To her great relief Jane had been able to actually find herself a permanent stay which even appeared to be quite safe. However yet she just wasn´t able to sleep no matter in what position she layed in her bed. After about an hour, or maybe more, of trying she eventually gave up and stood up to dress herself again. Once she was done with that she checked her hair, grabbed her coat and walked out of her room and out of the inn.
Outside it prooved that it was already late since there weren´t by far not that many people as there would be during day so the streets and even the big places where almost till completely empty. Walking around she enjoyed the almost silence and experienced the city some more. It surely was diffrent at day and night. Then after some time eventually she reached the harbor where she sat down on the bench with a greath look at the sea.

Miguel strolled along the promenade admiring the bay and the view stretched out before him. It was was simply perfect. He was staring intently at the clear sky, the stars overshadowed by the moonlight. Soon Miguel found himself with his lute in his hands in a hundred paces away from a girl, sitting all alone. He went a little closer to see if she was alright... "No, it can't be!", the young man's heart skipped a beat. It truly was Jane! The elf, who he bumped into just a day ago! Miguel stood still for a moment and smiled slyly. He touched the strings and went in her direction from behind, singing a song, he got to know from a bard, he met a few years ago: "...We sing, rejoice, We tell the tales, We laugh and cry, We love one more day!" |

After a time Jane closed her eyes, enjoying the soughing of the sea and the comfortable breeze better, so she didn´t notice someone approaching right away but when she did she just had to smile. Whoever was here at the promenade with her sure had a wonderful voice she could listen hours to. Slowly she opened her eyes and turned her head to where the the sweet song was coming from and when she found the source she just had to smile more and moved a little on the bench to give Miguel some more place to sit down.

Miguel continued playing his lute, while he sat down next to the girl. He stopped singing, because the music spoke for itself. The wind gently blew their hair as both of them sighlently watched the waves softly beating on the sandy shore. Miguel's fingers slowly stopped strumming against the lute. He turned his head to Jane and broke the silence: "I've learned that song from an elf, I met while I was abroad..." He shrugged his shoulders and smiled, "I hope you liked it!"

Jane almost jumped as he revealed it was an elven song he had just sung. Could he possibly? ... And if so now would that be a good or bad sign? For a moment she thought back at the night she had spent at his home. Sure, she woke up in a weird position but her ears still have been covered in the morning! "Aren´t you afraid to be marked as supernatural friend?"

"I'm honored to call myself a friend of yours," he smiled and leaned back on the bench, putting his lute away from his arms. "Sorry, for not telling you. I woke up in the night and, well,.." He spread his hands in apology. "You know, you rushed away so quickly, that I didn't have a chance,.." Miguel contined talking and shyly looked down at the ground. He sighed and looked right into Jane's eyes, "..to ask you if you want to join me on the masquerade ball tomorrow night?"
"Does it counts as a an invitation for a date?", he thought for a moment and blushed a little. Well, even if it was, he hoped that her amswer would be "yes"...

"WHAT!?!?!?!?" Jane always screamed out and even though she didn´t really have a reason she was damn angry at him right in that moment and stood up, pouting, and turned away to leave. STUPID DAMN MIGUEL! However before she actually left she turned around, glaring angry at him while she was still pouting, her hands turned into fists. "Meet me at the entrance ... and don´t be late!" With that she left and went back to her stay where she calmed down after a time and realised that even though Miguel knew about her true nature, well the elven one, he didn´t betray or leave her but instead even wanted to go to such a big happening together with her! Surely he was a strange human.
