The square were filled with people who're doing their daily errands, everything from the normal mother who'll by the ingredients for today's meals - to the homeless people that randomly bumps into people to "borrow" their coin pouches. It was easy to blend in, and no one cared about the new woman in town. It was a unusual sight though for Laila, a marketplace that just had one kind of creature in it - humans. No one with different kinds of ears or eyes, just simply humans. Laila hated it - everything she saw. She looked at them with disgust, and she had to go away from the crowd to control herself. She stepped into an alleyway and took a deep breath. She had avoided humans for a long time, so meeting this many were overwhelming for her.

Facilier watched the woman from a nearby alley. She amused him, the distain on her face as she looked about the crowds of peasantry moving about day to day life. He moved silently, blending himself into the shadows as the young woman moved towards his alley. "Pitiful, isn't it?" He whispered, his voice smooth and calm. He did not move from the comfort of the shadows, but observed the girl with interest.

The sudden, low voice made Laila shiver - and she quickly looked for the one who talked. In the dark she could see the silhouette of a man, and she leaned her head towards the wall behind her before answering. "Me or them?" She asked with a raised eyebrow. "Are you afraid of the light, or do you just look hideous?" Laila joked as she kept her gaze towards the man in the shadows.

Facilier let out a dark chuckle. "Neither, my dear. I just prefer the comfort if the shadows." He glanced at the stranger before him, before lookimg at the busy town square once again "As for your first question, I meant them. It is pitiful, watching these peasants work so hard for so little whilst the Royals sit around and do nothing all day. The proletariat dream for a better life and the bourgeoisie get life handed to them on a silver platter. You can't help but feel pity for their insignificant existence." A dark grin formed on his face as he looked into the young woman's eyes "Are you following me, my dear?"

"No one can exist without the other." Laila said a slight smirk and never left her eyes from him. "Those with power needs someone they can control - and those without wants to be controlled. Sadly, that isn't how Paradise works today." She shrugged and stepped closer to the darkness. "Who are you, friend of shadows? The one who make orders - or the one who follows them?"

Facilier let out another chuckle "I would say that I am neither the giver or the reciever. I support those who aid me but those who disrespect me... Let's just say they don't have my full support." He stepped out of the shadows purposefully "How rude of me not to introduce myself." He held out his hand for Laila to shake "Dominic Facilier, funeral director among other things. And you are?"
