There was nothing more that Marina enjoyed when she was done with a another successful performance and the crowd cheered for her. And with this money, it would be enough to get some warm clothes for the winter. "Seize them!" someone shouted and Marina froze. She could hear people shout as some guards pushed the crowd aside and made their way toward their scene. "Marina. Run!" Cassim her adoptive father shouted. But she wasn't that quick and a guard grabbed her arm and pushed her down at the ground. The world was spinning and she could hear her familys voices and the protests from some people among the crowd. Someone pulled her up by her hair and Marina recognized the guards face. It was him who had been rude to her after Facilier had escorted her home from the ball. "Please, let me go," Marina pleaded while tears ran down her face.

After the coronation the other day Edward decided it was time to get to know the city some more now that he had fully arrived and was done the effects of the travel. To his suprise after he had heard of the rumors he eventually even got to see a show performance with ... spirits? For sure he enjoyed all the talented performers and all that magical happenings and these colors! He had to admit, especially one act really had caught his interest or rather the lady who had been performing to be precise. As the show was done he argued with himself to come see the lady to tell her personally how much he had enjoyed the show or not but in the end he decided rather not to but maybe instead come again soon. However just when he was about to leave he heard some people shout and scream and there in the middle of that chaos there the lady was, being threatened by some cruel guard. Without hesitation he rushed right towards her and pushed the guard away. "Let go of the lady!"

"Shut up, you witch!" the guard shouted and slapped her face. Marina cried out in pain. "I told you it would be consequences, didn't I?" the guard said with a cruel smile at his face. Then suddenly, there was a man who rushed over to them and pushed away the guard from her. "Let go of the lady!" the man said. Marinas heart was pounding fast as she hid herself behind the man. The guard however didn't seem satisfied. "But she's a supernatural. She has to be arrested!"

So they really are that blind to go against supernatural beings, he thought to himself being honestly sad and feeling sorry. "Do you have even any proof for your accusation? But even if so it gives you no right to be that monsterous. She is a human being as well, powers or no powers." Edward scolded the man while he lifted the lady up, giving her a gentle smile before he slightly stood in front of her again to shield her. "As well it might interest you that things are changing. There is a new king on the throne if you haven´t noticed yet."

"Of course we have noticed!" the guard replied furious. "But he haven't even withdrawn the proclamation and our last king even got killed by those like her!" he continued pointing a finger to Marina. Marina held close to the kind man who shielded her. "But I just entertain people," Marina said with a whisper in her voice.

"And people like us murdered,slaugthered and raped as well and most likely even worse but does this make them go hunting down us? No. You should rather learn from them than want to get rid of them as they certainly do have some rare and important knowledge and skills that can help you as well. Now if you would be so kind and leave this people alone and apologize for the harm you have done`? I´m sure the prince, oh excuse me, I of course mean the KING would surely be much likely appreciate this act." Edward lectured the guard while giving the man the chance to take a glimb of his signature ring hinting that he was of big importance in Maghden, the home of the current king, without revealing his true identetiy just yet, especially to the lady since he honestly wanted to at least have a talk with her.

Marina could almost not believe what she heard. He was really defending her and people like her. There truly were good people as this kind man. If everything went well and she didn't get arrested, Marina would thank this man. But the guard didn't want to give in at first. "Didn't you just hear what I said? The king died because of people like her," he said still pointing his finger at Marina. "That little witch was at the masquerade ball and might even had a little part in the killing." Now Marina couldn't handle it anymore. "It's not true. I was at the castle yard with a friend when it happened." The guard was about to say something again, but he had noticed the ring and he suddenly got pale. "B-but maybe you're right my good lord." He gave the order to release Marinas parents and the rest of the troupe. The guard came with a humble apology and even offered to pay for their broken things. Marina stared wide eyed at the event. What just happened? What was going on? Then the guards left. "Thank you so much sir," Marina said with a grateful smile, though it did hurt where she had been slapped.

Edward watched the guards do as they were supposed to with a relieved sigh. At least his status was good for this much in Paradise. Once he was alone with the lady he gave her a gentle smile while he placed his hand carefully on her cheek which was obviously redder than the other one which made him come to the conclusion that she had been hit or slapped from the guard not too long ago. "Oh no need to thank me. It was only natural to help you since you haven´t done anything wrong. But are you alright?"

Marina was suddenly lost for words as he touched her cheek. Her heart started to race a bit. But she nodded as a answer. She was okay now, but still that frightening event was still there. "But still, there aren't often people help me and my family," Marina said after finally gaining some courage to speak again.

"I´m really sorry to her that." He replied softly but sad as he moved away his hand from her face. "In that case, if you ever are in need of help like today without any wrong doing of yours or your family you can always count on me for trying best to help you. ... Oh right, where are my manners? I´m Edward." He said giving her a small bow.

"Oh, don't worry," Marina said worried. "I mean, I'm used to it, but never this roughly before." Marina rubbed her cheek where it hurt. It would take days before the wound was gone. But she smiled to Edward as he presented himself and bowed. She realized that he had to be a noble man. "I'm Marina," she said with a little curtsy.

"Marina." Edward repeated quietly to himself as his heart skipped a beat since he finally got to know her name. "Really a lovely name you have. It surely suits you." He replied with a smile. "So now that the are finished with the formalities how about we get these bad happenings out of your mind? Would you like to take a walk with me? Or may I treat you for a nice meal? Or anything you always wanted to do?"

Marina couldn't help but blush as he said her name was lovely. He really was a charming man. "I would really love to have walk, thank you," Marina said and took his arm when he offered it. She suddenly felt the butterflies in her stomach as they walked together.

His mood surely lightened up as she agreed to walk with him and Edward had to control him really hard not smile like a little child who just got some candy for the first time as he felt her arm around his. "Where would you like to go mylady?"

Maybe they could go to a more quieter place? After all there still was some people who were looking at the destroyed stage and her parents starting to clean up the mess. She just didn't want to have more looks right now. "How about the end of the town? It's a little calmer there." she suggested.
