History:
Rapunzel was once a much beloved and respected Lady, who cared for all who lived under her care and offered protection for the vulnerable. Engaged to be married, cherished by all who knew her and strong ties with the Royal Family, this young woman was almost guaranteed a prosperous future. That is of course, until the king issued a proclamation stating that those who are believed to have powers will die. Chaos broke out in the Corona estate after one of the scullery maids -a small, sweet mannered werewolf girl named Emily- was the first to face the hang man's noose. The small, peaceful village that Rapunzel guarded was a buzz with fear. Brothers turned on brothers, with neighbors turning one another in for whatever profit it would earn them. Fearful for her people, Rapunzel renounced her status, gathered any supernatural beings remaining in the village and took off before the sun rose on the seventh day following the proclamation. Now going by the name Gothel with her long, blonde hair cut short and turned brown by a witch, she runs a hostel deep in the forest, called The Golden Torch Inn, that is a safe haven for 'supernaturals'.
Personality:
Rapunzel is a fiercely determined young woman. She is very generous and puts the needs of her people before her own but her selflessness can often be her downfall, she is often misused and walked all over by many people. Despite being raised as a Lady and being given anything that she wishes, she has always craved freedom and found that freedom in the woods where she would visit frequently without her guards to be left alone with her thoughts. Her love for the forest developed into an interest in herbalism, she knows a few herbal remedies for mild ailments such as colds or headaches and knows most poisonous berries, fungi and plants as well as most edible ones. She is also very creative and has a love for cookery. She can be naive and a little too ambitious at times but her boundless enthusiasm and optimism rubs off on those around her, making anything possible.
Relationships:
Was previously close with the Royal twins but hasn't seen them since she renounced her title. Her father died before her birth on the battlefield and her mother recently passed on prompting her arranged marriage. Knows of Lina and looks up to her courage.
Fears:
Failing to keep her people safe, being discovered by the authorities and what will become of the Golden Torch if she is discovered
Weaknesses:
Sees the good in all, even if there's none to be found. Her naivety of the world outside of the courts (though she is learning fast). Her wish to find love and be loved makes her easy to manipulate.
