Nero turned to look at Nita as she tried to get up but thankfully Chel was already there, forcing her back down. "He's a big boy Nita, he just needs some time." He sighed and moved over to help Chel put her back onto the mattress. At Chel's attempt of humor, he smirked and slipped his hand onto her waist. "You need your rest Nita. If he takes too long, I can go after him myself. He won't want to stay away from you or the children for long but he also doesn't want to hurt you when he's upset." His lips twisted into a frown as he thought about it. They didn't tell him because they were afraid of what he would do and Naveen knew it. He knew he was dangerous but Nero hadn't thought of what it would do to Naveen if he found out they thought he was dangerous too. Nero summoned a bottle of the grotto water in his hands and held it out to Nita. He had saved some of it just in case and it was a good thing that he did. "Not to add onto the issues of today already...but I think there's a reason you passed out." At her confused look, he glanced over at Narcisse and then back at Nita. "The poison may still be affecting you but also, I think Narcisse is a siphon. While you were holding him, his powers must have decided to test themselves and that's what caused you to pass out. Chel mentioned that a talisman of some sort could help hold his powers but I will have to do some research to find the right one." Nero paused, letting some of the information sink in. "And if a talisman doesn't work...I may have to take him for a while. Believe me, I've changed my mind and I don't want to but if it will keep all of you safe, I can take him off your hands until we get this figured out." Nero frowned, knowing that he shouldn't be springing this on Nita after all that had happened but he didn't want this happening again and her not know what's going on.

Naveen wandered far from the house, his mind still whirling. He barely even felt as the rain pelted his skin and within minutes, his clothes were soaked through. Every muscle in his body shivered as the wind whipped around him but it didn't bother him..he felt numb to it all, completely drawn into his thoughts. His white shirt had become nearly transparent and clung to his skin and his pant legs stuck to his muscles as he walked. He walked until he couldn't even see the house anymore and he stood on the shoreline, watching the waves roll towards him. A storm was rolling in and he could see the lightning and rain falling in the distance. This was supposed to be the perfect weekend for the beach, the weather was supposed to be nice and there shouldn't have been anything to ruin it but now here he was. The tide rolled in and the water lapped at his feet as he stared out and before he knew it, he had waded in until the water slapped against his thighs. Even though it was a storm, it still looked so peaceful out there ad he just wanted to go to it.

Nita stared down at the bottled water as she silently absorbed Nero's words. "A siphon? Would any transfer from me hurt him?" She asked with immediate concern for her son. Her eyes moved to the crib where both Mira and Narcisse slept on, unaware of the conversation between them. "I'd like to try the talisman first and do some research before we even consider the possibility of taking him away." She said after a long moment before she took the bottled water from Nero and had a few sips. The water immediately restored her energy and already she was feeling much better then she had only moments ago. A few more sips and she moved towards the cribs, "Would he be siphoning from Mira?" She asked after a moment as she looked down at her two children.

A breathy laugh echoed from behind Naveen and behind him stood a wispy shade...Ruby. "She really should have told you the truth. You should have seen the look in her eyes when she found out what I had been doing to her. I think she deserved it...if you ask me she should have died in child birth. She lied to you after all, can you believe the nerve of her? After all that you've done for her...it's never enough...who knows what else she's been lying to you about." Ruby added with a wide smile as she circled to face Naveen. "Nero has been acting very protective of her...I'm sure he still wants her. I mean have you seen the way how she looks at him? It doesn't matter that he's already in a relationship, she wants him and he's never been able to resist her before has he?" She asked with a twisted smile at Naveen.

Nero shook his head and looked over at Narcisse. "I don't think so. Not powers anyway. But if he wanted to, he could take on pain and injuries to save someone." When she mentioned she wanted to use the talisman first, he nodded, knowing that it would have been the first thing any of them would have tried. He didn't want to take Narcisse anymore...not after he saw how happy that his son had made her. "I think he had been, yes. She is a supernatural too, but what exactly I still haven't figured it out. She's not very strong yet so it could be a while until her powers show up. I'm assuming Naveen already showed you the bracelet for her?" When Nita gave him a surprised look, he smirked and shook his head. "Yes, I know about that one too. I try not to read minds but sometimes it just happens. I knew about it before he gave it to you. Anyway, we can enchant that so it's like yours. It will protect her from him so she shouldn't be weakened anymore than she already is but he will still need the talisman to be around you or Naveen. The last thing we want is him gaining Naveen's powers out of all of ours."

Naveen whipped around when he heard a familiar echo around him and he froze to see a silhouette of Ruby standing behind him. As she spoke, he felt his body shiver and he shook his head. "You're dead Ruby...how are you here?" But her words seemed to strike a chord in him and he couldn't move. He knew she was just trying to mess with him and he squeezed his eyes shut, trying to push her away. "Stop it. She only did it to protect me...thanks to you, my whole family is afraid of me. They're so gentle around me and they think I haven't noticed." Though when she brought his father into it, his eyes widened and he stumbled back, the water up to his waist now. Her words seemed to get louder in his ears and he winced, turning his head away from her. She kept going and Naveen could feel his muscles tense before he growled and tried to shove her away. "Stop it!" His hands moved to push her but they fell through her, like she was made of air and he stumbled forward, barely catching himself before he could have landed face first in three feet of water.

Nita bit down on her bottom lip as Nero explained more about Narcisse and his abilities. She felt exhausted, Naveen was still gone and all this information was almost enough to make her head spin. "Well if the talisman works then we can do that for Mira. I'd feel better if we could do that as soon as possible, that way no one is in danger." She said quietly leaning down and running one finger along Narcisse's cheek and then doing the same for Mira. "Naveen still hasn't come back...it's been more then a few minutes. He needs me...I should have told him everything." She confessed as she stepped away from the crib and moving towards the door.

Ruby chuckled knowingly, "Oh I've hit a nerve, that's one of your fears isn't it?" She asked with a twisted smile. "She's probably already planning on leaving...or she's having sex with him right now. I bet she's moaning his name in the throes of passion...tangled up in the sheets together. I bet she doesn't even care that you're even out here all by yourself. Why should she? You're obviously not very important to her after all." She said, enjoying how upset Naveen became as she kept talking.

Nero nodded and looked down as she stroked the children's cheeks. "I will do everything I can Nita, I promise." He looked towards the window as thunder rolled outside and he frowned. She was right. Naveen's already been gone for at least a half hour. That's more than enough time to cool off and head back, especially in this weather. "If you're going to go, you can't go alone. I'll go with you. Chel, if you don't mind, could you watch the children? We'll be back in a few minutes, he couldn't have gone far." He looked over at the two of them, hoping that they would approve of his plan.

Naveen growled as she continued to taunt him and he covered his ears with his hands. "No, she would never do that!" The rain got harder and the waves crashed against him trying to knock him off his feet. Even as he covered his ears, he could still hear her clearly over all the wind and the water. She was in his head and he knew it but no matter how much he tried to push her out, she wouldn't leave. "Why are you doing this? Why are you here?" He screamed at her, his eyes still squeezed shut as he refused to look at her.

Nita bent down and kissed both children before she nodded. "That should work." She said gently before she moved to follow Nero outside. Chel leaned up and kissed him before he left, "Try and take it easy on my dad...I'm not so sure how he'll react." She cautioned in an undertone not wanting Nita to worry any more then she already was.

Ruby laughed, "Oh wouldn't she? Why don't you ask them yourself?" She asked as she pointed over Naveen's shoulder to where both Nita and Nero were leaving the house. "Look at them...they probably just had sex, maybe even up against the wall. It would explain why she's walking a little funny wouldn't it?" She asked with a smirk. Nita was indeed walking a little differently but this was due to her bare feet and to how tired she still was from having fainted earlier on.

Nero nodded and kissed Chel back lightly as he took Nita's hand and they both rushed downstairs. He grabbed an umbrella from the door and held it over Nita as they walked, trying to keep her as dry as possible. "He couldn't have gone far...this beach isn't that big-" Nero's words cut off when he saw someone in the water up ahead, much farther in than they should have been in this kind of weather. He stopped in his tracks when he realized it was Naveen and he put his arm up in front of Nita to get her to stop walking. "That's not good..."
Naveen was looking right at them, fear clearly showing in his eyes. His eyes flashed black and then red as he fought to control his emotions and he growled. "Stop it, please..." He whispered as tears started to fall down his face. His whole body felt heavy and a large wave suddenly came at him and he fell forwards into the water. Naveen flailed against the water but it seemed to drag him out even farther and he disappeared from the surface.
Nero instantly moved forward when he saw a wave coming, trying to warn Naveen but before he knew it, his son was swallowed by the water and didn't resurface. "Stay here." He left the umbrella with her and ran towards the water, diving in as he tried to find Naveen in the swirls around him.

Nita's eyes widened when she saw just how far out Naveen was, "What's he doing all the way out there?" She asked her heart nearly in her mouth as fear filled her. Her hand flew up to her mouth as she saw the big wave crash down on Naveen and then he didn't resurface. "NAVEEN!" She screamed, the umbrella falling out of her grip as she scanned the water desperately for any sign of Naveen. Nero dove into the water and her whole body felt faint as neither one of them resurfaced. "Nero! Naveen!" She shouted and moved to dive in after Nero but then a little laugh sounded right behind her. "I wouldn't do that if I were you..Naveen won't help you if you get yourself in trouble." Nita's heart sank and she turned around to see Ruby there, from the way how her body flickered she was just a shade...a ghost. "What did you do to him?" Nita asked, fearing the answer. Ruby grinned and then glanced out over the water, "Let's just say I played him like the poor little sap he is...he's so easy." She said with a shake of her head. "Your father's gonna see that soon enough." She said her grin widening before she disappeared. Nita's heart began to pound, "NERO! NAVEEN!" She shouted and then dove into the water after both of them.

Naveen's body slid under the water and eventually, he stopped fighting. Ruby knew exactly what to say to break him and he was exhausted from fighting. Suddenly he felt arms slip around him and he was forced to resurface, the salt water crashing against his face. He looked down to see Nero holding him up and his eyes flashed black. "Let me go!" His voice came out distorted, almost death like as he thrashed in his father's arms. When Nero wouldn't let go, he growled and shoved at him until they both fell under the water again. Nero tightened his grip on Naveen, realizing that he had been brainwashed and was lashing out. Naveen kicked him in the stomach and Nero released his grip and the waved quickly separated them. Nero resurfaced and scanned the water for Naveen but instead, he saw Nita jumping into the water. "No, Nita! Get back on the shore!" He shouted before he felt someone tackle him and Naveen dragged him back under.

Nita froze as Nero started yelling at her to go back and she hesitated, and then Naveen was clawing at Nero. His eyes were a pitch black and Nita's heart sank, "NAVEEN! STOP!" She screamed, her voice growing lost as the waves pushed against her. She flailed as she felt her foot get caught by drifting sea weed kelp. Idiot, she never should have swum all the way out after Naveen and Nero. She took a breath and dove under the water to try and free her leg. Her foot was well and truly tangled and she started to feel real panic, she resurfaced and managed to get a few good breaths in before she dove back under the water. Her hands pulled at the seaweed until she felt it loosen just enough for her foot to slip free. She felt relief fill her but she was also worried all the effort of freeing herself had drained her. The constant waves weren't helping her either. The storm was getting worse by the second and she was feeling tired. She kept swimming towards the shore, but it seemed to get farther and farther away with each stroke.

Nero grabbed hold of Naveen, slipping his arm around his neck before holding him in a choke hold beneath the waves. Naveen clawed at his father, tearing his flesh with his nails until he slowly went limp and the air escaped his lungs. Nero finally dragged Naveen to the surface but he saw Nita struggling not that far ahead of him and he cursed. He shifted Naveen so he would rest against his back and he fought against the waves to get to Nita. "Grab on." Nero waited for Nita to get a good grip and managed to somehow get all three of them to the shore. Naveen slid off his back and landed in the sand, his chest not moving. Nero cursed and checked for a pulse only to find a faint one. He leaned down and pinched Naveen's nose before blowing air into his lungs. After a moment, he pulled back and did several compressions on Naveen's chest. It took quite a few tries but Naveen suddenly coughed up the water in his lungs and his whole body shuttered in chills. His eyes flicked open to reveal his normal brown and he saw both his father and Nita hovering over him. "What...what happened?" Naveen winced as his chest erupted in what felt like flames from the salt stinging his lungs and he coughed until he could barely breath.

Nita thought for sure that she'd continue to drift until the waves carried her out past the beach. She looked up when she suddenly heard Nero and looked over to see him swimming with Naveen resting on his back. Her eyes took in the little wounds that Nero had and she felt guilt fill her but she nodded and grabbed hold. Nero was much stronger then she was and he was able to carry them all the way back to shore. Once they were on the shore, Nita let Nero go and collapsed on the ground feeling weak and shaky. Her eyes landed on Naveen though and she tensed when she saw that he wasn't breathing. "Is he going to be ok?" She asked as she pushed herself up and staggered towards them. Her foot felt like it was on fire and she glanced down to see angry red welts wrapped around it. She grimaced but ignored it as she saw Nero start doing compressions. "Naveen?" She whispered, she sank to her knees beside Nero as she watched him try to resuscitate him. If Naveen died she'd never be able to forgive herself, she reached for his hand and then Naveen shot up coughing up seawater. Relief filled her and she let out a shaky sob before she flung her arms around Naveen. "You were out in the water...Ruby was here...I saw her." She said quietly and pulled back to look at Naveen. "She told me that she preyed on your fears and then I decided to go help Nero save you but uh he had to rescue me." She said with her cheeks turning a bright red with embarrassment.

Nero's eyes widened when Nita mentioned that Ruby had been there and he cursed under his breath. That would explain why Naveen had lashed out like that. He looked down and noticed the welts on Nita's foot and he quickly healed her before Naveen would see it. Salt stung the claw marks on his arms but he could deal with that later. Naveen groaned as Nita flung her arms around him and he struggled to stay upright. He heart her mention Ruby and his eyes flickered black before he winced and shook his head. Suddenly, it all came back to him and his eyes widened. The way she taunted him about Nero and Nita and how he had lost control and attacked his father. "Oh gods, I'm so sorry...I..I let her get to me. She knew what would set me off and I fell for it.." He ran a shaky hand over his face and looked over at his father. "Thank you..." Naveen noticed the claw marks and blood coating Nero's arms and looked down to see blood covering his fingernails. His stomach churned and he looked away. "I don't understand how she was here...it was like she wasn't real but was at the same time..."

Nita felt relief fill her as Nero healed her leg and gave him a small smile before she realized that she was probably hurting Naveen and pulled away hastily. "Oh I'm sorry!" She said and looked down, but frowned as Naveen spoke up about Ruby. "What did she say exactly?" She asked curiously. It must have been pretty bad for Naveen to try and attack Nero in the way that he had. Nero could handle himself of course but she knew it must have taken him by surprise. "You don't have to tell me...I just...I hope she's still dead." She said quietly and moved to heal Nero's cuts and scratches no doubt from his fight with Naveen. The thought of Ruby hurting Naveen or her children made her feel sick with worry. The fact that she had gotten to Naveen so easily was even more worrisome. The rain fell down even harder and she shivered, her dress was all but transparent now no thanks to the rain and her little foray into the water and she noted that Naveen and Nero were in a similar boat. "We should probably move back to the beach house." She said her body shivering.

Naveen bit his lip and looked over at the two of them. "I know you told me not to worry but...she was taunting me about..about you two." He sighed at the look that Nita gave him and he frowned. "I don't know what happened. I tried to fight her off but then I blacked out and woke up here." Nero blinked at Naveen's words and pulled back once Nita had healed his scratches. "Naveen, you can't listen to her. You know that nothing is going to happen between me and Nita again but she forced you to think that something could. That's what she does. She brainwashed you..." He looked towards the house and nodded at Nita's words. "We can take a short cut." Nero raised his hand and snapped his fingers, the three of them appearing on the first floor of the beach house. Naveen's lips were turning purple from the cold and he shuttered as he was suddenly starting to feel really tired. How long had he been out there before they found him? Nero pushed himself to his feet and helped Nita stand. "You two go get warmed up, take a bath or something and make sure he doesn't go to sleep until you're sure he's better. I'll work on keeping the house safe so Ruby can't get in and I'll take a bath when you're done." Nero ushered her upstairs, helping her with Naveen until he could walk on his own.
