Nita tossed and turned in her bed before she suddenly woke up with a silent scream as she sat bolt upright. Her whole body trembled in fear as she ran a hand down her stomach, needing to feel the bump there. As soon as she felt the baby bump she let out a shaky sigh. She hadn't spent the night with Nero, she knew that he wasn't used to her quite yet and her nightmares were getting steadily worse. The last thing she wanted to do was cause more problems for him. She grimaced when she felt her nightdress sticking too her due to sweat. Each nightmare had her waking up in cold sweats and throbbing pain. The pain felt even worse after she'd had a nightmare, and she knew part of it was because the children were agitated. Her healing abilities didn't really work for pregnancy pains. She shakily slid out of the bed and stumbled towards the bathroom. When she finally made it and lit the lamp there, she frowned at her reflection in the mirror. She did a good job at hiding the circles under her eyes with carefully applied make up, but she couldn't do much to hide how thin she had become. Nita tried to keep food down but her body always rebelled and she was becoming steadily weaker. This pregnancy was beginning to take a toll on her body and she wasn't sure how long she'd be able to last. Nero said he thought she was strong enough, but looking at herself in the mirror Nita couldn't help but wonder how truthful that statement was. She pulled at her nightdress until it puddled around her in a heap. Nita examined her body critically, the baby bump had grown over the past month. However that was the only part of her that had gained weight next to her breasts of course. The rest of her looked far too skinny, and it worried her. If she couldn't keep anything down, then Nita wasn't sure what she'd do. Nero wouldn't be pleased to know that her body was steadily betraying her. He wouldn't be pleased to know that she hadn't told him how bad things had gotten sooner. She let out a shaky sigh and left the bathroom, making way to her closet where she changed into a simple dark blue gown with a black cape thrown over the entire ensemble. She pulled her hair into a braid and let it fall over her shoulder, what she was planning could get her into serious trouble with Nero but Nita was desperate. Naveen was the only one who could soothe her after a nightmare, and the twins responded to him more then to Nero. Nita wasn't even sure why that was, plus she wanted to see Naveen...she had missed him. She left the house, spending time with Nero had allowed her to figure out which places were the easiest to avoid detection. Once she was a safe enough distance away, she let out a sigh of pent up relief. Nero's place always gave her a bad vibe, and while she knew Nero wouldn't hurt her she also hated staying cooped up there. She felt trapped all the time, and while Nero took care of her every need she wasn't happy. She paused in step, what was she even doing outside the Mansion? Nero would probably wake up and drag her all the way back to her room...and he'd probably make it ten times harder for her to ever get away again. Her whole body tensed as she suddenly heard Nero's hounds start barking and she knew her window of opportunity was slipping by. Before she could change her mind she took off once again, darting through the woods all the time wondering why she was doing this.

Naveen hopped down from the boat, slinging a sack over his shoulders. It had been a month since he left Paradise and he honestly couldn't remember why. The only thing he knew was that he missed his daughter..his 'family.' He made his way through the streets, smiling to strangers as he passed them in the darkness with a pep in his step. The past month he spent traveling, getting over his addictions and his problems and he felt a million times better. He hadn't touched a drink for weeks or even drugs since his near overdose. Eric had been so upset with him...he could still see the sadness on his face but something else was tugging at him. Wasn't there someone else? Someone that he wanted to give it all up for? He shook his head to push the memories away and looked up as he walked up to Eric's mansion. It all seemed so much bigger...A slight worry tugged at him as he remembered what had happened before he left. He had promised that he would stop but the last thing he remembered was waking up surrounded with empty liquor bottles and another list. That was the first time Eric had slapped him in years and they got in a huge argument...Naveen had stormed out and never came back. He let himself in, knowing that since it was so late that Eric most likely wouldn't be awake. Naveen went up to his room and unpacked when he suddenly heard footsteps behind him. He turned to see Eric coming through the threshold, a grin slowly coming to his face. "Eric...Hey.." His hand ran through his hair, taking a hesitant step towards him. When Eric suddenly spoke, he flinched back, immediately detecting the anger in his voice. Eric was hurt..he knew that and he owed him an explanation. "Look, I'm sorry I left like that. I just needed some space...to clear my head. But I'm sober now, I swear." Naveen stepped back when Eric suddenly stepped towards him and patted him down, an annoyed sigh flying past his lips. "You don't have to check me, I'm clean. I haven't touched the stuff since I sobered up after I left." Naveen stepped back when Eric finally gave it up and turned to grab something out of his bag. "I've brought something back for everyone. You, Chel, even Aurora. As an apology." Though when Eric gave him a confused look, Naveen raised an eyebrow. Why did he look so confused? That was everyone. His daughter, his best friend, and his savior. Then suddenly Eric mentioned a name that tugged at the back of his mind and he gave him a confused look. "Nita? Who's Nita? You didn't get a girlfriend did you?" Naveen felt a smile tugging at his lips before he moved forward and wrapped his arms around Eric. He was happy that Eric was moving on, hell, even with a woman. It never crossed his mind that maybe some day Eric would swing the other way too.

Eric frowned as he stared at Naveen, he was glad to see him of course but now that Naveen didn't know Nita...it was like he was back at square one. "No I only go for guys as you should know. Nita is your sister...love of your life...none of this ring any bells?" He asked as he studied Naveen with clear concern. "Where the hell did you run off too anyway? We've all been worried sick about you." He said as he studied Naveen with worry. It was almost like he was a different guy, and it worried him a lot.

Naveen twisted his lips into a frown and shook his head. He didn't have a sister..Naveen was an only child. His father was dead and his mother raised him on his own. "I don't know what you're talking about Eric. I'm an only child, you know that. You haven't forgotten have you? It was just me and my mom growing up. Besides, why would my sister be the love of my life? Isn't that weird?" He chuckled and held out a small bag for Eric to take. Inside was a gift for him to make up for everything. It was a silver flute, much like the one that Eric had gotten from that other man he had been chasing but he made it fancier. "I went to the next kingdom over. After that relapse, I needed to get some distance and...it worked. I kicked it, I'm not craving the drugs anymore or the alcohol. Come on, it's not that late. We can get Aurora and Chel here and have a party." He grinned and wrapped his arm around Eric's shoulder.

Eric pushed him back, "No your father is still alive...he's...wow this is going to sound really messed up, but it's the truth. He is the father of Nita's unborn children...and you-" He broke off as he ran a hand through his hair, "Did you meet anyone strange on your little uh trip?" He asked cautiously as he accepted the new flute with a strained smile. "I mean anyone that may have had magic or anything like that?" He asked as he studied Naveen with growing concern. Naveen must have done something to erase his memories of his father and sister...but why on earth would he do that? It made absolutely no sense to Eric, especially since Naveen had seemed to be doing better anyway.

Naveen stumbled back when Eric pushed him and a confused look came over his face. Why was he acting like this? Who was this girl he kept bringing up? Though at his question, he looked down at the ground and bit his lip. "I...maybe. I don't remember. I met a lot of people Eric, how am I supposed to know if they had magic or not?" He scoffed and ran a hand through his hair. The subject was making him feel uncomfortable but he wasn't sure why. A few weeks after he left, he noticed how some of his powers weren't working but thought nothing of it. He just assumed it was the reaction to all of the drugs. "Why are you asking me this Eric? The only thing different from when I left is that I'm sober. Are you? I mean, you're clearly insane. I don't know anyone named Nita and my father is dead, I saw him die." He frowned and shoved his hands into his pockets, moving forward to push past him.

Eric ran a hand down his face, "Well have you noticed anything wrong with your powers? Or anything unusual?" He asked as he watched Naveen push past him. "I'm asking you these questions because Nita and your dad are both still alive and you seem to have gotten your memories erased and forgotten them both. You don't have to believe me but Aurora and Chel will both agree with me, especially since Chel is staying with Nita and Nero." He said before he folded his arms.

Naveen turned to Eric, annoyance clearly showing on his face. "If this is a joke, it's not funny." He glared and turned to leave though at Eric's question, he stopped. His hands fidgeted with a stone in his pocket, one that he wasn't sure where he had gotten it. "My powers...they're fine. I'm just rusty. I can't transform into a dragon and my healing doesn't seem to be working. But it's ok. I never used them that much anyway. It's just the drugs..I'm sure I will be back to normal soon enough." He sighed and his thumb caressed the stone, feeling it's smoothness under his touch. Though when he mentioned Chel and where she was, anger crossed through his vision. "Again with these people. You have my daughter staying with strangers!? Where the hell is she? I'm going to get her." Naveen spun on his heels and raced down the stairs, not even caring how dark it was outside. If Chel was with two strangers that clearly even Eric didn't know, he was going to get her. He didn't bother grabbing his cloak and ran outside, having to run on his feet since he couldn't fly. Just as he made it into the woods, his body slammed into a smaller form and his arms shot out, grabbing hold of it. Before either of them could fall to the ground, Naveen slipped one arm around the small form's waist and grabbed hold of a nearby low-hanging branch trying to break their fall. The branch snapped and he tumbled to the ground, his back slamming into the dirt and felt a weight on top of him. He groaned and opened his eyes, annoyance clearly showing in them. Above him was a smaller woman, her long black hair falling into his face but he felt something pressing against him. He looked down, noticing that she was pregnant and his eyes widened. She was lucky he was the one that landed on the ground and he was able to cushion her fall. "Shit..are you alright miss?"

Eric sighed, "Of course it's not a joke I don't make jokes." He muttered under his breath and then frowned as Naveen started yelling at him. Hopefully Naveen would realize the truth once he had a chance to talk to his daughter and he watched as Naveen took off running outside. Nita was almost to the edge of the forest when someone stepped right into her path, she barely had time to let out a little muffled sound as the man managed to brace their fall. She let out a shaky breath and then froze when she recognized the voice, "Miss? It's me Naveen, it's Nita! You have to get out of here! I never should have run...I was just being so stupid and if Nero sees you-" She broke off in sudden worry. If Nero discovered them like this he might just assume the worst and Nita would not be able to blame him. "I should go..you need to leave Naveen." She apologized as she rolled off of him, wincing as her stomach ached from the motion. Clearly the fall had taken a little toll on her children and she hoped to all the Gods that nothing would happen to them.

Naveen's eyes widened when the woman said his name. This was Nita? He had never met her before and he most certainly would have remembered if he had...she was gorgeous. "Wait a minute, how do you know my name? Why are you running?" He pushed himself up on his elbows when she rolled off of him but the moment she winced, he leaned over and tried to help her. "Stop, you'll hurt yourself." He pushed himself up on his knees and helped her sit up against a tree so she could relax. "What's going on? How do you know me? Eric put you up to this didn't he?" He darkened his gaze as he stared down at her, his hands trying to keep her stable. Suddenly, he heard barking from in the distance and he whipped around to see a man coming out from the shadows, two hounds at his feet with glowing red eyes. "What the hell-" His words cut off when he was suddenly thrown to the side by an invisible force and his body rolled to a stop in the dirt. Nero came out of the shadows, his eyes blazing as he looked down at Nita. "You ran away for this? For him!?" His eyes turned white as he lifted Naveen into the air, tightening his grip around Naveen's neck until he could barely breathe.

Nita's eyes narrowed, "You don't remember me?" She asked with her heart sinking upon hearing that. She let Naveen help her up but gave him a sad look. "I'm fine...I..I ran because I wanted to see you." She blinked at him as he mentioned Eric, "What? No of course not! I-" She broke off when she heard the hounds drawing closer. "Shit! Naveen you really need to run!" She said and then Nero appeared. She shrank back from him as he looked down at her with his eyes blazing. "I hate being locked away Nero! And Naveen had nothing to do with this! He doesn't even remember me!" She said, having to put one hand on the tree so she wouldn't collapse. Tears fell down her face as she stared up at Nero, "I had a stupid nightmare and I...I lost my head for a little bit. Just please don't hurt him...you promised you wouldn't." She whispered as she stared at him, her whole body shaking.

Nero looked up at Naveen, a grin coming to his face. "You don't remember her? Oh how sweet...do you remember me, son?" Naveen's eyes widened, his vision starting to blur from the loss of air. "I don't...know either of you..this is just some sick joke." Suddenly Nero dropped Naveen to the ground and gripped his hair until he was sitting in his knees. He pulled his head back and roughly placed his palm on Naveen's forehead. A painful burning sensation and he cried out in pain but he couldn't get away, this man had him trapped. Nero pulled his hand back and kicked Naveen back onto the ground, a deep chuckle erupting from his throat. "Oh this is too easy Naveen! You made a deal! Forget me and your sister in exchange for your powers, are you serious? And with a demon none the less! Gods you're idiot!" He kicked Naveen in the stomach hard enough for him to roll away a few feet. Naveen grunted and pushed himself up on one arm, his other clutching his stomach. He tried to transform but nothing happened. Not even his strength kicked in. "I don't understand.." Naveen looked up, confusion and pain clouding his face. "Don't you get it boy? You can't do anything now. No more dragon Naveen...and Oh..you can't heal anymore either, can you?" Naveen lowered his head, trying to make sense of what Nero was saying. Everyone had the same story..Nita, Eric, now this asshole. Maybe they were right.... Nero turned his attention to Nita, holding up a hand to tell her not to move. "I promised not to use you love, I never promised that I wouldn't hurt him. Do you know how long I've been trying to get him out of the way? Ever since he fought me to save you from the first marriage I had arranged for you. And now...now he's just as useless as a human." He grinned and cracked his neck before he sent a wave of energy towards Naveen, pinning him up against a tree. Nero pulled a dagger out of it's holster and held it up against Naveen's throat. "I could just kill you so easily...but I want this to last. And you'll suffer even more because you'll never stop trying to remember what you did." He dragged the knife across Naveen's throat lightly, a thin line on crimson red appearing beneath the blade. Naveen grit his teeth and tried to kick the man away but he couldn't move..he was frozen. His gaze shot to Nita, noticing how terrified she was, how sad she had been when he didn't know who she was.

Nita was beginning to feel faint as Nero kept talking. The pain was flaring so badly she could barely see what was going on. However she saw the faint line of blood well up under Nero's blade when he dragged it along Naveen's throat. Naveen might not remember her, but she couldn't stand by and let Nero hurt him like this. She all but staggered towards Nero, "I am begging you...please stop." She whispered as she stared up at him, it was taking all her strength to even say that much. She swayed on her feet with her vision blurring and then the first contraction hit. Her eyes flew open in sudden mind numbing terror, "Oh no....no...no...it's too soon." She whispered as she stared down at her stomach in a full blown panic. If she lost her children on top of losing Naveen...she'd never recover and she knew that already.

Nero was about to shove Nita away when she swayed on her feet and he had to drop Naveen to the ground to catch her in time. "Damn it Nita, if you lose these children.." He growled as he pulled her up into his arms and snapped his fingers, their bodies showing up back at his mansion. His arms tightened around her as he set her down on her bed and glanced over his shoulder until Naveen suddenly arrived as well. Naveen stumbled as he landed, crashing into the floor from the disorientation. He shook his head and pushed himself up on his arms, his eyes wide when he suddenly realized they weren't in the woods anymore. His gaze shot to the bed where he saw the woman he ran into clearly in pain. The more he looked at her, the more familiar she looked but every time he tried to think of why, pain shot through his head and he was forced to stop. He had a memory...much like the one from when he had been with Aurora and she had a miscarriage but it wasn't her...it was someone else. The memory was fuzzy and he couldn't make it out. Nero pushed up the skirt of her dress and put his hands on her stomach, a warm light coming from them and dissolved into her stomach. He could feel the twins were agitated and stressed but he hoped his magic would calm them down. She was only in her second trimester, the children wouldn't make it if they were born.

Nita could barely bring herself to care when Nero finally stopped hurting Naveen. Her whole body trembled as another contraction hit, a shaky cry escaped her as she clung to Nero. She didn't even hear what he said to her, as she struggled not to have a break down. As soon as he brought them to her room and laid her down she felt another contraction. Her head was spinning as she struggled not to faint, "I can't-" Whatever she was about to say was lost as she finally lost consciousness. Nero's magic was the only thing keeping the children from completely losing control at that point.
