James made his way through town square, dodging bodies as he weaved his way in and out of the crowds. His body finally stopped buzzing with energy, which to his delight, left him with exhaustion tugging at the back of his mind. It had been days since he had slept and he was craving the idea of laying down and finally getting some rest. It was probably the talk he had with his father that finally gave him a break. Claude always seemed to suck the energy out of him whenever they got into an argument, tonight being no different than any other. Being a man of a higher class, his home was located at a decent distance from the castle, minimizing his interaction with the townspeople. Though there must have been something going on in the shops as the crowds seemed to grow stronger as he got closer and closer to his home. He didn't want to deal with fighting for a path so he retreated to the alleyways, stuffing his hands in his pockets as he made his way home. The alleys had always been one of his favorite places to walk, despite what horror stories the townspeople hear about muggings or prostitution. At any time of the day, they were always empty and made his way of getting across the town much faster. An added upside was that it gave him some extra time to himself where he didn't have to worry about hiding the little quirks of his changing identity.

Once Ariel had made it out of the forest, she looked back and bit the bottom on her lip. She had promised she would find help for Kayley, but she had no idea how she was going to get it. In the back of her mind she wondered if she was even alive. The guy was furious, he seemed almost dead set on making the girl's life horrible. She took a step towards the forest, wondering if she could find them and save the girl herself, but immediately stopped when the doubt in her mind took over. She was lucky she had escaped, would she even risk chasing after them? She needed to get help in order to stop that man. And that was what she was going to do.
Ariel turned to enter the village but stopped when she noticed herself in a puddle. She slowly walked to it and bit her bottom lip once more. Her blonde hair was all messed up, she had dirt all over her face and dress. If she didn't know any better, she would be called a homeless person. She took some leaves out of her hair and tried to wipe the dirt off her face as best as she could. But nothing else could be fixed unless she took a bath..
She tried her best to make herself look better. She fixed her hair and dress a bit, it was torn pretty good, but not badly enough to where it couldn't be worn. She'd just have to make a new dress out of it. Thankfully she had stolen some money from her masters. She stole just enough to buy her a house and things she needed. All she hoped was that it would last her until she found a way to earn more.
Once she was fixed up she ran into one of the alleyways to hide from the crowds. She didn't want to be seen like this. She wanted to find somewhere to wash up and fix her dress before she made any appearances. She walked fast, and made sure to look everywhere for what she needed. But because she wasn't exactly paying attention in front of her, she suddenly bumped into someone, causing her to fall backwards and into a puddle. She let out a shriek as she hit the ground. Now she was not only dirty, but wet as well, causing her to groan. "Oh god.." She whimpered out before she looked up to see who she bumped into. But when she saw it was James Frollo, the son of the man who ordered the death of supernaturals, her green eyes widened.
Suddenly she jumped onto her feet and backed away fast. "P-please don't kill me." She begged, not wanting him to kill her. He was probably stalking her this whole time and was waiting for the right moment to strike, and this was it. "Please, I was changed against my will." She begged again as her hands were held out in front of her.

James heard footsteps a few feet in front of him, not bothering to raise his head to see who it was. It was probably just someone trying to escape the crowd like he was and all he would have to do is shift over a few steps if they didn't move first. Before he had the chance to step to the side, he felt a small form slam into his chest and fall onto the ground right into a puddle. Water splashed over his boots as he looked down to see a blonde haired girl covered in dirt down at his feet. Without even having a chance to offer her a hand or say a word to her, fear filled the girls eyes and she jumped away from him, begging for her life. His eyes widened in surprise, unsure of what she was talking about; that is until he realized that she must have known who he was. He held up us hands as a surrender to her and took a step back. "Relax miss, I'm not going to hurt you." What had given this girl the idea that he was like his father, he had no idea. When she mentioned being changed against her will, he immediately knew that she meant she had become a supernatural. He jumped forward, forgetting that he was trying to calm this girl down, and clamped his hand on top of her mouth. "Don't say that in public, someone could hear you. Come with me." His voice was an urgent whisper as he grabbed her hand and raced through the alley until they made it to his house. He quickly ushered her inside before locking the door behind him, looking out the peephole to make sure that they weren't followed.

Ariel's expression changed from scared to confused the moment he told her he wasn't going to hurt her. But the expression before that came back the moment he rushed over her placed a hand over her mouth. Ariel immediately grabbed his hand, ready to attack. But when he told her not to say what she just did in public, she felt herself tense a little. He wasn't going to kill her? That question was fully answered once he grabbed her hand and brought her to his house. Green eyes looked at the house wide and could feel herself shaking already. Why was he bringing her here? She felt like she could already feel his father's presence staring at her. It was probably from her being paranoid, but she didn't really blame her feelings on that any more. Usually it was true what she was feeling. Just this time she was hoping her powers were wrong.
Once he locked the door and confirmed no one followed them, Ariel held onto her hands an looked at him with a worried expression. "W-why did you bring me here?" She asked as she looked around the room they were in. Her senses were going haywire and she felt as if she was being watched at every corner in the room. It was enough to make her a little bit insane. But she kept her composure. She didn't exactly like being in the house of the very man who ordered the death of her kind. If she hadn't been turned, she probably would've felt a lot better, and a lot safer.
"And why are you making sure no one followed us? Didn't your Dad.." Ariel stopped her sentence, not really wanting to finish it. Plus she knew he knew what she was going to say. Plus her expression showed that all to well how she was feeling right now. She was even fiddling with her hands she was so scared. "Why am I here?" She asked feeling more and more unsafe each second she was here.

James could feel how uncomfortable she was but that wasn't a priority at the moment. Once he was sure no one had followed them, the tension released from his shoulders and he turned to face the girl he had just brought into his home. "Like I said, I'm not going to hurt you. You should really watch what you blurt out to strangers in public. What would you have done if a guard had walked by?" He moved about the main room, closing all of the curtains to keep out prying eyes when he noticed her gaze constantly moving about, most likely looking for some escape plan or something. "Stop freaking out so much, my father doesn't live here. This is my house. You're safe." James still couldn't understand why this girl was so worried, but his father did have a reputation and to his guess, everyone thought it was the same for him. With a heavy sigh, he gave up and walked over to the bar, pouring himself a drink before falling back into a chair. He wasn't going to go anywhere near her until she felt somewhat comfortable and would listen to what he had to say. Though he knew this girl couldn't possibly harm him, he made sure to keep a close eye on her. "Help yourself. The alcohol will sooth your nerves." He gestured towards the bar with his glass, letting her know it was okay. Surely she would feel more comfortable getting it herself so she wouldn't have to worry about him drugging her.

The moment he started scolding her, she looked at him in even more confusion. What would she have done if a guard had walked by? The question made her twitch a bit. No, what would she have done? She'd probably have to kill that's for sure. She watched as he closed the curtains before telling her to stop freaking out before stating his father wasn't here. The moment she heard that she felt all of her worries almost vanish. Which meant all those things she was sensing was just her own paranoia. Finally she wasn't right. But that didn't mean she was going to let her guard down. Green eyes stayed on the man and watch him pour himself a drink before falling onto the chair. He then offered her some, making her look at the drinks he had.. She wasn't one to drink, but he did have white wine, and she always liked having a glass of that.
Ariel held her hands tightly together before walking to the bar. She took the white wine bottle that had been already opened and poured it into the nearest empty glass. Once it was filled just a little bit, she took a sip of it. Immediately she could feel herself overwhelmed with the taste and the effect of the wine. It was a nice feeling. She took a few more sips before she felt like she was calm enough to talk again.
She placed her glass on the table. "To answer your question, I don't know what I would've done.. This honestly hasn't been the greatest night for me." She confessed before looking at him finally. "All I was thinking about was trying to find a place to wash up and fix my dress.."

James watched her as she made her way to the bar, almost smirking at her choice of drink. White wine...that was one of his secret favorites. He eyed her curiously before setting his glass down on the coffee table, standing up slow enough to not make her flinch. "Come with me, you can take care of that first." His voice almost sounded like a command as he headed up the stairs, not even bothering to make sure she was following him first. First stopping by his bedroom, he grabbed a pair of silk pajamas from his drawer and a robe for her to change into. He made his way into the bathroom and without saying a word to her, began to fill the tub with some hot water he had set aside boiling in the corner almost all day long. It had become a habit of his, since he didn't like having servants around, he had to be a little innovative with his daily activities. He placed the clothes he had grabbed on the counter next to a soft towel and turned to her. "Go ahead and wash up, we can deal with pleasantries once you're comfortable. I don't have any extra dresses laying around so I hope those will do. They'll be a little big for you, but that's what the robe is for. I'll be downstairs whenever you're finished." He brushed past her as he left the room to give her some privacy before she could object. Once he was downstairs, he collapsed back into his chair and ran his hand through his hair. He was so exhausted...

Ariel tensed a bit at how he sounded like he was commanding her to go with him. But the look on his face and how he handled his posture showed her otherwise. She took one more sip of her wine before following him. She looked around his house and noticed how clean it was. What did he pay his servants to get them to do such a good job? Though when she noticed a picture of him and his father, she froze a little and stared at it. James didn't look really happy in the picture, and Frollo didn't look pleased. She studied the picture further and noticed how tightly Frollo was holding onto James' shoulder. It almost looked like they were mad at each other. This made her eyes narrow a little bit in curiousity before she noticed how far James had gotten from her.
Ariel took no time and caught up to him before realizing he had grabbed a very beautiful robe. A robe that was her favorite color. Lilac. She followed him into the bathroom and watched as he started her bath. She tilted her head and was about to tell him that she could do that herself. But he was already done and told her how he didn't have dresses around, how the pajamas were going to be a bit big on her. She was about to thank him, but he brushed past her, leaving her to hold the pajamas and robe. She looked down at them and studied them.
Ariel saw where she needed to sew the pajamas to make them fit. If only she had her thread and needle she would be able to fix it, but for right now the robe was going to do that job. Ariel then slipped off her dress and undergarments. Once naked she proceeded to take her bath. She made sure to wash every part of her.
Once she was done she got out and dried herself enough to where she could put on her new clothes. Once the robe was on, Ariel brushed her hair before cleaning up after herself. She then exited the bathroom and made her way back to the place where James had brought her first. Finding that was probably the only place she was allowed to be right now. She entered the room and stood there in her lilac robe that showed off her figure well. It even looked great against her skin and hair color. And it really made her eyes pop out. She stared at the floor before noticing some moonlight coming from one of the curtains that wasn't closed all the way. Her eyes immediately found the curtain and looked at the moon that was peeking out from behind the curtains. It looked even more brighter then it did before. It was beautiful..
But she knew that it meant the night was halfway over.

James had sprawled out in his chair with one leg propped up on the coffee table as his arm hung over the sides, his fingertips holding the glass by the very top over the edge of the chair. He imagined that it would take this strange girl a while to make herself presentable once again so he took the opportunity to relax. It was so unlike him to let a stranger into his home, but he could tell this girl had been in trouble all night long. He felt pity for her honestly. When he heard her come down the stairs, his exhaustion made it hard for him to do much but look up slightly, his hazel eyes cutting through the room until they landed on her. When his gaze landed on her, he felt the glass nearly slip out of his fingertips as he was starstruck by her beauty. The robe he had given her hugged at her every curve, her eyes almost piercing through him. He cleared his throat as he forced himself into a more appropriate position and took one last drink before setting the glass on the table. "Feel free to sit down, I don't bite." He gestured to any of the open seats around him, giving her plenty of choices for her to be comfortable with. "Now I'm assuming you already know who I am, James Frollo. Son of the religious leader in town and so on. Believe me, it's not as impressive at they say. But I still don't even know your name miss." He didn't bother to hide the small annoyance in his voice as he talked about himself, clearly fed up with all of the buzz going around when he shows up anywhere in town.

"Feel free to sit down, I don't bite."
Ariel finally looked at James when she heard his voice. In a way she forgot he was there when she noticed the moon. Thankfully he spoke or else she would've been staring at the moon the whole time. She studied the chairs and decided to sit in one that looked the most comfiest. Once she sat down he started to introduce himself. When he stated how she already knew who he was, she couldn't help but smile. Who didn't know him? It was kind of a silly question. But when he said it wasn't impressive as it was made to seem, her eyes narrowed curiously. "Being the son of someone so powerful isn't impressive?" She asked, not really understanding why he would say that. Hopefully she wasn't going to strike a nerve though. Especially since he sounded annoyed.
Ariel looked away from him when he asked about her name. Not really sure if she should tell him. A part of her was still worried about him being Frollo's son. But he was already showing her how different he was. Plus if he was going to hurt her he would've done it by now. Maybe she could finally trust someone.
Her eyes looked back into his and let a small smile come out. "Ariel, my name is Ariel. And thank you for helping me out.. I'll hopefully be out of your hands in the morning." She said before looking back down at her hands. "Hopefully they aren't in town in the morning.." She said to herself. Though she didn't know she had spoke the last sentence loudly.

James smirked as he watched her, enjoying how she was so focused on the moon that he hated to have interrupted her. He was glad when she finally sat down. Her standing up kept his nerves on edge and he really wasn't in the mood for that. "Trust me, it's anything but." He rolled his eyes and downed the last of his drink in one quick gulp. When she told him her name, he couldn't help the smile that came to his lips. "It's very nice to meet you Miss Ariel. Don't worry about being here, you can stay as long as you need to. I won't bother you if you choose to do so." He made his way back to the bar and poured himself one last drink. As he stood there, he glanced at the small portrait of his father and mother sitting on the shelf before reaching up and laying it face down so he wouldn't have to look at it. The last thing he needed was to imagine his father lecturing him about his drinking when he was the reason for it in the first place. At the mention of 'they' in her last comment, he couldn't help but turn around and give her a curious look. "So you were running from someone...I figured as much. I knew a young girl like yourself wouldn't go around like that if she could help it."

"So you were running from someone.."
Ariel's head immediately shot up when he spoke about that. Her eyes wide. Had she really said that louder then she thought? This made her bite her bottom lip. Even if he was already suspicious of what she was doing, it didn't mean she liked him knowing. Heck now that she thought about it, she was even putting him in danger by being here. Her nails clawed at her skin as she then looked down and tried to calm herself down. She had no idea what was going on, but just by mentioning them she felt just as scared as she did when she escaped them. But maybe he could help her? Wait.. he was a human though, there was no way he would be able to beat them. Suddenly flashbacks came back to her, causing her to wince.
The red demon grabbed a hold of Ariel's chin and forced her to look up at him. "If you resist us one more time Ariel, I'll make sure he doesn't hold back on your torture." Thrax hissed before he grabbed a hold of the girl's blonde hair. Causing to cry out in pain. She tried to push him away but her efforts were for nothing. He was far stronger than her, and no matter how much they trained her, they made sure she was weaker. Just so they could torture her every night. Her green eyes stared at the demon, blood trickling down her face. They had forced her healing to turn off. Wanting to enjoy every ounce of her screams.
But tonight she wasn't cooperating. She was learning quick how to deal with the pain and she didn't like that. It was enough to make the demon throw her to the ground before he pinned her on the ground and stabbed his claw into her chest. He went deeper and deeper into her until she finally started to scream. And once she did, that was when the real torture happened.. Leaving her bruised for a couple of days before her healing would turn on once more.
Ariel forced the memory out of her head and squeezed her hands tighter. "I'm on the run from my masters.. They turn me into what I am. All because they wanted to add me to the war against the humans and supernaturals.. Because they didn't want your Dad to kill them, well us without a fight. After that they tortured me and forced me to become what they wanted me to become." She said, breathing a bit heavy as she felt tears welling up in her eyes. "All because of that law Frollo forced upon everyone," Tears fell from her eyes, "And now I can't go home because I'll put my parents and twin brother in danger.. If they found out they were hiding me, I'm sure they'd be killed. And I had to tell them I ran away with my secret brother so they are still kept in the dark, wondering where I am.." She said before she winced and noticed the blood trickling from her hand.
Ariel immediately moved her hands away from another. Once they were away she watched as the small cuts healed. Causing her eyes to softened. Even if she liked having that power, sometimes she wished she was still human. She'd rather feel pain then nothing at all..

James watched her as he leaned against the bar as he stared down at her, seeing that she was dealing with some kind of inner conflict. When she spoke about the proclamation, he couldn't help but grimace. He knew that the law was hard on everyone, but he never imagined that something like this would happen to such an innocent girl. Suddenly losing his appetite for alcohol, he left his glass on the bar as he moved and lounged on the couch across from her. "My father is just throwing a tantrum. I never planned for it to escalate this far and now there is nothing I can do about it." His hand ran through his hair as he spoke, his eyes glazed with guilt. This proclamation was killing so many and his father hadn't found any type of cure for his condition. "If you stay here, no one will find you. No one suspects anything from me so it's the perfect place." He glanced over at her as his body began to buzz with energy once again. An annoyed grunt flew past his lips as he laid back on the couch. It happened every time he got worked up about something and now he wouldn't be able to sleep for a few more days.

Ariel looked up at him when he sat across from her and spoke about his father having a tantrum. She raised her eyebrows in curiosity. "A tantrum? Why would he do that? And what do you mean you didn't plan for this to happen?" She asked a bit confused. Did he bring up the subject about supernaturals to his father? As these questions ran through her head, she started to feel a bit ill, causing her gaze to soften. Her hand went to her forehead to calm herself down. She almost didn't catch him telling her that she could stay here, that no one would suspect anything from him. Which made her look back at him, which made her a bit more dizzy. Why did she feel like this? What was wrong with her? And that was when it hit her..
She had used all her energy and the last time she fed on something was a few days ago. Great.
"I don't want to intrude.. I'm not exactly the safest thing to be around." She said as she looked at her hand while starting to feel hungry. She just had to fight that guy in the woods, didn't she? If she had just left it alone she would be fine right now. But the fact she almost got to her limit fighting him was what hurt her in the end. And she didn't want to feed on this guy.. She had, had enough of feeding off of people. Thrax and Shan-yu had forced her to do that plenty of times. They would always erase their memories but the memory was always there with her.. Why couldn't they destroy her memories as well?
Suddenly she felt her heart beat, causing her to wince a little bit. This made her mentally curse, hating this feeling she was getting. She needed to find a way to stop this feeling, and fast.

James cursed silently to himself as she started to ask him questions. He was so focused on his drinking that he hadn't even realized how much he had said out loud. "That's another story for another time." A slight edge showed in his voice as his gaze flicked up and bore down on her. He had just made a promise to his father that he wouldn't tell anyone about what happened that night, even though he was dying to talk to someone about it. When she winced, his whole demeanor softened when he realized that she probably wasn't in the condition to talk just yet. "I'm being rude, you must be starving." With that, he left her alone for a few minutes as he made his way into the kitchen to fix something up for her. He made piles of his best fruit and meats on a large silver platter, making sure to put generous portions of each one. Thanks to the newfound speed he had obtained from his slow transformation, it didn't take him any longer than just a few minutes before he was already back out in the main room carrying the tray of food to her. "Hopefully there is something you can enjoy here..." He words slid to a stop when he realized he didn't even know what kind of supernatural she was and if she could even eat real food anymore.
