Naïveté and Manipulation (Tag: Taran)

"Another day" the young boy thought it was going to be another giant egg sale at the market. He wished that he could get off from his job and go into the woods since curiosity came onto him again. When working, he sees this guy who was leaning on his stick and thought that he could bring up the big bucks by him. "Get ye fresh morning eggs!" He called out loud and waited to see if anyone was coming the shop. No one was coming to the shop, and he was starting to get worried as though no one was going to come over, and it was one of those sales which usually happened when there was a giant bunch of people coming to get their eggs. He saw the guy having money and he gave out a coin to some woman. "Sir, do ye want some fresh eggs?" He called out to the guy and waited for him to come over..

Seeing that the guy was taking a gaze at him feel more glad that he was going to buy something with his money. He saw that he was giving him some smile that made him freak out a little but, there was all sorts of people around the area so, no difference. He did shiver a little at the guy standing in front of him but, at least he was nice to donate some money towards the shop. "Oh, you don't want to buy anything? Thank you for the grand donation though.." He said, and puts the bag of money into the box where the shop keeps the money. He felt bad for taking his money though. Taran then heard him saying that he needs to do something for the man, so, he quickly lets the boss know that he needs to help this fellow. He runs outside and bows politely to the guy. "Good day, sir. Anything I can do for you?" He asks, with a small willing smile as he was going to tell his sister that he was going to do a good deed.

At first, it was hard to get away from work to help raise money, but, doing a good for someone else could be an idea as well. He looked up at the man, and once he heard him saying all his offers, including a fair wage, it did sound better than expected. He felt as thought his pay was going to be extra than what he is getting at the egg shop, so, why not giving this a shot. "Sir, I'd be glad to help. I let my boss know that I can do your deed." He said, with a small smile. He was looking at him, as if full of wonder and he was hoping what he is going to do for this man.

This guy did look pretty excited to work with him, and he was actually pretty glad that he was able to do this deed with him. He looked up at him and thought that this deed could lead this lad to an experience that he never discovered before so, he was excited to do the job. He was excited, and at the same time, curious to see what will the duty be, and looked up right at the guy. He heard the guy introducing himself as "Dr. Facilier" and he shakes his hand. "Pleasure to meet you sir, my name is Taran; pleasure to meet you sir! I am up for any type of task, yard work, selling anything, anything you want sir. I want to prove to anyone that I can do a good deed for an adult." He said, as he shook the guy's hand. "So, what job can I offer you with, sir?" He asked, and bows his head as though he is going to be obedient for this older guy.

Seeing the guy raising an eyebrow at him made him feel as though he was pretty curious about him, but, Taran assumed that it would be in a good way, since he does want to do a good deed for this man, as he needed to prove to his boss and mother that he could do anything to make people feel more significant in their duties. He had to think positive, and that, he was going to do when doing these chores for him. He also could tell by the look in his face that he needed a good lad, which is a good sign, and of course, Taran is a hard worker as well, so, he thought that seeking the opportunity to start working for any adult, including people like this man, would raise his self-esteem to communicate more. He heard him mentioning that he needed to run a couple of errands, which seemed not too hard to do, and hoped that this would be fun to do. "Errands and items? Sounds grand. Anything that I shall get for you sir? I mean, I do have the time all day. I told my boss that I would be helping you and he said that someone would take over my shift for today." He said, as he felt his tip-toes going up and down with excitement. Finally, a different job than selling eggs for once. He wished he could he helping random people in the street instead of working at the egg shop. Once he said, "up for the challenge", Taran nods his head. "I am most ready sir!" He responds, and waits for his instructions.

As he heard that he was going to provide notes for him to follow, Taran was looking at his notebook carefully and was seeing what the notes were going to be about. He was wondering if there were going to be specific items or one item, and he was just curious to see on what were was going to be offered from him. He saw the man drawing a picture of some sort and they were ingredients that he needed for some potion, and he thought that this was going to be fun, just like a scavenger hunt! He was reading the notes carefully and saw that the first ingredient was a berry that he needed to find. "Oh, this will be fine. I love doing hunts and finding berries like this should be interesting, as I never saw these before." He said, and took the sketch from the man. "Will be back with them!!" He called out, as he went into the forest to look for them. As he was in the forest area, he was looking for them and he did find some in the deepest part of the forest and as he was looking, he was examining the sketch very carefully, and wanted to make sure that he was finding right ones. He then found them a couple of minutes later and was very confident that he found the right ones. He holds onto them very tightly as he runs back to him. "Sir, I found them. It was not bad to find them and it was fun, what is the next task?" He asked, and handed them in one of his hands.
