Frollo lingered in the hallways as he considered what he was planning, now that the Prince was there he could finally set in motion everything he had worked so hard to gain all those years ago. He walked to one of the many bay windows and stared down at the people gathered there, there were so many there and so many unnatural creatures down there among them. Yes his son was now one of them but one day he would find a cure for him, there had to be something that he could use and Frollo would tear down the world to find such a cure should one exist. His lips twisted in a dark sneer as he thought about the upcoming week, there would be a Festival for the Blood Moon and he intended on making some big changes during that time.

James made his way through the halls of the castle, his body buzzing with energy. It was one of the side effects of his slow transformation and one that he didn't particularly enjoy. Now that his body was going through these sudden changes, he was constantly moving around trying to act normal. When he turned the corner, he froze when he saw his father standing by one of the bay windows and frowned. Claude was someone he did not want to deal with right now. Before his father could catch him lurking, he made his way to his side, hoping that he wouldn't end up listening to another lecture. "Father, stop staring at those poor people."

Frollo looked up to see his only son standing next to him, "Where's the harm? We're high enough up that they're not even aware I'm watching them." He stated calmly, but shifting so he was no longer looking out the windows. There wasn't any noticeable changes in his son but he knew they were there, "You look...energized." Frollo said eventually and his son did, it was a hard thing to watch the son he had raised turn into one of the very creatures he despised with all his being.

James looked out the window, his hands shaking with energy before he shoved them into his pockets. He shot a glance at his father's comment before frowning. "Shut up...I haven't slept in days." Irritation showed in his voice, not even bothering to hide it. He knew his father was upset by his current condition but there was nothing he could do to help it. It was his own fault that he was turning. His foolishness had gotten the better of him and now he was paying the price. He had already accepted that, but he knew his father hadn't.

Frollo nodded once, "So I've heard, do you need someone to give you a sleeping potion?" He asked eventually as he started to walk along the hallway not needing to look to know that his son would be right behind him. A tiny part of him could admit that he had done wrong by James but he had tried, after James's mother had died Frollo had raised James as well as he was able. Yet it seemed to never be enough even for his son, all he had wanted was to protect him from any harms in the world and now their relationship had turned into this.

James turned to follow his father down the corridor, catching up to him in just a few easy steps but still staying one step behind. "I'm fine. I don't want any stupid potions." He ran one hand through his hair as they walked. Thankfully, his newfound abilities weren't all that noticeable, yet. All he had to worry about was his increased energy and making sure he didn't move too fast and show off his increased speed either. He was grateful that the transformation part hadn't come yet. They had read the legends together and he knew that it was one of the last stages of turning, and quite frankly it wasn't one that he was looking forward to.

Frollo glanced back at him, "Well perhaps you might want too, I'm afraid you'll unnerve our guests and if Prince Phillip finds out that you're different-" He broke off with a muttered curse. Prince Phillip would probably take advantage of Frollo's son having a problem and use it against him, so he'd have to make sure his son knew the risks. "Just try to be discreet James, the last thing we need is a catastrophe! I don't want to hear rumors of you from other people, I know what I'm asking is a big favor but this is important." He said firmly.

James clenched his fists as his father spoke, doing his best to control his temper. "I won't draw any attention to myself. No one has noticed any change since it happened..." He stared at the ground as they walked, ignoring his father's cursing. "Why is it so important? If you had never convinced the king to go through with the proclamation, I wouldn't have to hide." The words came out of his mouth without even thinking, anger clearly seeping through every word. His father had changed after the attack and James didn't like the way he was headed.

"And what do you think happens to me then hmm? If people realize that I the most trusted adviser and religious leader lied to them and led this witch hunt straight their lands...No James you must keep your secret." Frollo snapped as he whirled on James with a dark look on his face. "And you? You'll be given the same treatment as me, after all you never revealed who you were while others of your kind suffered. I don't think the townspeople would like hearing about that, do you?" He added in a dark hiss.

James stopped in his tracks when his father whirled around to face him. "I'd tell everyone if I could. I've already accepted the fact that I'm different but you haven't. The only reason I'm going along with this ridiculous scheme of yours is so you can keep in your good graces with the king." He practical spat the words at his father, his anger taking over his mind. His eyes flashed a yellow color before turning back to their normal shade.

Frollo raised an eyebrow not phased in the least by his son's outburst. "Indeed? Well then I suppose I ought to be grateful." He said in a sneering tone as he studied his son with a cold expression. He pressed a hand to his face, "You should be mindful of your temper, as should I." He said as an after thought. Frollo seemed to look more regretful then, "You may be different but I'll make sure you're cured. There has to be a cure! I won't rest until it's found." He said with renewed fervor. Frollo moved along, not seeming to realize how erratic his behavior seemed then.

James sighed as he looked away from his father in defeat. He couldn't remember a time when he never fought with his father and this added incident didn't help with that at all. "Forgive me father, I'm just on edge." He ran his hand through his hair as he listened to his father rant about the cure again. Deep down, James knew that there was little to no chance for a cure. Even if they did find one, he wasn't going to stop changing and who knows how the cure would work if his transformation was complete. He was running out of time.

"It seems to be that way more and more often, for both of us." Frollo pointed out. He was facing pressure of a different sort of which his son didn't know all the details. "Just let me know when you notice different things. How fast is it progressing?" He asked with sudden interest. If he had an idea of how much time James could have, then he might be better able to find a cure or someone who could lift this curse from his son. "Do I need to be worried?" Frollo added as he glanced over at James.

James looked out the window as they moved past, slowing his steps to a stop. "It's only been a few weeks, but it seems to be moving fast. I'd say I have maybe two months...three if we're lucky until it's complete." He sighed and stuffed his hands in his pockets. He hated to make his father worry. It was already evident that he was stressed from his other duties. "Don't worry father. If it completes, I'll still be the same. Not much is going to change.." He said the words mostly as an afterthought, hoping it would ease his father's thoughts.

Frollo didn't seem to hear the rest of what James had to say, "Three months? That doesn't give me much time." He muttered as he began pacing, with his hands twisting together. A clear sign that he was pondering the situation, "Very well, I'll just have to adjust some things." He said with a firm nod. Frollo turned to look over at his son, "Let me know if anything changes." He said firmly, hoping his son understood how serious he was being.
