Selling goods in shops wasn't the only way people made money in this town. Some usually just offered their services, whether it was manual labor or otherwise. If Wendy thought about it, she would say her job was in that category. While being a servant was totally labor-intensive, she did do quite a bit of work. Then, there were those who didn't offer their services to one specific person. They offered it to the masses. This was the category that performers were usually in. And Wendy happened to see a group of them performing in the town square. She had some extra time, so she figured she might as well watch a little bit of it. She inched her way through the growing crowd, trying to get a better look.

The small spirits of fairies were circling Marina as she danced around at the stage. It was starting to get colder, so she was dressed in a dress that covered her arms. Luckily there was a big today as well, so it could be some coins for food and clothes. She and the fairies followed the rhythm to the music.

Wendy managed to make her way relatively close to the front. It looked like the woman dancing in the middle was in charge. She looked awfully pretty. The people dancing with her though, were they actually fairies? Or was it just an illusion? Wendy knew people did that sometimes when doing shows. They used elaborate costumes, smoke and mirrors, and other things to make things look all mystical and magical, even though they weren't. Either way, it was pretty interesting to Wendy. She watched along with the rest of the crowd, applauding when the woman or the fairies pulled off a cool dance move.

Marinas hands started to glow as he lifted her arms up. The fairies went up and disappeared and the dust fell down at the crowd. Children jumped up and down to touch it with big wide eyes and smiles. Marina smiled and then as her hands glowed again, the stardust surrounded her. She folded her hands like she was praying before a light glowed in front of her and then there was a new spirit of a woman, holding roses in her hands.

Wendy was spellbound. Whether it was illusion or real magic, it looked beautiful to her. All she could say was "Whoa..." as magic dust rained over the crowd. Wendy almost wished she could do stuff like this. All she could do was move stuff around with her mind, and maybe send an energy beam to knock someone out. But this looked so much prettier. She was sure Alice would love something like this.

The spirit woman was the first spirit Marina had learned to summon when she was younger. With a smile and a nod from Marina, the spirit moved toward the crowd giving away her roses to the children. She even gave to young couples in love. The last one she gave to Wendy before she floated back to the stage.

Wendy gazed at her rose in wonder. It looked so beautiful, it almost looked like it wasn't real. But it was, right down to the red petals and the thorns on the stem. She smiled at Marina with wide eyes. Was there a way for her to meet her? She seemed so nice, and her act was so amazing, way better than the usual street performers she glanced at when she was walking around town.

With that task done, Marina sent the spirit back and the show was over. People started to throw coins at the scene and some young lads whistled to Marina trying to get her attention. Marina didn't care about it, but it made her smile a little. She preferred it that people came to her and tell that they had enjoyed the show.

The performance soon ended, and people started showing their appreciating, either by throwing in some coins or whistling. Wendy still had no idea why guys did stuff like that. Did they really think girls were going to fall for stuff like that? Wendy threw in a coin of her own, and realized that the woman was on her own, for the moment. Maybe now would be a good time to talk to her. She squeezed her way through the crowd before making her way to her. "Wow. Your show was really amazing," she complimented.

(OOC: So terribly sorry for late reply, but we had a water leak yesterday, so I wasn't able to reply.)
Marina was about to help her mother to gather the coins, but her mother shook her head with a soft smile. That was a sign that Marina could relax now since she had done most of the work. Marina never thought about that that way, but she smiled back to her. Then she heard a young girls voice nearby her and she turned around. She smiled to the young girl and even noticed that she had one of the roses that her spirit had given to the crowd. "Thank you so much," Marina replied with a big smile.

((That's okay. )) The woman seemed happy to hear the compliment. Wendy was glad she could make her smile. "So, how long have you been performing?" she asked curiously. "I don't think I've seen one of your shows before." Then again, Wendy didn't get out too much, so maybe that was why. But still, she was curious. Maybe the woman was new to town. Maybe she was one of those traveling performers. That would be pretty amazing. Wendy always liked the idea of traveling the world, going to other kingdoms, seeing lots of interesting things. She doubted she would have a future like that, but still, it was fun to dream.

"I've been performing ever since I learned to summon spirits," Marina replied still smiling to Wendy. Ever since she was adopted and been taught, it had taken her three years to completely summon. "We've been here for some time now, but we've just decided to be a bit more careful to perform when there aren't any guards nearby," Marina continued honestly. Ever since the king's death, her father who was the boss of their troupe decided they had to be more careful from now on. They couldn't always rely that someone would help them, like Facilier did after the masquerade ball.

"Wow," Wendy breathed in amazement. So Marina's powers were real, and not just an illusion. She had a lot of guts, to use them in public. Then again, she did take precautions, like making sure guards weren't around, so she wasn't completely reckless. Still, Wendy admired her bravery. She wished she could do something like that with her own gift. Alice thought it was amazing, other people probably would too. But she was too scared to use it in front of others. Right now, she wanted to keep her head low and avoid any suspicion. She knew that not everybody took that path, but she felt like it was the best one for her.

She could see in Wendys eyes that she found it amusing. She would probably never tell the guards about Marina and her family. "My name is Marina," she said presenting herself. She looked at Wendy with friendly eyes and smile.

"Oh, I'm Wendy. Nice to meet you." Wendy gave a small curtsy. Part of her thought she should probably let the woman be, but she was too curious. She had never really talked to a street performer before, let alone one with magic powers. "So, do you guys travel around a lot? You've probably seen some interesting things," she said. Wendy wondered what other kingdoms were like sometimes. Did their towns look like Paradise's? Or were they different? What were kingdoms like that were in the middle of the desert, or up in the mountains? It all sounded so fascinating.
