Miriam Thorne
Who cares if straight laces
Sneer at us in the streets?
Fine airs and fine graces
Don't have to sin to eat
If you don't mind making a mate of Satan
It's a fine life
No, we don't mind keeping the angels waiting.
It's a fine life.

Age: 24
Supernatural Type: Half human, half siren
Occupation: Petty Thief and Prostitute
Status: Poor and Neutral-Good
History:
Raised alone by her father, Miriam was an optimistic, young girl with a charming personality. Although the girl was in no way spoiled, many would joke that the girl had her father wrapped around her little finger. The only memento of her mother the girl had, was a tiny locket with a portrait of her inside that had been with her when she was left at her father's doorstep. Miriam never questioned her mother's whereabouts or identity until the age of 18 when her rebellious streak came along. When her father refused to tell her the truth, Miriam set out on her own eager to find her mother and breaking her father's heart in the process. After spending two long months living off the streets, the girl finally found her mother washed up on a beach, dead. Stricken with grief and confusion, she ran as far away from the beach as she possibly could and eventually stumbled across Airbithia. With no one to turn to for guidance and no aid, she began to lead a life of crime, pick pocketing and the like finding she could charm her victims- particularly the males- into doing whatever she wanted them to do. After getting by this way for two years, she was caught by a man who didn't seem to fall for her spell. Terrified at the thought of being turned in to the authorities, she agreed to the man's proposal being that so long as she worked for him and gave him everything she earned, he would give her food, shelter and most importantly his silence. For four years now, she has been living this way though she dreams of something more.
Personality:
Miriam is a quiet, gentle soul who most would consider to be shy. Though she is by no means a social person, Miriam loves extravagant balls or celebrations and her favorite thing to do is dance. When in the right company, Miriam will open up and it's when she is surrounded by loved ones that she truly shines revealing a more mischievous part of her personality. She is hiding deep psychological pain from the fear of her captor, the death of her detached mother and the abandonment of her father. Despite these inner demons, she attempts to remain positive and optimistic by looking on the bright side of her current situation and looking forward to a hopefully brighter tomorrow.
Relationships:
Dominic Facilier: Facilier is her captor (dun dun dun) and is the one forcing her to sell her body and steal in order to earn her keep. She 'rents' a small room from him and he provides her meals. She is terrified of him although he has never done anything to harm her outright.
Fears and weaknesses:
She fears she'll never escape from the current life she is living and despises herself as she feels she herself is weak. She also- understandably- fear the amount of control her captor has over her. As her powers only really affect straight/bisexual/pansexual men, she hasn't any control over homosexual or asexual men or any women which can be considered a weakness. She is also terrified of storms and rough seas, despite her love for the ocean because of the circumstances of her mother's death.
