James made his way down the isle of the church, his eyes glued to the stain glass portrait that decorated the altar standing before him. The light from the setting sun sent rainbows of color throughout the church, truly giving the room a heavenly effect. Even though he wasn't a religious man like his father, James had always found comfort here. His favorite times to come were when there was hardly a soul in the building. He stood in silence as he stared up at the fixtures, almost like he was praying. Maybe if he tried to have some faith, he could find a solution to all of this mess. A solution to giving his father back his sanity.

Anastasia entered the church covered in a thick cloak. Even though the sun was shining bright outside, inside the holy halls it always was cold and even got colder since the proclamation. At least in her oponion it was. As part of Anastasias strict shedule she came for prayers and confession in the first place though no matter the temperatures it also was kind of a peaceful haven for her since for the greater being everyone inside this place was the same which made her comfortable. Walking through the big hall she passed the colorful windows while she lost all sense of what else was around her, even the stranger in with she just bumped into making her fall on the floor. "I-I-I`m so sorry!"

James was brought out of his thoughts when he felt a sudden force slam into his form. He whipped his head around just in time to see a red haired girl fall onto the ground. He quickly knelt down beside her, offering her a hand. "My apologies miss, I didn't pick the best of spots to stop and daydream." A small chuckle left his lungs as he spoke. Daydreaming always seemed to get him in trouble, especially these days.

"Oh no, it surely was all my fault for not watching where I go." Anastasia said as she took his hand and let him help her getting up again. "Thank you very much."

"It's no trouble at all." James gave her a soft smile. He soon realized that he had never met this woman before, despite the fact that he was sure she was a regular here. "I don't come here very often so I don't believe we've met. My name is James."

For a moment Anastasia stared at him with wide opened eyes. How could she dare not to introduce herself? Good thing her parents weren´t around she thought to herself. They surely would have made her regret this really quick. With a gentle smile she made a curtsy and gave him a headbow. "I´m Anastasia Tremaine, pleasured to meet you James."

James gave her a curtious bow. "The pleasure is mine Miss Tremaine." He was silently grateful that she didn't know who he was. It was nice having a break from the formalities and worried looks he always received from strangers in passing. Ever since the proclamation, people have started avoiding him like the plague, not that he minded. He enjoyed his time alone.

"Is it the first time you visit the church?" Anastasia asked curious since she couldn´t recall seeing him even once though she came here quite regualary to all kinds of times. Simply whenever she was forced to like the weekly service or when she actually wanted to be here to have some peace and time just for herself. However James did remind her of someone. Maybe he was related to a noble or wealthy family?

"I've come before...it's Just been a few years." James frowned slightly but quickly dismissed the thought. The church was his last resort when he needed comfort, taking any chance he could to avoid his father. He motioned to a pew that was not far from where they were standing. "I hate to take up your time, feel free to sit." he gave her a soft smile

"A few years?" Anastasia repeated suprised. She sure was well aware that not all people were as religious like her and her family or simply didn´t have the time like her to visit the church that often. However it still was strange for her. "Oh, no you are not taking away any time at all. The church I get to visit often enough as well as praying but meeting people without having to is rather rare for me."

James ran a hand through his hair as he spoke. "It's strange, I know. My father is usually here most days so I tend to stay away. I've never liked bothering him while he's working." He took a seat at the pew and stared up at the stained glass windows again. "It is very beautiful here though. How often do you visit?"

Anastasia cuckled at his explanation. "Oh I know that feeling very well. That´s one reason I spend quite some time here. Uhm ... of course it´s not like i hate my parents. I don´t at all but they can be quite ... difficult to be with ... at least for me ..." She said getting more quite and sad with each word before she eventually turned silent until James spoke again. "Yes, it really is beautiful here. It´s a building yet there is so much space in here and the colorful windows are just great."

"Believe me, I know how parents can be." James laughed as he spoke and glanced over at her. "Pardon me if this is a little personal, but I'm assuming you're a noble...they must be pushing you for marriage huh?" He knew what it was like for a woman of her status. It would have been the same for him if it wasn't for his secret. That was one upside at least, he thought. He didn't have to worry about his father pushing him to find a wife or start a family.

For a moment Anastasia got to laugh a little again. "Uhm yes I am and oh ... you have no idea. Guess I can be happy my parents didn´t seal a match yet ... How about you?" She returned the question.

James shook his head and laughed. "No, my father isn't concerned about me marrying anyone right now. He has other things to worry about." Since James' mother wasn't around anymore, Claude spent most of his time working or something. James was never sure what his father did in his spare time. Maybe that's why they never got along..
