Nita bit down on her bottom lip as her eyes wandered towards where their two children still slept. "I'm glad...I know it's not going to be easy with Nero involved, but I hope our children can be raised side by side. I have a feeling that they'll need each other when they get older." She quietly admitted with a small frown. It made her think of when she and Naveen had played together as children, Naveen had been the one constant in her entire life. Now that he was her husband of course things had changed, Nita had always loved Naveen even when they just kids. It had taken her years to realize just how deeply she loved him...she had just never realized that one day she'd actually be his. Now that she had him, Nita never wanted to lose him and she knew Naveen felt the same way about her. Their love was unconditional and more complete then anything Nita had ever experienced. Even David hadn't stirred up the same emotion that she constantly felt with Naveen. Her eyes moved to her wedding band that Naveen had picked out, he was constantly showering her with gifts. It made her fondly remember the charm bracelet her mother had given her on the day of her birth. The bracelet had gone missing the day she had been taken, Nero had never let her wear it after all. She wondered what had happened to the silver heart charm that had been the last charm she'd received, from Naveen during that ball so many years ago.

Naveen gently ran his thumb over her skin at her words, a small smile tugging at his face. "I wonder if they'll be as close as we were.." He of course was referring to how inseparable they were when they were children. Naveen was so protective of her, even back then. They had their fights but most of their time together was good. He treated her like the princesses in her fairy tales and he always did his best to be her knight. Never before would he have thought that they would be married a century later, much less with children. When he noticed her look down at her wedding ring, he suddenly remembered something he had been waiting to give her. "I almost forgot..I have something for you." Without explaining much more, he climbed out of bed and moved over to the bookcase. He didn't bother dressing himself as me moved and he reached behind the books on the shelf, searching for something. A relieved sigh came past his lips as he found it and pulled out a small wooden box. "I was hoping to have given this to you a lot sooner but...the restoration took a bit longer than I had hoped." Naveen moved back over to the bed and sat down in front of her before handing her the box. "I should have told you about this but...I wanted it to be ready before I gave it back to you." He motioned for her to open it, biting his bottom lip in anticipation to see her reaction. Inside of the box was the charm bracelet their mother had given her the day she was born. All eighteen charms were there, each one for a birthday, including the last one he had given her the night of the ball. Each one shined like it was brand new and hadn't gone through years of tarnishing. "I found it...the day I came home to our village and found it destroyed. It was mixed in with the rubble of our house and...of course I had assumed the worst back then. It wasn't until I found you again at the lake that I brought it out and tried to fix it up." Naveen ran a hand nervously through his hair. Before he found her, he had carried that bracelet with him everywhere. It was sort of like a good luck charm for him. But the day he found her again, he had wanted to give it to her but it looked awful after years of being in his pocket and burned from the fires of that night. He had worked on cleaning it up until the night before he was taken by Evangeline..the night he had finished it. It was supposed to be a gift for their wedding, even though it was a terribly late gift.

Nita sat up and watched him move to pick up a wooden box, that was cleverly hidden behind some books on the shelf. She hesitantly took the box from him and ran one hand along the surface before she slid the box open. Inside rested the charm bracelet she had just been thinking about looking just like how it had when she had had it. "I can't believe you found this. I was just thinking about it and that day when you gave me the heart charm." She said quietly as she lightly traced the silver heart charm with her fingertips. He must have kept good care of it or had it restored to it's former glory. It had been one of her favorite pieces that she had owned back then and seeing it again made her feel safe. "Thank you...I thought I'd never see this again." She admitted with a small smile as she looked up at him with her eyes shining with unshed tears. She leaned forward and kissed him on the lips, "You spoil me." She said gently before she kissed him again. The bracelet was special to her as it had been the only thing her mother had given her. Each year she had received charms from both her mother and Naveen until her mother had died. After that Naveen had continued the tradition until that day with Nero and then she had never seen the bracelet or the charms after that. "I was thinking of having a bracelet made for Mira...I'll have to think of something for Narcisse." She said gently, her gaze landing on their two children.

Naveen didn't realize he had been holding his breath waiting for her reaction and he sighed in relief. "I carried it with me...everywhere I went because I missed you. It went through a lot so it took longer than I had hoped to restore it." He leaned into her as she pressed her lips against his and gently moved a hand up into her hair. "It looks like I'm very behind though.." He teased, his fingers running over the charms. Each year he'd give her one on her birthday but after spending a century apart...she should have so many more. He wondered what his father would say if he knew that Naveen had found the bracelet, much less restored it. Though when she mentioned getting one for Mira, he grinned and let out a small laugh. "I'm glad you said that..." He reached over and pressed on the bottom of the box, revealing a hidden compartment beneath the false bottom. Beneath it was another bracelet almost identical to Nita's only it had one charm. The charm was a golden sun that stood out against the silver chain. "It's too big for her now but...getting a charm for you each year was the highlight of my life and I want Narcisse to have the same with his sister. Though for him, I still haven't decided on what to get for him." Naveen ran a hand through his hair and bit his lip. He had little memory of his mother before her death but one of his fondest had been the times they would sit in the garden when Nita was still just a baby. She would teach him the powers that each flower or herb could possess and he'd make crowns for Nita to protect her. He still remembered the promise he had made her one day in the garden when Nita was three. She had gotten in trouble with their father because she broke something in his study and Nero had been furious. Their mother made Naveen promise to protect Nita at all costs, even if it made their father upset with him instead and of course he agreed.

Nita smiled at him tenderly, "Well I'm glad you had it with you, you're the only one I would have trusted to hold onto it." She admitted gently. She leaned into his touch as he ran a hand through her hair, enjoying the feel of his fingers. A little laugh left her as he teased her, "Oh if you added charms for every year I wouldn't be able to wear it." She said just as teasingly. She watched as he suddenly revealed a hidden compartment within the box to show another charm bracelet. "It's beautiful...oh she'll love it." She said gently as she ran a hand along the other charm bracelet. The first charm was similar to the first one on her own but hers was a silver crescent moon. "Well we have time to figure something out for him." She said gently, at least she hoped they'd have time to get him something. Her hand moved as she took her charm bracelet from the box, it had been so long since she had last seen it. Each charm held a special place in her heart and each had a memory that came with it. "What did I ever do to deserve you?" She asked quietly as she looked up at Naveen with a radiant smile. "I remember when I was younger I'd love the charms you'd get me...I still love them." She added, her gaze landing on the silver heart charm. The night he had given it to her was slightly fuzzy in her mind but she was sure that had been a turning point for them. She leaned forward and kissed Naveen again letting her lips linger, "I love you." She whispered, she didn't care how many times she said it, it felt good to be able to express her feelings to him and know that he returned them.

Naveen grinned at Nita's response to Mira's bracelet. It would be years before she would be big enough to wear it but he couldn't wait to see it. When she took her bracelet out of the box, he set the box down on the bed and moved to help her. He took the bracelet from her and gently took her wrist, fastening it around her. The silver chain stood out against her dark skin and it made his heart skip a beat. It had been so long since he had seen her wear it and now that she was, he never wanted her to take it off again. He ran his fingertips lightly over each charm, remembering each year he gave her each one. "That was the one thing I looked forward to every year...when your birthday would finally come around and mother and I would pick out the perfect charm for you. After she passed..." Naveen sighed and placed a kiss against one of the charms. It was a golden rose that had been their mother's favorite. She picked it out the year she died and Naveen had to give it to Nita alone for the first time. "Without her, it took me so much longer picking out one for you. It took me three months to find you the perfect one for your eighteenth birthday and then.." He shook his head, trying to push away the memories of when their village was destroyed. Even though he had Nita back in his life now, that memory was still fresh and he hated thinking about it. "I'm just glad that you can have it again." Naveen leaned forward and pressed a gentle kiss against her lips.

Nita smiled as he fastened the charm bracelet around her wrist, the weight of it felt familiar and comfortable as it always had been. "I remember...and I'd always pester you if I could see what you had picked out for me." She said with a little laugh as she recalled how she'd try and get Naveen to tell her what she had gotten before her birthday arrived. No matter how much she begged and pleaded though Naveen never showed her until her birthday. She shivered a little as he pressed a kiss against the golden rose charm that her mother had picked out for her before she had died. "Well you always knew just what I liked...you always have." She pointed out with a small smile. Her smile grew as he leaned in and kissed her again, enjoying the taste of him. "I'll never take it off...not unless you need it. For some reason I've always felt that it was a good luck charm...as long as I wore it or kept it close." She said quietly as she glanced down at the bracelet. Her thoughts drifted to what had happened a few weeks after her eighteenth birthday. She couldn't imagine what Naveen must have been through when he had seen the village. He had told her what had happened of course but she felt guilty, if she had only tried to fight Nero then...maybe she could have escaped with Naveen earlier on. She might never have been held captive for so long...but he would have died long before her. A life without Naveen terrified her more then words could possibly express. "You mean so much to me Naveen...I have loved you my entire life. When we were separated I think my love for you only increased. I'd think of the good memories that we had shared and no matter how terribly I was treated I knew someday I'd see you again. Back then I always assumed it would be when I died...but it turned out far better then I ever could have hoped. Seeing you for the first time after all those years...it was like I'd found meaning." She said quietly before she leaned forward and kissed him.

Naveen smirked at her words. "I won't need it...mother gave it to you to protect you, I want to make sure that it does." He leaned forward and kissed her lips, his hand lightly running down her side. "I love you too Nita..I'm so glad that we are together now. Mother would have loved to meet our children." He would have given anything to have their mother be with them again so she could see what they both became. They had been through a lot together over the years and he knew that he loved Nita more than ever. Naveen slid his arms around her, slowly pushing her body back onto the bed. His lips descended down onto hers as he kissed her, his body aching to have her again. Her hands glided down his back and the feeling of the cold charms against his skin drove him crazy. They made love again and again until the two of them fell asleep in each others arms.
