She couldn't do it. She just couldn't do it. Marina was sitting in the sand and hid her face at her knees while tears ran down her face. For days she had felt a calling from a new spirit, but she had never known that it would be a water spirit. Each time she tried to make contact with it, the memories of her almost drowning went back. The ship. The storm. Her mother and father. It was too much for her. She felt sick and frightened by this. She tried to make herself smaller pulling her knees closer. She barely heard the footsteps approaching her and then a shadow fell over her. "Marina?" she heard a voice say. She stiffened, could it really be? She looked straight up at Edward.

Now that Edward had finally been able to convince his parents to agree on a marriage between him and Marina he had done his best to return to Paradise as fast as possible and ask his beloved the question of questions. Once he had arrived at her home though he only was able to meet her parents but not Marina. In the end he had taken the chance to ask them for their blessing as well which he luckily recieved as well as the information where to find the one he has been searching for. Without wasting more time Edward had headed right to the beach and there she was though as he saw her it broke his heart to see his beloved as she was. "Marina?" He said as he kneed down next to her to check on her. "What is wrong?" He went on as he gently stroke the hair in her face aside and pulled her some closer to him so he was able to comfort her.

Marina held Edward tight as he pulled her closer to him. She sobbed as she tried to find the words. "I've been trying to obtain a new spirit, but..." Marina started. "But the memories comes back, again and again." She had never felt so hopeless before.

"It´s alright dear." He said as he cuddled her. "But what memories are you talking about if I may ask? Maybe I can help though."

Marina closed her eyes as her head rested a bit in to Edwards chest. "My parents drowned during a storm. I almost drowned too, but I was saved," Marina began and told Edward the whole story. The family's trip through business and the storm that came and how her adoptive parents found her after Aladdin had saved her. About her fear for water and that she couldn't swim because of the trauma. She felt tired after she had told him the whole story.

Edward had listened carefully and remembered every single detail of her story while he was holding her even closer yet gently in his arms. "I understand. Maybe we can try and work on that fear together? You know, I´m quite a good swimmer if I may say so."

She looked up at him again. "Will you? Truly?" She was lucky to have Edward by her side. It felt like he always was there when she needed him most. And now she really needed him. She hesitated when he talked about swimming, so after a while she nodded.

"Of course I will. I will always be there when you need me ... well at least I will try everything both possible as well as impossible to do so." He promised as helped her getting up.

"No need to thank me." Edward said with a giggle and wanted to finally ask her the question he hurried all the way for in the first place. However he decided to wait just a little longer. "How about you give it a new try now that I am here?"

Marina nodded to Edward. She looked toward the sea again, hearing the call again. It sounded like someone was singing to her. She then saw the head rise up from the water, the curious shining eyes staring at her. Marina took a step toward the water, then a another one. Marina shivered as she got closer and tried to step her foot in the water. But then it happened again, the whole event went back to her. She could hear the screams from everyone on the ship and her parents against the crashing waves. She let out a cry and fell into Edwards arms as he quickly arrived to help her.

When things turned bad again Edward was right there and catched Marina with his arms to embrace her. He stroke gently her hair and sighed. It had started so well and to his knowledge the spirits were still there, waiting for Marina and oh she had done so well so far. "It´s alright. If you´re ready we can go to them together if you want to."

Marina took some deep breaths as Edward embraced her. She really felt like a child again, so helpless. She looked up at Edward with tearful eyes when he spoke to her again. She swallowed and looked back toward the sea again, hearing the spirits calling her. "Please, don't leave," she whispered and took his hand. When they both walked until the water reached their waists, there were more spirits who circled around them. She could hear their voices, they sounded so playfully.

As she whispered so sweetly though of course obviously afraid Edward squeezed her hand gently and kissed her forehead before they both walked into the water. He was a bit worried about Marina when the spirits circled them, even though he enjoyed their sight, but was happy that they already at least got this far.

Marina almost held her breath when they got closer to them. She held close to Edward as one of the spirits rose up its head. *We know!* she heard inside them says inside her head. *And we want to help. And heal you!* The spirits waited until Marina was breathing normally, then Marina reached her free hand to them and one of the spirits took her hand gently. Then carefully they took them deeper and made them duck in the water. Marina closed her eyes for a moment and when she opened them again, she saw how beautiful the sea really was.
