Odd always left his bakery long after anyone else was up, just to make sure that nobody saw him. He always used the excuse he wanted to get the morning breads and muffins ready for the bakery, and this was true, but he also didn't want anyone to see his tail and large ears, which were normal for a troll. Plus, it was better not to chance any sunlight or he was literally dead. So, in the dark of the night, the troll placed his key in the lock of his shop and pulled a hood over his head at the same time. Just in case. Unfortunately the lock was rusty and the key got stuck again inside it. With an annoyed grunt Odd struggled to lock the door.

"Need a hand there Odd?" A far too cheerful sounding voice said from behind him as Sinbad arrived, "Last time we met I distinctly recall a similar situation only you managed to prank me with a water bucket." Sinbad said with a shake of his head. "Those were good times, wouldn't you say?" He added with a wink over at Odd. He took in the cloak that Odd now wore most likely to help shield him from other humans and he felt a little angry on Odd's behalf. "What do you say I buy you a drink after I shut your door?" He said in a far gentler tone.

Odd's head came up at the sound of the familiar voice and he gave a dramatic sigh, though under the cloak he was grinning. "I did warn you that the door was temperamental" he commented. "But did you listen? Nooo" He stepped aside and motioned for Sinbad to lock his door. "I can promise there's nothing there this time though. I wouldn't want to call attention to myself during these times" Odd said, sighing more sadly this time. "It gets harder to sneak back into town every dawn. The drink sounds perfect right now"

Sinbad snorted, "Tempermental? That door was bloody jinxed! Every time I shut it I got drenched." He shuddered at the memory, "So now that I'm back I believe it's only fair to say that you don't stand a chance." He added with a little wink. "During my time abroad I learned a few things that are sure to keep you on your toes." Sinbad continued as he managed to finally lock the door. "Don't worry about meeting any unsavory types, you can join me on my ship. I promise no one there will say a word if they happen to see your ears and tail." He promised this time in a more serious manner. |

Odd laughed quietly. "Oh lighten up. It was funny!" he said much more cheerfully than previously. Odd snorted and raised an eyebrow. "Mmm...keeping a troll on his toes eh? gutsy" he whispered this and grinned. He was a solitary creature and most people annoyed him, but he always liked little encounters with the sea captain. Odd shook his head and pointed at the sky. "It wouldn't be your crew I would be worried about if I joined your crew. Besides, I can't bake the way I would want on a ship, no offense" he shuddered slightly. "Baking is my life. I can't just leave my bakery"

Sinbad shuddered, "I still have nightmares." He said lightly. "And I'm a gutsy man...nay a pirate even." He said with a little wink. He frowned only a little at Odd's words, "Very well mate but the offer still stands if you ever change your mind." He said honestly. "Now then about that drink, where's a good place to get nicely drunk?" He asked teasingly as he smiled up at Odd.

"Careful saying that around here, 'Pirate' captain Sinbad" Odd teasingly cautioned and smiled. It was nice doing this again. He shrugged. "I'll keep it in mind, but if the heat gets too bad I'll hide in the forest again. It is my home. I know it better than most.You're welcome to come hiding if ever you need to, you know" he thought about the drink and shrugged. "This late? Probably the docks. And no offense, but the sailors would be fairly drunk and might not pay attention if my tail slips out from under the cloak from time to time"

Sinbad smiled, "I appreciate the offer Odd but as it so happens I know a few people. I could talk to someone who might be able to know of a way for you to blend in more? Of course it might require some convincing but I have been told I can be quite uh charming." Sinbad stated with a little wink. At his other words, Sinbad nodded "Oh of course that's probably a good idea. Who knows, we may run into some of my crew while we're there." He continued with a wide smile.
