Before the man could react, Jasmine had taken over his mind, projecting images of naked men everywhere he looked. He clutched his head as the images came faster and faster, crying out in pain as sharp stabs flew throughout his head. Within moments, his body had fallen to the side and he began to shake. Blood spilled from his eyes and ears as he continued to cry out until all was silent. His body lay there motionless, his breathing slowing to a stop as blood pooled around his body, leaving him pale and lifeless.

Jasmine's eyes became normal once again before she fell over in a faint. Joseph checked the man first to see if he had a pulse but found none. He looked over at Jasmine and got the man's jacket to drape over her. The dress she had been wearing was all but useless now. Once she was covered, he cast the hiding spell and picked up Jasmine. As they left the house, he saw Kayley not too far away. "We need to talk." He said as he adjusted Jasmine in his arms. Without waiting for her to reply, he kept walking only waiting until she was by his side before he started talking. "Your little friend is a lot more powerful then I thought." He said with a small smile. He really had hit the jackpot when Kayley had helped him kidnap Jasmine.

Kayley had been standing outside by the street lamp until she heard Joseph come outside. Her gaze flew over to him and her heart sank for a moment, thinking that he was alone. That is, until she saw how he was walking and realized that he still had Jasmine, she was just hidden. She let out a soft with of relief but quickly sucked it back in at his words. "Is she alright? What happened in there?" Kayley had to practically run next to him to catch up. Where they were going, she didn't know, but as long as it was away from that creepy buyer, she wouldn't object.

"She'll be fine, but she took care of that buyer...she's much more valuable then I thought." He said with a little smile as he glanced over at Kayley. "Imagine it, being able to kill someone with just your mind? I tell you what, this could change a lot of things." He said his eyes gleaming at the very thought. "This kind of power is absolutely incredible." He continued as he stared down at where Jasmine lay in his arms. A laugh left his lips, "People will be lining up in droves to buy this." He said his smile growing more at the very thought. |

At his words, Kayley reached up and grabbed his arm, pulling him to a stop. "Joseph, wait. If she killed that man, what makes you think she won't kill the others? That she won't kill you?" Her grip tightened on his arm as her eyes pleaded with him. She knew he was excited about all of this, but he wasn't thinking clearly. Jasmine could kill him just as easily as she had killed that man and she couldn't have that. "I'm sorry but she's too dangerous for you to sell. I don't want you dying on me..." Kayley dropped her hand from him and bit her bottom lip. She sounded like a desperate little child and she hated that.

Joseph looked down at Kayley with a raised eyebrow, "That's why she'll be wearing the ring until she's sold off, she won't be able to use her powers until I take it off. I get my money's worth and the world no longer has to worry about one more creep." He said and chuckled, "It's almost too good to be true, but if it makes you feel any better I don't think the girl will last long anyway. She seemed a lot weaker after taking down that guy, so the chances of her pulling that off again is very slim." He said with a little shrug, not seeming to care that Jasmine could potentially die from using her powers yet again. |

Kayley frowned as he practically ignored her warning and continued on his way. He was going to get himself killed if he continued at this rate. Tonight she would have to do something to change his mind.
When they made it back to the house, Kayley dropped her bags on the floor in the corner and sighed. She still had the dress that Jasmine had given her, but now every time she looked at it, it just made her feel guilty. She turned as Joseph brought Jasmine in and laid her down on the couch. "You should go take a bath or something. Clear your head." She ran her fingers through her hair as she looked at him. He was still buzzing with excitement from earlier and it was exhausting her.

Joseph looked up at Kayley with a small frown, "Just make sure she stays right where she is." He said before he lifted the hiding spell, revealing Jasmine in nothing more then a coat. He took the ring and put it on Jasmine's finger that way she wouldn't be able to move. He squeezed Kayley's shoulder and then left. Jasmine was still unconscious, but it was clear that she was about to wake up.

Kayley watched as Joseph left the room and waited for a few minutes before doing anything. Once she was sure he wasn't coming back, she ran over to Jasmine and carefully took the ring off of her finger, making sure not to touch it directly so it wouldn't paralyze her. "Jasmine, come on, wake up." She shook the woman's shoulders until she was awake. "I'm so sorry, I don't have time to explain, but you need to get out of here." Kayley reached into the satchel and pulled out the dress that Jasmine had given her. Since she was naked, she would need it more than Kayley would. She gently dressed Jasmine before pulling her to her feet, doing her best to keep her stable and upright. "Listen to me, don't go home. Go to someone you trust and don't leave. If you hear from me or I ask you to meet me anywhere, don't. I'm not safe anymore." Before Jasmine could protest too much, she shoved her out of the house and put her on a horse.

Jasmine woke up to someone shaking her, her head was killing her. No scratch that, everything was sore she winced and sat up as Kayley handed her the dress. "Wh-what happened?" She asked groggily, her hands slowly catching up as she helped get the dress on. She slowly caught on to what Kayley was saying and shook her head, "No..." She whispered, not even having time to react as Kayley shoved her outside and onto a nearby horse. "What about you?" She asked as she tried not to fall off the horse, and she was barely able to stay awake. She had never felt this ill before, almost like something was terribly wrong inside her.

Kayley frowned and tried to adjust the saddle so Jasmine wouldn't fall off. "I can't leave...I-I made a deal with him. I'm not able to leave without his permission. Please, just go. He'll be back soon and you cannot be here when he does." She attached the satchel to the side of the horse. It still had the food and cloak that Jasmine had given her at the river. Before Jasmine could protest any longer Kayley hit the back of the horse, sending it running off into the woods. She stood there until the horse disappeared into the darkness and quickly made her way back inside.
Grabbing a small piece of fabric, Kayley wrapped the ring up in it and tucked it away in her bra. She knew that once Joseph figured out what she did that he would use it on her but she needed him to listen to her first. At least if she hid it there, he wouldn't find it. She spun around when she heard a noise in the hallway, her heart pounding in fear. He would understand...wouldn't he?

Jasmine was about to protest as Kayley spoke to her, her mind was slowly processing what she was saying and as a result she didn't have time to stop her horse from bolting forward. It was only due to her quick reflexes that Jasmine managed not to fall off of the horse as it galloped off into the woods. She chanced a look back and saw Kayley enter the house and hoped that she wouldn't be hurt trying to help her.

Joseph finished up in the bath, he had never been one to linger and wrapped a towel around his waist before he moved into the living room. He frowned when he noted that Jasmine was gone and that Kayley looked extremely guilty, "Let me guess you had a change of heart." He said as he stepped towards her. "I hope that you didn't do anything to the ring, that is a very valuable item to me." He continued as he backed her up against the wall.

Kayley swallowed hard when Joseph came back into the room wearing only a towel and she did her best to keep her gaze on his face. She had expected him to take longer than that...When he started to walk towards her, she felt her body shrink back with small steps. "I-I'm sorry, but you wouldn't listen to me. I couldn't let you put yourself in danger like that.." She could feel her voice shaking slightly and clenched her fists at her sides. It made her mad that she sounded so weak and helpless. Her back pressed against the wall, causing her to let out a small gasp and glance behind her when she realized she couldn't run anymore. At his words, she forced herself to look up into his eyes, doing her best to stay strong against him. "The ring is fine. I put it in a safe place.." She could feel the heat radiating off of his body since he was so close and it sent her head spinning.

Joseph let out a sigh as he studied her, "It's in your bra isn't it?"" He asked after a moment as he studied her thoughtfully. He held up his hand in a "gimme" motion that left no room for argument. His expression made it clear that he wouldn't tolerate being toyed around with. "I can handle you getting rid of Jasmine but I really don't like that you took something so valuable to me. Give it to me." He ordered as he leaned in closer towards her. Had it been anyone else, he would've killed them then and there and have been done with it. However he was quickly losing his patience and that was becoming more apparent by the second.

Kayley was about to deny it but the look on his face told her that she shouldn't. When he leaned in closer, she could feel his breath against her skin causing her to shiver. After a few moments, she sighed and nodded. She reached into her bra and pulled out the little peice of fabric containing the ring. "Fine...here." Dropping it into his hand, she stared at the ground in defeat, hoping that he wouldn't use it on her. She hated that stupid ring but she understood why he had it in the first place.
