The last thing he saw before his vision turned completely black was the dragon before him disappearing into the woman he once knew. Then his whole world became silent.
He felt at peace for the first time in a long time. Naveen flicked his eyes open and all he saw was light. His body felt light,as if he were floating through space. Just as he was about to enter complete ecstasy, his world was slammed back into darkness.
After a moment, his fingers lightly brushed against the ground. He could feel the grass beneath his fingertips and the cold dirt against his back. His eyes slowly flickered open, squeezing shut as the sunlight streamed into his vision. A groan flew past his lips as he pushed himself up, taking in his surroundings. In an instant, his body froze. He was back in the forest where he had been only hours before. The ground was disturbed, showing clear signs of a battle. Naveen's hand rose to his chest, running his fingertips across the skin. There were no flesh wounds across his chest and arms, only white scars. Blood still stained his skin and it took him a moment before the memories flashed before his eyes. How was he still alive? He had lost.
A sharp pain shot through his spine, causing him to cry out in pain. His body went rigid as his limbs suddenly began to change. He flipped over and got on his hands and knees, his body heaving what was left in his stomach onto the ground. As one last cry flew past his lips, Naveen opened his eyes, realizing how his surroundings had suddenly changed. Everything was smaller, more far away. His gaze flicked to his hands which were now replaced by a scaly paw. Naveen twisted his head and looked into the lake beside him, taking in his reflection. He was no longer a human body. A large dragon figure stood in it's place and anger flashed through him. She had turned him. She had turned him into the very beast he had hunted, the very beast that he had fought so hard to defeat. His eyes turned to a burning orange before he threw his head back and screamed. A roar filled the air, echoing through the valleys as far as the eye could see.
He had been cursed by the woman he loved. And he would have his revenge.
