Anastasia was sitting nervously in the lobby of one of the finest inns in the town, waiting for Garrett to appear as they agreed on. Since they first got to meet after a long time again already a few days had past and she was both excited and very happy to see him again and couldn´t wait to have him close to her again.

Garrett had been sure to run as fast as he could from the castle to avoid prince Phillips wrath. He had just been joking a little with him and Phillip knew it. But it was also funny when Phillip tried to throw a book after him when he hurried outside the door. Anyways, he was happy. He had the approval to propose to Anastasia. But first he also wanted to tell her who he really was. He had been thinking about it lately and decided to give it a try. He finally reached the inn and saw Anastasia in the lobby. He was sure that no one was there and looked and hurried to her, calling her name before he embraced her. He was tempted to swing her around in the air.

When Garrett finally arrived she hugged him right away. "There you are. How was the meeting? Did everything go as you liked?" Giving him her sweetest smile as always she took his arm and followed him upstairs so they could be for their own.

Garrett put her gently down. "It did go splendid!" Garrett grinned and they both went upstairs to his room. "I even got the chance to congratulate him with his future sister coming soon." Phillip of course knew about before Garrett teased him. But soon Edward would propose to the young woman he loved and hopefully she would accept.

"Oh that´s just wonderfull! I hope they will be happy with each other." She replied, honstely being happy for the soon to be wed. A part of her however still was a little sad since she would most likely never get the chance to marry, at least the one she truly loved even though that was all she actually ever had dreamed and hoped for.

"But some changes might do some good right?" he replied before he went silent. He was trying to find the right words. Would he get a another chance? Was it the right time? "There is something I want to tell you." Garrett started after he had offered her a seat. He really didn't know where to begin.

Garrett took a deep breath. "What I'm going to tell you, is, well, I'm not telling it to hurt you, but something about me you deserve to know." He took a sip with some water nearby. He had to think clearly. "I once had a simple life with my mother, but while I still was a young boy she was murdered, and I had nothing left." He could see that Anastasia started to worry. "I had to work hard to become a noble man."

As Garrett was telling his story Anastasia of course listened carfully to him though she obviously started worrying as he continued and got quite puzzled what all this was about. "Many do so out of diffrent reasons. My family as well started out from low circumstances though it was generations ago."

It was going to be difficult. "The thing is, I wasn't born as a noble man," he finally said. "My mother was a mistress to a noble man, and I was born. But after my mother was killed, I worked for the royals with very important work. For king and country!"

Anastasia still had no clue where he was leading to but she felt that she wouldn´t like it at all. Still she kept listening trying to hide her emotions until everything he wanted to say was said. "... And what sort of work do you mean?"

Garrett sighed silently. "...I've been working as a spy for Maghden!" It was said. He couldn't go back now. "The only think I do is to make sure that things don't go wrong. Finding out if other kingdoms will try to attack. Or if someone will try to murder the royalty." He looked down at his feet, looking sad. "And also try to make sure that no more children lose their mothers, like I did!"

As the words have been said Anastasia trempled a little about to loos her balance. She just couldn´t believe what she had just heard. "No this ... this can´t be. A ... a spy but then ..." It didn´t take long at all until she felt tears running down her face while she quickly was left without words or rather the ability to speak at all. Shocked and heart broken as badly as never before she didn´t even catch the last of his words but covered her face with her hands as she turned away and ran out of the room. Everything just everything has been a lie, his kindness towards her, his intentions in the first place. But what hurted her the most was that he neither cared nor liked here even the slightest way but used her while she had fallen truthfully in love with him.
