Naveen stood by the window in his bedroom, watching the rain hit the panes, water droplets sliding down in a rhythmic pattern. It had been a few weeks since he could finally function on his own, but Nita had been watching him like a hawk, that is, until she disappeared a few days earlier. Aurora had told him that she had fallen ill and he should stay away since he was still recovering himself but he couldn't help but feel that something else was going on. Nita never spent this much time away from him, even if she was sick. He sighed and looked at his reflection in the window, frowning at the sight. His stomach was still bandaged despite the fact that the wound had healed fairly quickly. If he didn't do anything too extraneous, it would heal perfectly, barely even leaving a scar from what Aurora had told him. Was Nita still feeling guilty about that night? Was that why she didn't want to see him? He sighed, pulling himself away from the window and made his way down the hallway towards her room. As soon as he was about to knock on the door, Aurora opened the door just enough for her to slip out and appear before him, stopping him a foot away from the door. He rolled his eyes and stepped back, a frustrated sigh flying past his lips at the fact that he knew she would lecture him on trying to get in again. "Come on Rose, it's been days..almost a week. Why can't I see her? There has to be something you're not telling me..."

It had been days, almost a week since Nita had discovered the news. She had told Aurora, but Aurora hadn't been able to save the child before she lost it. After that, Nita couldn't bring herself to move...not even to go to Naveen's side. It was almost as if she had shut down completely, and nothing Aurora said could change how she felt. She spent her days staring out the window as if frozen there. Aurora hadn't been able to get her to eat much, but she had tried. Nita felt like she no longer had the energy to stand, much less walk. It was her fault she had lost the baby...she and Naveen could have had a child of their own, but she had made a stupid mistake. "Nita...you need to eat." Aurora said quietly and then she paused as if she could hear something that Nita couldn't. Nita heard her leave and stared down at her hands which were cold and had turned a little blue. The days were getting cold, and yet Nita couldn't bring herself to care. All she could think about was the baby that she had lost. Aurora stepped out of Nita's room with a frown on her face, looking uneasy to say the least. "Naveen....Nita is going through a lot right now. I'm not even sure if she'll be able to tell you herself what's happened. However, I do believe she'll tell you if you ask...just go easy on her." She said gently before she moved off down the hallway.

Naveen's heart dropped at Aurora's words, knowing immediately that it was worse than she had been telling him. When she moved down the hall, he stood there for a moment, debating if he should even go in. After a few minutes, he sighed and slowly opened the door as he let himself in, making sure to quietly click it shut behind him. He saw Nita sitting by the window, staring down at her hands. She looked like she hadn't moved in days and his mind ran with thoughts on what could have happened. Without saying a word, he grabbed a blanket from the bed and took it over to her, lightly draping it over her shoulders. He knelt down beside her before he reached out and took her hand in his, immediately noticing how cold she was. "Nita...what's wrong? I haven't seen you in days...Is everything alright?" Naveen leaned forward a bit, trying to catch her gaze in his. She seemed so...broken. It killed him that he didn't know what was going on and he'd do anything to find out.

Nita's whole posture became more tense as Naveen arrived. She didn't say anything at first until Naveen took her hand. The merest contact instantly made her start sobbing, "Naveen." She whispered and finally moved her gaze to look directly at him. She felt far worse when she saw the look in his eyes, "I....I was pregnant with our child. I lost it...if I hadn't-" She broke off with another heart-wrenching sob. She couldn't look at him then as she started to break down then and there. All the tears she had denied herself after she had initially lost the baby, came then. "I'm so sorry." She whispered as she pulled her hand back to herself as she hugged herself as if trying to reassure herself.

Naveen stared at her, his body not even moving at her words. His gaze moved down to the floor once she pulled away, her sobs echoing in his ears. She was pregnant...with his child. The situation brought back memories from his past and his body instantly tensed as his stomach churned. "Nita...it's not your fault. It's not..." His words slowly died off as he pushed himself to his feet, the back of his hand resting against his mouth as he fought to keep control of himself in front of her. She didn't need to see his reaction. Not after she had gone through this without him. "I...I'm sorry, I just..need a minute." Naveen slowly moved towards the door, not even bothering to close it behind him. He kept his gaze to the ground as he went down the hallway, his steps gradually getting faster as he went. Aurora called for him down the hall but he ignored her, turning into his room and he closed the door behind him. He stood completely still for a moment in the middle of the room, his body shaking from what he had just learned. In the blink of an eye, Naveen yelled in frustration, his hands grabbing the bottom of the bed before he pulled up, flipping it across the room until it slammed against the wall and the frame split into pieces. Guilt and anger rose up inside of him and he just went insane, letting it all out at once. His hands slipped around the back of the dresser, pulling on it until it fell onto it's side, the vases and pictures that decorated the top shattering across the floor. Within moments, the whole room was trashed, every piece of furniture thrown and destroyed and he fell to his knees in the middle of the whole mess. Naveen punched the ground with his hand as tears finally forced themselves free and he groaned in frustration and pain. He had made two promises to himself that he would never break and they both had broken in less than in instant. The first being that he would never hurt Nita again by being so reckless and the second...no more children. He had lost so many over the years with Aurora, even Evangeline a few times and now Nita. So many little lives that didn't even have a chance and each one ripped another hole in his heart. Now he had lost another and he had forced Nita into going through that terrible pain once more because of a stupid mistake he had made all those months ago. He heard Aurora open the door to his room and gasp at the sight of what he had done but he didn't care. His whole body felt numb, but he knew Nita had been feeling worse. He stared down at the ground, the glass from a broken vase glittering in the firelight of the room. "I can't do it anymore...Every time is worse than the last. I promised that it wouldn't happen again and...She must have been in so much pain. I remember...the first time, every time.." His voice struggled to keep steady and was no louder than a small whisper as his hand moved to clutch his stomach. The stabbing pain was back from his sudden outburst and he felt like he was going to be sick.

Nita heard Naveen leave, but she didn't register his words until she heard the sounds of things breaking. She wiped at her eyes and moved to stand up, her legs were barely able to support her weight. All that time from not having moved much became more apparent as she stood up. Naveen needed her, and he needed to know that she didn't blame him. She slowly made her way out of the room and down the hall to where the sounds were coming from. She stepped past Aurora who looked up at her as she appeared. Nita stepped into the room and gasped as she took in the damage, Naveen seemed hardly aware of her as he spoke. "I don't blame you...I blame the sorcerer. After all, he's the one who...took over my mind. If it hadn't been for his curse, and my blade I would have given birth to our child. We both know that's true Naveen, and while it was...painful I know I could have borne a child...our child. You have always been more considerate to me then anyone I have ever been with. I could not be angry with you, even if you wished it...what's done is done. Losing the child was difficult, but I'm not going to give up. Not on us and not on you, I love you with all my heart Naveen and that will never change." Nita stated firmly as she moved to be next to him.

Naveen didn't look up as Nita entered the room, his whole body refusing to move. He hadn't wanted her to see him react this way but he was so tired of losing everything that mattered. When she moved next to him, his body flinched away for a moment and he shook his head. "If I had just healed you for a moment longer..I could have saved it. You wouldn't have had to go through that and hide it from me...and you wouldn't have had to see me...like this..Gods I'm useless." His shoulders collapsed in defeat as he tried to reclaim control of his emotions. After a moment, he sat up and forced himself to look at her. She still managed to look so strong even though he knew she couldn't be in that moment and he hated himself for breaking down. He leaned forward, planting a desperate kiss on her lips as he struggled to hold his breath steady. Naveen pulled back slightly, his thumb running across her cheek as he kept his forehead pressed against hers. "I'm sorry I put you through that again. I'm so sorry.." He pulled her into him and his arms wrapped around her body as he held her in a tight embrace.

Nita bit down on her bottom lip at Naveen's words, "I didn't mean to hide it from you. I just didn't want you to worry...I should have told you as soon as I discovered I was pregnant. So please forgive me, I never should have kept it from you." She pulled back at his apology, "Stop...it's not your fault...it never was! I would have loved to have been the mother of our child. Maybe someday I can be, but I don't ever want you to feel as if it is your fault. Sometimes we can't control what happens, but if it hadn't been for you I would have died. If you had tried healing me any longer...you would have died. Losing you...I would not be able to bear it. I know that and I want you to know that." She took his hands with both of her own. "I love you Naveen...I always will." She said and lightly squeezed his hands, not seeming to notice the pure white light that flowed from her hands and into his own. Her eyes had turned a dark golden color as she said this and then the light started to heal the wounds that Naveen still had. The old and the new wounds closed and then just as suddenly as the light had grown, it ceased. Nita let out a little sigh as she felt her energy give out on her and then her legs crumpled. It was as if she had used up all her energy and she could feel exhaustion throughout her entire body.

Naveen hung his head, refusing to look at her as she scolded him. He wanted so badly to just give up but he knew he had to stay strong for her. If he left her for his own selfish reasons, he's never forgive himself even after he was gone. A white light blinded him for a moment and he felt a burning sensation cross over his stomach and hands. He gasped in surprise and his eyes shot open to see that the light was coming from Nita. "Nita, what are you doing? Stop it, you'll kill yourself!" Naveen tried to pull away from her, fearing that she'd over exert herself using magic while she was in her condition. Once the light faded, her body sagged and his arms wrapped around her body to keep her from falling to the ground. A sudden movement like that could have ripped open his wound but he realized that he suddenly didn't feel any pain. He glanced at his hands and where his knuckles had once been blood from punching the ground was once again perfectly intact. Naveen gaped at the sight. He didn't know Nita could do healing magic, much less break the seal he had created when he had taken on her damage. "Nita, are you alright?" He carefully lowered her down onto her knees before looking into her eyes to make sure she was responsive. Her eyes flowed a dark golden color, nothing like he had ever seen and worry spread through him. Did he sorcerer still have some control over her? Has his kiss not worked how they thought?

Nita blinked a few times, the golden hue slowly diminishing as she did so. "I...I haven't done that in years. I thought I'd lost the ability after the sorcerer took over." She admitted, upon seeing Naveen's confused look she winced. "Sorry, before the sorcerer took me I was a healer but I forgot how it drained me. I haven't healed wounds like that in well over a century." She added with a little laugh. Naveen had of course known she had abilities, but he had never known the full extent of them. "I'm sorry if I scared you, I didn't even realize what I was doing. I just wanted to make you feel better...I guess my powers activated as a result." The exhaustion was something she could usually handle if she had been fully prepared. She laughed then, "I thought I'd never get my powers back...I can't believe it." She said a small smile growing as she spoke, looking happy for the first time in days. "The sorcerer really is gone." She whispered, she hadn't thought she would have been lucky enough to escape the sorcerer's hold. For the first time in years, she allowed herself to feel free...she had denied herself that feeling for far too long. She leaned up and kissed Naveen then before pulling back and giving him an almost shy smile.

Naveen looked her, confusion clouding his face. When she winced, he instantly moved forward to steady him in her arms, pulling her closer to him. As she explained herself, Naveen felt his worry disappear and he took in the look on her face. She was happy, for the first time in a long time. "Let's get you back to your room." He slipped his arm around her back, the other beneath her legs as he lifted her into his arms. Relief flooded him when he didn't feel a stab through his nerves and he took her out of his destroyed room and back to hers. He'd have to explain to Eric and though he knew his friend wouldn't be happy about it, Naveen would make sure to pay for the replacements. After all, he had been the one to destroy it all. Once they were back in her room, he laid her body down in the center of the bed and made sure to keep her propped up so she could be comfortable. He didn't say anything for a while, just leaned his forehead against hers as his thumb traced over the skin on her hand. It had been the first time in a while that he didn't feel the need to fill the silence and he enjoyed it. He lightly kissed her lips every once in a while, just wanting to make sure that she was still real beneath his touch. "You must be one hell of a healer to break my..." Naveen had just been about to say curse when he realized that he had never told Nita about it. The curse he had had since he was ten years old..He cleared his throat, struggling to find a word to replace it but he failed. After a few moments, he gave up and sighed. "I'm just glad you are back to your old self." He gave her a reassuring smile as he lightly ran his hand over her hair, smoothing the loose strands from her face.

Nita looked up at Naveen as he bent down and carried her off into her room. She didn't even protest as he laid her down on the bed, she smiled up at him as he rested his forehead against hers. The feeling of his hand holding her own only soothed her as she allowed herself to relax. His lips touched hers every so often, the feeling reassuring her each time he did so. "Break what?" She asked quietly as she lifted her gaze to meet his own. At his other words she smiled and squeezed his hand with her own. "You and me both...I never thought I'd actually get my powers back. I thought they were beyond restoration after the sorcerer did his work on me." She said, her gaze becoming a little distant as she considered it. "When I was younger, I had to be so careful not to arouse mom and dad's suspicions every time someone got injured. When you got hurt...I sometimes forgot myself, even when I was younger I trusted you far more then anyone else." She admitted with a little laugh. "I still do in fact....and now I can use my power to be more useful! That way we won't have to bother Aurora all the time. Besides, I need to work on being able to control it." She pointed out as she looked up at Naveen, a little nervous to see his reaction.

Naveen ignored her first comment at first, shaking his head hoping that she'd dismiss it. As she continued to speak, he tried to keep a sane face but he could feel a small frown working free. He remembered trying to keep her powers a secret from their parents when they were younger, so much so that he never really knew what she was capable of. They had spent so much time pretending she was normal that he almost forgot that she wasn't. "Just...be careful. Magic can be dangerous and I don't want you getting yourself hurt." He glanced down at his hands, his thoughts wandering back to what he had said earlier. "I know Aurora is a great teacher and she can help you and Chel, but I still worry. You were so young when it happened so you may not remember...but I tried to be a sorcerer's apprentice when we were younger. Magic was so fascinating to me..but father didn't approve. I became a dragon hunter like he wished but I still practiced in secret. The day that I was going to ask mother for help getting him to agree, something went wrong...My teacher must have got the spell wrong and I was cursed. Now each time I use my magic, there are repercussions that no one can fix and they become permanently sealed. Like when I healed you...I took half of your damage and I guess the baby's too and Aurora couldn't heal me. Ever since that day, I saw magic for what it was. It's dangerous. I just don't want you getting hurt..." Naveen averted his gaze from her, knowing that he probably sounded insane. Just from the experiences he's had, he could never believe that there was a good side to magic but he wasn't going to let his views on it keep the ones he loved from doing what they wanted.

Nita listened to him with a frown, "Even though you knew about the risks, you still went and did that...for me?" She asked quietly. The fact that he had gone to that much effort for her was touching. "And just when I think my love for you couldn't get any stronger." She said gently and lightly squeezed his hand. "I'll be careful...you have my word." She meant it as well, Naveen clearly had his reasons for being worried and she couldn't fault him for them. "So are we going to be ok?" She asked quietly, suddenly worried that after she had lost the baby that Naveen might not want to be with her anymore. Nita wouldn't be able to bear it if he left her, on top of losing their child.

Naveen gave her a soft smile when she agreed, grateful that she could understand how he felt about the whole thing. Though at her next question, he looked down at his hands before taking a breath. "Of course we are going to be okay. It's not something that I had wanted for us...losing a child...but it happens. I know that more than anybody. It may just take me a while to get a grip on things, but I know we will get through it. Once we make it, I swear I'll do better at...controlling myself." He tried to tease her, knowing that she must have been worried about his reaction before. Now that he thought about it, he probably overreacted but considering how many times he had been in that situation, he was tired of it. He knew that she must have gone through so much worse, the pain and the mental torture, but for him, each one was burned into his mind. The fact that he had lost so many children yet Chel existed gave him a small hope for the future, but he wasn't going to pin too much on that.
