Kayley made her way through the woods, her hand moving up occasionally to move a branch out of the way. It was on nights like these that she used to train with Lonette by the river, but Lonette had told her that she would be gone for a while. She frowned at the thought of not training anymore but she knew that her friend had other things to do. The least she could do was continue to go out every night like she had been and train by herself. Joseph had stopped asking questions and quite frankly, she was relieved. She wasn't sure how he'd react if he found out that she had been sneaking away to hang out with Lonette, much less learning how to fight from someone other than him. Kayley came into a clearing and looked up at the stars above her. This was the farthest she had ever gone out from the house but she had a few hours to kill. Besides, her powers were getting much stronger. Now she could control the cold and water around her like she could with heat and fire. She had kept it from Joseph of course, just in case he wouldn't approve of her changing abilities. Her mother had always told her that by the time she was twenty, she should be able to control all of the elements. So far she had two of them down so she was halfway there. A breaking branch snapped in the distance behind her and Kayley froze in place, her hands balling up into fists at her sides. Even though she could defend herself now, the idea of someone attacking her out here all alone still freaked her out a little but she did her best to push that fear down. She closed her eyes and took a deep breath before whipping around to look behind her. There was nothing but darkness, making it impossible to see into the woods behind her. She bit her bottom lip as she stared into the darkness, trying to find what had caused the sound.

Kent had kept an eye on his two sons, but he had been surprised to note that they both had women who seemed to have feelings for them. The entire idea was ridiculous and yet one of them was the Princess of the Kingdom. The other girl was a mystery but from what he had gathered she had powers of her own. Even more interesting was how Joseph hadn't sold the wretch off just yet, which only made Kent more curious about her. His son wasn't one to form attachments very easily if at all. He took after him in that way, Michael had been different being more soft and vulnerable. Yet from what Kent had seen, he had become very good at what he did. In some ways he was scarier then Joseph, but Kent knew his sons and knew his mere presence would silence them. As of right now, he was following Joseph's little puppy, and perhaps he would give her a little scare. He purposely stepped on a twig and watched with amusement as she spun around and looked to find the source. "I see someone's been training you....but I see a few weak spots." Kent said as he appeared right next to her, looking bored as he studied the chit.

Kayley had relaxed a bit when she didn't see anything around her and sighed. She was just being paranoid, that's all. Just as she turned, her body bumped into a hard figure causing her to freeze in motion. A male voice sounded in her ears and her gaze flew up to see a man much taller and clearly stronger than her standing before her. She squeaked before she took a quick step back, her feet stumbling over each other causing her to fall back onto her butt on the ground. Her hands managed to catch behind her so her head didn't hit the ground but she was cursing herself for getting into such a vulnerable position. The man seemed to tower over her and she could already feel her body involuntarily shaking in fear. "What do you want? There is never anyone in the woods this deep so you must want something." She kept her gaze hard as she stared at the man, doing her best to keep her voice steady and strong. In a way, he reminded her much of Joseph and Michael but she knew it couldn't be possible. They were alone, that much she knew. Joseph never told her about his past but she knew that his father had to be dead.

Kent watched with disinterest as the girl tripped and fell. It was almost pathetic how useless she was...and to think that his son was interested in her. "Well at least you're not too stupid, how has Joseph been? Have you slept with him yet?" Kent asked bluntly, not even caring that he was coming across as crass and disrespectful to the young woman. "He always was a little fire when it came to the bedroom." He said with a loud laugh. Michael had always begged and pleaded when Kent had had his way with him but Joseph...Joseph put up a fight every single time. "I don't suppose they've told you about me have they?" He asked with a dark smile at her. "Then again they seem to think I'm dead." He said as if talking about the weather.

Kayley's eyes widened at his words and she opened her mouth to respond but quickly shut it again. Who was he to even ask her such a question. When he didn't make a move to attack her, Kayley took the opportunity to get back on her feet and took a few steps back to put distance between them. "Who are you to even ask me such a question? You're lucky I don't set you on fire right now." She crossed her arms and glared at him, not letting him know how much he had phased her. At his next words though, she felt her body shrink back and her eyes widen. The way he said that could only mean one thing. This was Joseph and Michael's father. Joseph had seemed so afraid whenever he was brought up and now here he was standing before her. Her nails dug into her arms at the thought. If Joseph was afraid of him, she should be terrified. "I'll assume that you are their father, by the way you speak about them. I just assumed you would be much older." She wasn't going to let this man scare her. She was tired of being a child and now was a chance for her to put her limits to the test.

"And give that girl a prize!" Kent crowed as he mockingly clapped for Kayley. "I'm sure my son is so proud of you." He added with a wink at her. He could tell she was gearing up for a fight and that only amused him more. "I can see why my son likes you, but there's a reason I frightened them so much." He said with a leer at her. "Did they ever tell you about me? Or better yet how intimately they know me?" He asked with a smirk. "I'm sure they like to pretend they're above being scared of me but I know the truth." The thought of seeing his sons up close only made Kent that much more eager to see his sons.

Kayley rolled her eyes at his sarcasm and adjusted her stance as she kept her arms crossed. She could already tell that she did not like this man and his sense of humor bored her. Though every word he said seemed to creep up her spine. The way he looked at her made her feel even more self conscious but she ignored it. "Joseph refuses to tell me about you, much less anything else. They may be afraid of you but don't expect as much from me just yet. You are just an untold story in my eyes." By the way he spoke about them, she could almost guess what had happened between the twins and their father but she didn't want to know. Joseph would have told her when he was ready but now she was getting a jump start on that. Just the idea of this man coming back into contact with them made her cringe. If Joseph and Michael were scary enough now, she couldn't imagine what they would do if they found out that their father was alive. "How are you even alive anyway? I figured Joseph would have made sure you stayed dead, permanently."

Kent chuckled, a low dangerous sound that had caused many people to cower in fear. "Oh you are adorable...and naive." He said as he moved fast and held his special knife against her stomach while holding her in place. "You make any moves...this knife goes into your gut. If I twist hard enough, all your guts will spill onto the ground. You see, my dear there is a reason my sons fear me.....and it's not just because I took them. Oh no, it's also because I happen to be very good at what I do. I also know that you're a fairy and that my lovely granddaughter has been training you." He dug the tip of the knife against her stomach, the knife slicing through the shirt cleanly before it brushed against her skin. "You see how sharp this is....one wrong move and-" He trailed off before he chuckled with a dark look in his eyes. "As for how I'm still here, let's just say that I've got a few tricks up my sleeve." He continued with his smile growing.

Kayley felt her body shrink back as he chuckled and before she could move, he had a knife against her stomach. She tried to pull away but he held her securely in place, causing her to let a small whimper slip past her lips. Her instinct was to use her powers on him, but she knew that he would take that opportunity to kill her in an instance. She flinched when the knife sliced through her shirt, her muscles tensing in his grasp. The cold metal scraped across her skin, causing a shiver to run down her spine. "If you've been following me long enough, you should know that I don't like threats. What do you want from me?" She glared up at him, her fists clenching at her sides. It was nearly impossible to for her to not notice the amount of magic radiating from the knife and that made her worry. If he had a magical weapon like that, there was no doubt he could do some serious damage.

Kent smirked as he saw how she shrank back from him, not that she had much room to do so "I can't hurt you too much or my dear son would notice. I just want to know a few things, if you lie I'll know about it and then I'll hurt you in places I'm sure you wouldn't want anyone touching. Understood?" He growled before he smiled down at her as if he was merely talking about the weather. "Now first question, what does Joseph want with the Princess? Or rather, what do they hope to gain from keeping her hostage" He asked all the while smiling almost kindly at her, save there was something off about the smile...his eyes were dark and empty almost.

Kayley bit her lip at his words and nodded. She knew his threat was solid but her heart started to pound in her chest. Joseph had never told her what they had planned for the princess and she doubted that this man would think she was telling the truth. The cold knife pressed against her stomach and she sucked in a breath. "I don't know. He wouldn't tell me. Money maybe but he never told me..." She stared up into the man's eyes, just the sight of them made her want to cower in fear but she refused to let her body shake in his grasp. The only reason she could think of would be money, considering that's what he did with supernaturals but of course this was the princess so things could be a little different.

Kent smirked down at Kayley, "Well at least you're not a liar Kayley." He purred into her ear as he smiled down at her. "If you had...I wouldn't be quite so kind." He stated with a wink down at her. "I wonder Kayley, have you ever been touched by a man? Intimately I mean?" He added as he slid the knife down to the hem of her pants as he kept smiling down at her. So far she was holding up quite well but he knew that it wouldn't be long before she broke and he planned on having some fun before then. It had been awhile before he had had a woman and Kayley was a little skinny for his tastes but she would do rather well for what he had in mind.

Kayley instantly tensed when he winked at her, the gesture nothing like when Joseph had winked at her. She felt the knife slide down and rest at the hem of her pants, her eyes widening at the feeling. Her body twitched as she tried to shove him away from her instinctively but she could barely move due to how close he was to her. Fear flashed through her at his words and she stared up at him with wide eyes. Kayley was still a virgin and the closest she had ever come to being intimate was the night she had gotten drunk with Joseph and when he had kissed her. "Stop it..don't touch me." She growled at him, her body starting to slightly shake under his touch.

"So I take it you're still a virgin then? I'm shocked, my son is someone who can't seem to keep his hands off of any woman." Kent said with a roll of his eyes. He merely chuckled at her words, "Or what? You'll fight back? You won't even have the chance to move before I stop you, and trust me I can move a lot faster then you can flinch." He stated with a growing smile. "You've given me an idea...don't worry I won't rape you..not quite anyway." He said as he yanked her pants down to her feet, leaving her in only her undergarments. "Now what can I do, that would suitably work for you?" He asked as he dragged the knife along her skin, digging it in slightly at the point just beneath her belly button.

Kayley squeaked when he yanked her pants down, her cheeks burning red in embarrassment. Joseph was the only one who had seen her in her undergarments and the fact that his father was here undressing her made her feel dirty. The knife dug into her skin just beneath her belly button and she gasped, her hand flying up to his chest to push him away. "No, get away from me!" Her hand tightened into a fist, gripping at his shirt as she tried to push him away but he was much stronger than her. The cold air went through her legs and she shivered. This was one of the few times that she wished Joseph had followed her but she knew that he hadn't. She was on her own in this and she wasn't sure she'd be able to free herself.
