When Edward and Marina eventually got their hot chocolate he had hoped to enjoy it with her, alone. However just when he wanted to continue their conversation two strangers joined them, much to Edwards dislike which he of course would never show.

Facilier gave a chuckle
"I'm well, my dear. Quite well."
He gestured to Miriam, who flinched slightly at his arm raising
"I don't believe you and Miriam have been acquainted. This is my assistant, Miriam, Miriam this is the lovely Marina."
Miriam gave a small curtsey, giving Marina a nervous smile. She seemed nice enough but if she was friends with Facilier, who knew.
"And who may I ask is this charming fellow?"
He looked over the man Marina was with, curious about him.

Marina was surprised when a strange woman in a black coat interfered and nodded to her answer. It was important to celebrate such nice events. Then she was presented for Miriam. "How nice to meet you, Miriam. I hope you enjoy this festivity." Marina said giving her a warm smile. "This is Edward, he helped me and my family some time back," Marina said smiling, gesturing her hand to Edward smiling. Just looking in his eyes made her blush. "Edward, this is Facilier. He helped me escape from what happened at the masquerade ball."

Facilier gave the woman dressed in black a dark scowl, he did not appreciate her disrespecting him so. At the dark look on his face, Miriam tensed up in fear. When his hand formed a balled up fist, she grabbed his arm with both her hands attempting to stop him from doing something he'd regret. As Marina mentioned her accomplice, he turned his attention back to her and gave her companion a gracious smile.
"A pleasure to meet you, my good sir. I hope we can become better acquainted."
Miriam however, turned her attention towards the mysterious woman, who seemed to appear almost out of nowhere. She was intriguing and had an aura of power about her.
