Odette took a stroll in the garden, two of her handmaidens directly behind her. Her mind kept going over what happened the previous night, the image of those men sneering down at her would stick with her for a long time. Her mother had stayed with her the whole night, giving her mulled wine and treating her with a loving kindness. It was rare when her mother was even able to visit her, much less a whole night. Yet she had taken the time to do just that, her mother could be calculating and devious but Odette knew she was loved by her. |

Phillip was on a tour by himself to explore the castle, one of his possible future homes, to get to know the place better without having Frollo or anyone else around who is trying to influence him to their will. As he reached the gardens he quickly recognized a familar face though it wasn´t too hard to guess with the handmaidens around the princess. Slowly he walked over to her and sent away the maidens to give them some privacy. Can´t blame him for wanting to get to know his possible bride better right? With a head bow he greeted her.

Odette was brought out of her thoughts as Phillip approached. "Prince Phillip." She said and curtseyed before raising her gaze to meet his. "To what do I owe the honor?" She asked as she studied him curiously. Prince Phillip hadn't really spoken to her since his arrival and Odette had wondered if he had even planned on seeing her. Though, she supposed it was just as well since John didn't seem to like Phillip all that much.

"Oh princess the honer surely is mine now that I finally get to actually speak with you." He said with a chuckle smiling gently at her. "With all the plans for us to marry we at least deserve that much to get to know each other a little first don´t you think?" Without taking too much of her personal space away he carefully took her hand to give it a handkiss. "I´m not sure how much you heard about me but I´ve heard some things about you and well what can I say ... I just want to make sure that YOU will be happy no matter what we or our parents decide for us." He told her as honestly as he could which was so far always very believable. With that he let go of her hand again.

Odette gave him a small smile, "You are too kind Your Highness." She said, her smile growing a little more as he kissed the back of her hand. At his other words, she silently wondered just what it was that he heard. "Oh, well that is very kind of you. I hope I can make you happy as well." She said gently. She moved forward and waited for him to join her, "Have you enjoyed your stay at the Kingdom, so far Your Highness?" Odette asked as she glanced over at him.

As expected he joined her side and offered her his arm as manners would tell him to do. "Yes, I have indeed. For what I have seen until now it´s a really beautiful country. I wished though I could get to know the people better. Would you mind maybe telling me some more about your home?"

Odette felt herself relax just a little bit as he offered her his arm. His question made her smile, "But of course Your Highness, would you prefer to learn more about the history or what our kingdom has to offer?" She asked gently as she smiled prettily up at him. Odette was well versed in the history of the kingdom, most of it being due to her tutors while the rest was due to Odette's own curiosity. The one thing she wished she was more knowledgable in was the affairs of the people.

"Well I doubt that more knowledge could hardly harm, how about both? Especially when I have the opportunity to have you as a teacher." He said with a playful wink at her when then eventually started to walk through the gardens. Phillip actually already did know some about the history and the kingdom itself but now the chance was good to increase and proof if his studies were right, not to mention that he could get closer to Odette.

Odette nodded, she could understand that. So she gave him a run through of how the first King, Mythos was part God or so the legends said and how he had made Paradise a safe haven for all. As the years passed, Paradise had become less peaceful and Mythos passed the crown onto his only son and heir Verik. And so it had continued, father and son until these present times. Paradise was situated in a provincial area, where most of the trade routes ran along. They had a lot of influence with other Kingdoms and while Paradise didn't have a large military, they made up for it with what they could offer. Of course people had tried taking over the Kingdom in the past and no doubt would continue trying. However due to the alliances that Paradise had, it would take a very bold person to try and start another war. "Is there anything else you'd like to know?" Odette asked as she moved to sit on a bench next to a bubbling stream.

Phillip listened carefully to what told him and nodded every now and then. However not really much of what he was told about the history was that new for him. His parents surely had maded sure that he wasn´t only a good fighter but as well well educated. "Well how about you tell me some more about yourself?" He suggested as he sat down next to her.

Odette watched as he moved to sit next to her, "What's to tell? I love reading and horseback riding. Mother made sure I was well educated, although I've always enjoyed learning." Odette confessed with a little blush, her brother John was more proactive. He enjoyed learning how to fight, ruling a kingdom and of course outdrinking some of his men in competitions. The last was one he had been careful with, after all he didn't want to be known as the drinking Prince. "What about you? What sorts of things do you enjoy doing?" Odette asked curiously.

"Horseback riding?" He repeated with a happy smile. "Oh I surely hope we get the chance to ride together then some time. I´m sure you are quite the admirable sight on the back of a horse." Phillip suggested before he quickly thought about what to tell her now. He surely did like doing some things, but heobviously could neither tell her about his deep love and desire for power as well as his sure liking of some powerfull company for some ... physical fun. "Well besides getting prepared to be a great ruler I try to educate myself in knowledge as well as skills, mostly fighting skills, whenever I got enough time and power to concenrate on. However when I try to relax I prefer spending my time riding as well or visiting the city, getting to know the people better first hand."

Odette blushed at the slight insinuation, "I'd like the opportunity to ride with you." She said demurely. As he continued speaking, she brightened "That sounds like my brother, he's always learning things like that." Odette said with a little laugh. Her expression softened as she thought of her twin brother, she hoped things were going well with him and Giselle. "What's it like in Maghden?" She asked curiously. Odette had of course read the history texts but it was always fascinating to hear it from a different perspective.
