Away from the chaos that had broken out in the ballroom, the castle grounds were peaceful. The sun had set long ago and the darkness of the night brought with it a beautiful veil of stars. It was cold, being October, but not unpleasantly so. Wrapping his cape around the yound woman attached to his arms, Facilier breathed heavily under his mask. His eyes flickered from the castle yard to the young woman, who seemed to have calmed slightly though was still gripping tight onto his arm. "Come now, take a seat. You're fine, I'm fine, everything is going to be fine." He said almost softly. He'd learned to mimic many emotions over the years, but concern was one he could never quite nail. The pair took a seat on the side of a fountain and Facilier removed his mask revealing the rest of his face.

The man had wrapped his cape around her. Marina felt quite shaken when they both had gotten away from the chaos inside the ballroom. She nodded at him when he spoke to her again and sat down. "Thank you for saving me," she said after a while. For a second time, someone had saved her life. And even from someone with magic. She shivered as she looked back to the castle. Those poor people, Marina thought and removed her mask as well drying away some tears.

Facilier stared at the girl for a few seconds, fascinated. She seemed so vulnerable, so naïve. It threw him off. "My pleasure." He said with a smile, a well rehearsed line of his. He held out his hand to the woman with a charismatic grin "Facilier, by the way. Didn't catch your name, my dear.' He cocked his head to the side slightly as he wanted for her answer.

"Marina," she replied to him with a little smile. She couldn't help but wonder if everything was going to be okay for the rest inside there. And that spirit, she seemed so powerful.

"Marina... Lovely name for a lovely lady." He said with a small chuckle. He quickly scanned her face, detecting her concern "The royal guards are amoung the best in the whole of Paradise, they will find a way to contain that spirit. I'm sure everyone else will be fine." He said, albeit slightly dully. He wasn't concerned in the least about the other party goers, all of them were stuck up and selfish in his eyes. But it was important for the woman he was with to feel at ease around him, to feel safe in his presence.

"If you say so," she replied slowly wrapping her arms around her. She just couldn't understand why that spirit wanted to hurt all of them. What did she want? Marina felt to scared that she wasn't able to summon her own spirits for help. "Shouldn't we do anything to help them?"

He glanced at the girl, giving her an odd look. He did not expect her to ask that, perhaps this girl was braver than she looked. "What can the two of us do? They have everything under control, the best thing we can do is help any survivors. Going back inside would be suicidal, my dear." He stood from the fountain and turned to Marina and beckoned her with a crooked finger "Perhaps taking a walk would put your mind at rest?"

He was right. What could both of them do? Well, he could possibly get everyone to safety through his shadows like he did with her. Marina herself wasn't so sure. She could possibly have summoned her spirits, but she never used them to battle others. She sighed heavy. She just wanted them to be safe. But she didn't want to die from her family. "You're right," she said. She nodded to his suggestion. Maybe while they took a walk, maybe they would find survivors and help them?

Facilier smiled at the girl, glad he'd been able to convince her. "I've heard that the castle can look just as beautiful at night as it does in the day, I've always wondered if that was true. But now I have someone to share it with." He knew flirting in this moment was completely absurd, but this one was fun to play with. Her concern for the other's intrigued him, most others would have been satisfied with surviving. He offered his hand to the girl, playing the gentleman as well as he could.

Marina took his hand gently. "To be honest, it is the first time I have ever been this close to the castle," Marina said with a honest smile. If it was beautiful in the night as in the daytime, then she would have special memory later.

Facilier grinned at the young lady, helping her to her feet. Delicately holding her hand up as if the were about to waltz, he walked the girl around the fountains in the palace yard. The banners were fluttering slightly in the October Breeze and the soft glow from the tall oil lamps gave the castle a magical atmosphere. "So, Marina, tell me about yourself." He said with a 'fond' smile. Information was always of use to him, after all.

"About me?" she replied surprised. "I was adopted be a group of performers when I was a child," Marina began. After all, she knew that she had to be polite and answer him. "My parents died at a storm, so now I live with my adoptive family and perform with them." She sent him a gentle smile. "Some of us use magic, so I am summoning spirits."

Facilier raised an eyebrow when Marina mentioned her adopted family. A small smirk graced his face when she mentioned she could summon spirits. "Really? I dabble in magic myself, a similar branch to your own you could say." He said carefully, scratching his chin "So, can you control the spirits you summon? Or is it more of an 'illusion'." He'd met performers in travelling shows before, their magic was fairly simple but fascinated non-magic users.

Marina smiled toward Facilier. It felt great to talk with other people who could use magic. "I'm not exactly controlling them," Marina said slowly. What she had learned was to treat the spirits with respect and make sure that both spirits and summoners had an understanding toward each other. "You might say that I do control them in a way, but with great respect for them. It makes things easier."

"Ah of course. I value respect myself, I do not like people who do not pay me respect. I always try to give my own subjects the respect they deserve." He said, a somewhat dark smile gracing his face as he did so. "Us magic users must not cross lines. Even those who choose to follow the path of dark magic must be careful."
