Naveen sighed and ran a hand through his hair at her words, though the last few tugged at him. "Pain? She's in pain? That's not normal...is it? Gods I wish I could help her...I don't even know where he lives and..father would kill me if I so much as stepped in the front door." He missed her so much...He would give anything to be by her side again but he knew it was impossible. They could meet but it had to be in secret so Nero wouldn't get upset. It could work..but would it be worth it. If she got hurt because of him, he's never forgive himself...maybe he should just disappear.."What about you? How is he treating you? I know I never explained why we sent you away...but it was to keep you safe. I didn't want him to use you.."

Naveen sighed and ran his hands over his legs nervously. "I should have trusted you with the truth. I just didn't want you to worry. That man terrorized us our whole childhood and I wanted to spare you from that. I've already lost Nita to him...I don't want to lose you too." He leaned forward and took her hand in his, running his thumb across her skin. "But I want to include you in now..so if you have any questions about him or me and your aunt, I'll answer them. You deserve answers." He offered her a small smile, letting her know he meant it. After eighteen years of not being in her life, he needed to show her that he cared. He was her father and he needed to start acting like one.

Naveen cast his gaze down to the ground at Chel's question and sighed. "When Nita and I were little, we spent a lot of time together. I kept her powers a secret from our parents and...she became my best friend. When we became teenagers, father started pushing us towards marriage so we could make heirs for the village leadership. Apparently we weren't good enough...we didn't have something he needed but he hoped our children would. When Nita was thirteen, he tried to set her up with this creep that was ten years older than her. He was abusive so..I fought with father about that. I'd scare anyone he set her up with off and he'd beat me, but I kept doing it for her anyway." He sighed and sat back in his seat, wiping his palms against his pants. Each time he thought about his father, he got uncomfortable and nervous and his hands would not stop sweating. "Then I met Aurora and left home. I gave up the dragon hunting and my duties at home. The day I was going to tell my parents that I was going to marry her was the day that Nita told me she was set up in another marriage. Father and I fought so much that he nearly killed me...that was when Nita found out about the beatings. I was going to run away with Aurora but then our village was destroyed and Nita was kidnapped....When father showed up again a few months ago, he revealed that he was behind it all. He captured a dragon, forcing it to burn down our village...he paid the sorcerer to take Nita..all to get back at me and teach me a lesson. He thought that if I lost everything, I'd come crawling back to the way I was, the hunting, being obedient. But then Aurora...killed me and I guess he didn't know I came back. He thought he could use Nita to get an heir and rebuild his legacy but then I got involved again and well...I'm sure Nita told you all about that." He waved his hand, dismissing the last part. Everything that happened was still fresh. He could still remember the night Nita came home after Nero raped her, when he forced Naveen into a threeway with her. That was when everything went spiraling down.

Naveen frowned and shook his head. "I'm not sure. From what she told me...it was about her powers, her blood. He thought that his demon blood mixed with her healing powers, they would have the most powerful offspring." He had to hold down a gag as he said the word, hating that Nero had even succeeded in impregnating her. "I hate that I wasn't able to protect her...that night, when he forced us to...well again, I'm sure she told you, I had no control over myself. He possessed me and every time, I was helpless. She's in this because of me and I don't know how to get her out of it. But now it's too late. Once she has those children...I can never have her back." He ran a hand through his hair and sighed. "A part of me hopes that she miscarries but that's terrible of me. She's lost hundreds of children and she is so happy that now she is going to have two...I shouldn't be wishing terrible things on her."
