Odette tensed as he moved to hug her, "How could you have known this would happen?" She asked as she hesitantly patted him on the back. A huge part of her wanted nothing more then to pull away but she knew she could trust him. "It's not your fault, it's mine I should have told one of my guards where I was going and I didn't." She said as she pulled back. Her eyes searched his own, "I just wish it had been different." She said with a bitter tone as she looked away from him. Self loathing filled her entire being as she said this, not wanting to sound selfish. "Meg's right, I am childish." She said under her breath before she stepped back even farther, "I I am so sorry for mentioning this. Just forget I said anything." Odette added quietly.

Phoebus stared in confusion at her words until what she meant hit him. He lowered his gaze and frowned. "No, I'm glad you told me. It's just..." His words trailed off as he couldn't hold in his anger anymore. He growled in frustration and ran his hand through his hair, turning his back to her. Inside, he could feel his stomach churning and burning. Why did this have to happen to her? And with the engagement coming up so fast. Deep down, he wondered if this was his fault. People had seen them together and word was bound to get out no matter how many threats he made. "Do you have any idea of who it was? Did you know him?" He spun around and looked at her, his gaze hard with anger. Reminding her about that night probably wasn't the smartest thing, but the only thought going through his mind was to find the bastard and tear out his heart.

She cowered as he turned on her and looked at him from under her eyelashes. "I don't know! He wore something over his face." She said, shaking with fear as she recalled what he had looked like. "He didn't say anything, he just-" She broke off as she sat down suddenly on a bench nearby but didn't seem to notice. "I've never done anything mean to anyone. Why would he do that?" She asked as she looked down at her hands as if they had the answer she wanted. "Is that how people see me? Just easy and naive?" She asked in a hurt tone as she raised her gaze to look at Phoebus.

Phoebus bit his tongue as she saw the fear in her eyes. He knew he shouldn't have yelled but he couldn't help the anger that had risen inside of him. "I'm sorry. This is all my fault." He sat down next to her on the bench and put his head in his hands. "This has to be all my fault...someone must have been angry with my actions towards you and.." Phoebus couldn't say the words and grit his teeth. He couldn't bring himself to look at her, even when she continued to talk. "You're not naive. Don't ever think that."

"I will if you stop blaming yourself." Odette said stubbornly as she glanced over at him. "Well whoever it is, they succeeded I am now a ruined woman. And if Phillip finds out, he'll have good reason to declare a war." She said sounding heavily resigned. Her hands twisted on her lap as she thought about what would happen to Paradise if they were ever caught in a war with Maghden. She lifted her head and looked determined, "I'll just have to do my best to please him and see if somehow I can come to an understanding with him." The words sounded a little upset then but Odette kept her expression clear. "It can't be that bad right?" She asked as she looked at Phoebus partly to comfort herself and to see what he thought.

Phoebus glanced over at her and tried to keep his lips from twisting into a frown. He knew that Paradise couldn't stand a war with another kingdom, but to start a war over something like this was extreme. It was an accident and she didn't do it on purpose. "Well it was an accident...and it wasn't your fault. If he get's mad at you about that, then forget him. He doesn't deserve you." The last words came out on accident and he looked back down at his hands. It was still such a stupid idea for the prince and princess to marry for strategy. "We can make this work...if we talk to your parents, maybe we can figure something out."

Odette gave Phoebus a soft smile, "I love that you're willing to help me on this. It's just that I need to do this on my own and I have to be the one to face the consequences." She said, it felt wrong on so many levels to admit that. She stood up, "Thank you for talking to me, I really needed to get this off of my chest." Odette added as she glanced back at him. "You should get back to Jasmine, try and enjoy the evening." She continued gently.

Post by Ariel on Oct 18, 2015 7:42:38 GMT
Ariel giggled as James stole two glasses of wine off of a waiter's tray. She gently took it from him as she gave him a little mischievous look. "You know better then to steal from the poor waiter." She teased before she took a sip of the wine. When she realized it was white wine her eyes seem to lit up as she looked at the glass. "White wine, my favorite. Okay, it was a good thing you stole these." She laughed before going back to look at the ballroom some more. And while she did this her body slowly started to sway to the music that was playing. The song seemed almost familiar to her. Before she realized it, she started to sing the words to the song.. "Lavender's blue, Dilly dilly, Lavenders green.
When I am King, Dilly dilly, You shall be Queen.
Who told you so, Dilly dilly, Who told you so?
T'was my own heart, Dilly dilly, That told me so." Her voice carried beautifully as she song the song, her body starting to sway a bit more. Her eyes slowly closed as she moved to the flow of the music. She did this for a little bit more before she looked at James and smiled at him. She took his glass from him before she place both of their glasses somewhere they wouldn't forget them. Once they were safely on the table she took his hands and walked back to the dance floor with him. Not bothering with the curtsying she went straight into dancing with him. That was all she wanted to do right now. The lullaby was something she loved to hear her mother sing. And it was perfect that it was playing right now. It was calming her down even more. Ariel let him lead as they flowed around the dance floor with their movements. And when they spun she laughed and her smile widened as she started to sing the song some more. "Call up your men, Dilly dilly, Set them to work.
Some to the plow, Dilly dilly, Some to the fork.
Some to make hay, Dilly dilly, Some to cut corn.
While you and I, Dilly dilly, Keep ourselves warm." At the last verse, Ariel's hand slowly went to caress his cheek with the back of her hand. Her bright green eyes not leaving his as she sung. Keeping up with him as they moved. Slowly though her eyes closed as her head leaned back, smiling wide as he spun her around the room. Her head lifted up as they started to slow down. Her hand slowly falling from his cheek to hold his as they spun slower to match with the beat of the song. As she folllowed his movements, she felt herself getting closer to him as she stopped singing. Taking in the moment as they started dancing slower.

James couldn't help the smile on his face as she started to sway in place to the music. He hadn't heard this song since he was a baby but her voice seemed so familiar to him as she began to sing. Her voice was so mesmerizing that he barely even noticed her take the glass from him until he was being dragged to the dance floor once more. Their bodies swirled around each other as they moved across the dance floor. With each twirl, each giggle, James could feel his heart being pulled to her. If someone had told him years ago that he'd be here tonight with the most beautiful woman in the world, he never would have believe them. Yet here he was, getting to spin her around and hold her body close. When her hand caressed his face, he sang the last verse with her as a whisper, not able to tear his gaze from her. "While you and I, Dilly dilly, Keep ourselves warm."
He twirled her around once again, the look and smile on her face making her look like an angel. As they slowed down, James hummed the rhythm of the song softly. His hand rested on her waist as he leaned down, their faces getting closer and closer with each passing moment. Before he knew it, he closed the distance between them, brushing his lips gently against hers. A shiver went through his body at their meeting.

Marina just kept to herself and watched everyone on the dance floor. Especially the young couple who just shared a kiss. That made Marina feel warm inside. She wondered if she ever would be lucky enough to meet someone one day. She just received a glass of wine from one of the servants and took a little sip while continuing to gaze around the room. She hoped that someone would ask her for a dance.

Post by Elsa on Oct 18, 2015 14:30:47 GMT
Elsa stood at the castle doors, why did I even think I could do this? she thought. The last time she was at a party like this her powers got the better of her and three people were killed. Not to mention the blood moon made her powers even more volatile. As she remembered that night she grabbed the door handle and almost immediately the handle was covered in a harsh frost. Startled by the sight she backed away slowly, 'this was a mistake,' she mumbled to herself before bumping into a tall male figure. 'The ball is in the other direction, Lady Elsa,' a male voice echoed through the night. 'Pitch?' she questioned. He was wearing long black and red robes with the hood pulled over his face which plunged his stony mask in shadow, but however hard it might be for her to recognise him in that outfit, his voice was unmistakable. 'You left the house with a certain air of nervousness and on a night like tonight we can't have your emotions getting the best of you,' he said, taking her pale hand in his and kissing it lightly, 'shall we m'lady?' Elsa nodded slowly, she could feel herself start to relax now that a familiar face was by her side however Pitch had never been one for these kinds of events, she just hoped nothing bad would come from their appearance tonight. Elsa walked inside arm in arm with Pitch, she wore a short blue dress decorated with snowflakes. She had covered the dress with her own frost so it shimmered every time she moved. She was glad that this was a masquerade ball, hiding her identity with an intricately decorated silver mask. She didn't expect anyone would recognise her so far from her old home, but she thought it couldn't hurt to be cautious. The pair looked like polar opposites but she didn't care, she was just glad she could try and have some fun and be somewhat normal for one night. Elsa's Outfit& Mask

Post by Dominic Facilier on Oct 18, 2015 15:21:59 GMT
Facilier's eyes flicked from person to person with mild amusement. His eyes fell upon one girl standing alone, smiling at the festivities. He watched her for some time, following her gaze to a young couple who were locked in an embrace. With a vicious grin that could not be seen by the other guests, he crossed over to the young woman "Young love is such a beautiful sight, is it not?" He purred at the woman, meeting her eyes directly.

Post by Princess Giselle on Oct 18, 2015 16:44:21 GMT
Giselle watched the couples in front of her, swaying slightly as the music played. Before she knew it her eyes were closed and she was dancing alone along with the enamoured couples before her. She hummed to herself as she twirled, her dress billowing out around her. She had no idea if she was drawing too much attention or making a fool of herself or not, she was simply lost in the music and the joyous atmosphere around her.

Marina was a bit startled at first when a man suddenly spoke to her, almost losing the glass of wine but managed to save it in time. "It is," Marina replied with a smile. It wasn't often that she had seen someone in such a deep and beautiful love, in fact it was very rare. "Love is very precious." She said after a short while. That was something her adoptive family had taught her during her childhood.
