After Jane had found a place to settle down the other day she thought that now it would be time to do some more research of the city. Since she didn´t want to get involved with too much humans at the same time she thought increasing her knowledge by books would be the best option so she decided to search for a library or a book store, which ever would appear first. Apparently a rather big book store won in the end. As she went inside she jumped once as she heard the bell caused to ring by her opening the door. Strange humans! Once she was inside the store there already was who she supposed to be the owner waiting for her and welcomed her right away before he offered her his help. When she knew where she would find what she was searching for Jane took out the first book that appeared to be of use just to almost throw it back into the bookshelf. How could she have been that stupid? All the books were written in human language which she was lucky able to speak but neither read nor write! "Dirthara-ma!"

Proteus was walking in the village with Vanessa. It was something Vanessa usually did in the day. She would buy things not only for him, but herself. She usually bought new dresses, but when the night came she would buy potions from witches. And she would test those potions on him to see which ones actually worked. And whichever one that didn't work she'd make sure the witch that sold it to her would pay. She wouldn't kill them, but she'd make them see their death if they lie to her again. It was always painful to watch, but if he didn't want her to take him over and force him to kill them he had to watch. Every time he took over him, his body could barely handle it. He was a human, so everything she did to him hurt him to an extinct. Vanessa had made sure to not to give him any powers. Cause if she did, he would be far gone by now..
"I think I'll let you go into that favorite book store of yours. I have to handle some business you humans aren't allowed to see."
"Oh I'm actually allowed to go before you're finished? I'm so grateful." Proteus said as he rolled his eyes.
Vanessa's eyes narrowed at how he spoke to her, causing her to stand closer to him. "I'd watch your tone. You've been very rude today and I don't know if I'm liking it. Do I need to remind you who is in charge?" She asked as her hand suddenly grabbed his. Immediately making him feel weak and dizzy.
"Okay, okay, I'll stop! Just leave me alone! I'll go." He breathed out as he felt his knees about to give out. But when she let go of him he felt all of his energy return, making him a bit more dizzy.
"Good. Now get out of my face." She said as she waved her head, forcing him to go into the bookstore.
Once in the book store, Proteus let out a breath. He hated when she controlled him just to get him to go where she wanted him to. Having no power over your body killed him. If she was ever to be done with him, she could force him to walk straight into a sword and instantly kill him. Hell she could even get him deathly ill. All with one little flick of her hand. He hated it. But once he felt her power no longer over him, he sighed as he walked to the section about demons. Maybe he would find a book that would actually help him for once. But once he passed by it, he heard someone speak, causing him to stop to look where they voice came.
The voice came from a beautiful brunette who seemed to be looking at a book in frustration. This made his eyebrow raised as he slowly walked to her. Was she having a hard time reading? Maybe he could help, he knew this book store like the back of his hand. "Hello ma'am, do you help?" He asked as he bowed a little to her, making his presence known.

Annoyed about her own foolishness Jane sighed, almost moaned in disappointement. Where could she find a teacher for this language? Or would she be able to learn the reading at all with this stupid proclamation? Just then she got thrown out of her thoughts as she noticed someone approaching her. When she turned to see who just talked to her she gulped. Great, another nice handsome human ..., she thought to herself almost feelinf like she had to cry out. Since she came to Paradise she got more and more confused what about to think about humans. What if they were like elves? Sure, they had to be bad ones but all in all they were just normal, helpful, caring beings?
"Uhm thanks for the offer but I doubt you could help me. I uhm ... apparently ... okay truth to be told I can´t read ... at least not this language." She replied crossing her arms as she looked away ashamed, hoping he at just wouldn´t laugh at her or worse.
