James frowned, knowing that his father wasn't listening to a word he was saying. "Of course father." he mumbled the words as if it was a reflex. Ever since the attack, James could feel the changes every second of the day. He didn't tell his father about the little things, only the ones that he was bound to pick up on. Watching as his father wrung his hands, James gave him a curious look. "Is everything alright? You seem a little out of your wits today.."

Frollo looked up at the question as if through a haze, "Oh yes I'm fine, I just have a lot on my mind at the moment." He said distractedly. "Having to help plan the engagement party has taken quite a toll, I am confidant however that things will go according to plan." He added with a sage nod. With that mysterious statement hanging in the air, Frollo moved as if about to go down the hallway and then paused in step. "Are you planning on visiting the Princess and Prince anytime soon?" He asked rather suddenly. |

James nodded as his father mentioned the engagement party. He had heard of the engagements of both the princess and the prince, but he still hadn't met their suitors. He most likely never would if his father kept getting his way. James would have nightmares of his father going insane and locking James away. It was a big worry of his and with the rate that things were going, it could happen if he wasn't careful. He looked up at his father's sudden question and shook his head, confusion clouding his face. "I hadn't planned on it...is there something I should be worried about father?"

Frollo nodded slowly as he considered his son's response, "No of course not I was just curious." He said as he glanced back at James with a slightly unreadable expression. "If you do talk to them, be careful about what you might say or do." He said in a cautionary tone. He let out a small sigh, "I know I'm not the father you might hope for but in the end all I have ever done has been for you." He said quietly. |

"Father, you need a break. You've been working too much lately." James frowned as he took a step towards his father and gently squeezed his arm. "Why don't you let me take care of your other duties today. What all do you have left to do?" He looked at him curiously, silently wondering if he would be able to finish his father's duties. He wasn't even completely sure of all the things he did everyday. No doubt in his mind though, it had to be stressful.

Frollo looked up at his son's concerned tone of voice, "Don't worry about me James, I have this entire situation under control." He said gently but firmly. "I appreciate your concern though, just focus on your own worries James and I will deal with mine." He added with a small barely there smile. Who knew trying to take over a kingdom would require so much time and effort but he was sure things would work out in the end. |
