"Ooo, Wendy, look at that ship!" Alice called excitedly. She pointed to a ship nearby that had giant billowing sails and cannons mounted on the sides. "It looks so amazing, almost as big as one of Father's ships."
Wendy had to smile. "It is pretty impressive," she said. "Let's slow down a bit, though. Your father said you could come with me only if you stayed in my sight."
Alice made a "pfffft" noise with her tongue. "Father is so overprotective," she complained as she crossed her arms. "I'm not so little anymore."
Wendy laughed. "Says the girl that still sleeps with a teddy bear," she said teasingly.
"Hey!" Alice interjected. "I'll have you know that Mr. Bear Bear gets lonesome at night. He needs the company."
Wendy just laughed again. Spending time with Alice always made her happy. And Alice was pretty happy herself. She almost never got to leave the house, but her father relented if she had Wendy accompany her. He seemed to know that the two were friends, and no doubt he hoped that Alice would listen to Wendy if things got too hairy. Things seemed to be going well so far, though. Alice had fun seeing all the sights at the harbor, from the big ships to the cargo that was being unloaded from them.

As the two siblings walked hand in hand, the wind felt very blustery compared to other days that they used to walk in. Even Taran even had to wear an old blanket that he wore to bed since it was that cold outside. He felt the blanket falling off his shoulders and was shivering like crazy. "Eli, can you get that for me?" Eli, rolling her eyes at him ran back after the blanket and puts it back on him. "Taran, next time, hold it very tightly or else it'll fly away." She said, with a bit of a scold in her voice as she ties it around his neck in a loose fashion. He then heard something in the distance and he heard two females gigging about some sort of ship that is going in the distance. He sees the ship from afar and he was curious to see the area from up close, and just grabs Elionwy by the hand; she then giggles as she continues to run as though she is trying not to fall on the ground. "Be careful." She told him, as he kept running to the two girls. He shyly waves to them and Elionwy smiles at them. "Good day to you two. My little brother saw that you two were talking about a ship and he wanted to see it to." She said, as Taran was looking around the area like crazy. "At least this is better than working in the egg shop all day.." he grumbled to himself as he took in the beautiful sight.

The two girls turned when two kids addressed them. It looked like they were kind of poor, but Alice wasn't the type of girl who minded stuff like that. After her, her best friend was a servant. "Oh, yeah. It's that one, right there," she said, pointing to the ship she had spotted earlier. "It's humongous."
"Judging by it's size, it's probably carrying a lot of cargo," Wendy said. "Maybe livestock or something."
"How do you know all this stuff?" Alice asked, giving her friend a look.
"That's what happens when visit this place day after day to run errands," Wendy said with a smile. "You learn stuff."
Alice smiled back. As she glanced back at the two siblings, she realized that she hadn't told them her name. "Oh, I'm sorry. I haven't introduced myself." She gave a little curtsy. "I'm Alice, Alice Liddell. And this is Wendy."
"Pleasure to meet you," Wendy said as she gave a little curtsy of her own.

When Taran saw that the two girls were talking about the ship again, he thought it would be nice to just get onto that ship and to just pretend to be the young king of the ship, but, that was only going to be in his dreams when he goes back to sleep way later. He just gazes at that ship, and the blonde haired girl was right, it was giant. "Yeah, I know. I wish that one of us could just go onto that ship and just sail across the ocean.." Eilonwy then nudged him and rolls his eyes at him. "In your dreams, little brother. Perhaps it could be something like.. I don't know animals or just furniture. Nothing special like a fa ship" She said, and turned to the girls with a sheepish smile. "Yeah. My baby brother has giant dreams like this all the time." "Its just a dream that one day, it'll come alive." Eli then face-palmed and turned to the young girls again with a slight giggle. "Anyway, that's Taran, the big "dreamer" and I'm Eilonwy." She said, and gave out a small curtsy herself. Taran, politely bowed to them with a small grin. "Sis and I are glad to meet you two as well." He greeted, with a small grin and smiled at both of them.

Eilonwy seemed to think that Taran's dreams were a bit silly, but Alice didn't think so. "I wish the same thing, sometimes," she said. "I read these books all the time about people who sail around the world and have big adventures. And I wish I could do that too. It sounds wonderful." She was glad to see that Eilonwy and Taran didn't mind that she was a lord's daughter. She enjoyed talking casually with people and liked not having to worry about all the formalities and what-not.
Wendy's hands fidgeted with each other. She didn't know how to react to what Alice said. She knew her friend had lofty dreams, but she didn't know a whole lot about the world. She was still that age where she thought she could get what she wanted if she tried really hard, or asked her father for some money. Wendy dreaded the day when her friend's reality was shattered. But she couldn't think such gloomy thoughts right now. She didn't want to spoil the mood. "So, are you two sight-seeing as well?" she asked.

When Elionwy heard the young girl mentioning that having those dreams of being on a ship could be nice, she just thought that her and Taran could be friends right away since it did sound like she wanted to be on the big ship as well. Taran looked at her as thought he was interested in those books about being on adventures on a a big boat. "Oh, you read books on them? That sounds grand. What kind of books are they? Are they biographies or just fictional stories in general? I would love to read them someday. I didn't grow up with a father who would tell me about big ships and such." He asked, as his eyes widened. He had to one day go to her house and start being in dream land now. If only father was alive to tell him about being in the war, especially when ships were around at the time. When Eli looked towards the two of them talking, she sighed and thought it could be nice to see that her brother is at least making conversations with someone instead of moaning in the egg store all day with him either being bored or just complaining. She turned around to the other girl who asked her a question about the two siblings exploring as well, and she nods. "Yes, me and my little brother are sight-seeing as well. He's more of the explorer one, and I have to keep my eye on him so, he won't get lost." She replied, and could not count the amount of times she had to tell him to stay with him instead of wandering off.

"Fiction, definitely," Alice replied. "That's the only kind of book I like. History is so boring." Non-fictional events just didn't seem as exciting to her. Pirates and explorers and great romances were much more interesting than boring kings who lived hundreds of years ago. Alice felt like that was why part of her didn't mind supernatural creatures so much. They made life more interesting. They were so unique and special. She almost wished she had powers of her own. But she knew that could never happen. Besides, she had to stay normal so she could protect Wendy.
Wendy had to smile at what Eilonwy said. "You and me both. If I take my eyes away from this little one, she'll be half-way across the city," she said while pointing to Alice.
"Wendy, I'm not little," Alice said with a pout. "I'm ten years old. Ten isn't little." She paused before adding "At least, I don't think so."
Wendy laughed. "Oh Alice, you're in such a hurry to grow up," she said as she affectionately mussed her friend's hair. "Enjoy childhood while you can. Once you get older, boys will start courting you, you'll get married, you'll have kids of your own..."
"Hey, I'm not scared of any boys that want to court me," Alice interrupted. "Father says they'll probably be lining at the door because I'll be so pretty." She tossed her hair over her shoulder and tried to strike what she thought was a grown-up pose. Wendy couldn't help but giggle though.

"Ah, fiction books eh? I've been wanting to read those. My sister has been reading more historical stories all my life. I wish she could have read those stories to me." When Elionwy heard that comment of him complaining of her reading those stories to him instead of fiction, she rolls her eyes. "Well, Taran, those stories at least gave you ideas on how people lived at the time. I did promise that one day, I'll read you a fictional story. Remember, father died, so, I had to educate you in the best way possible." Taran, when hearing that, realized that father was not around to teach him anything regarding kings. "Well, anyways, what fictional story would you like me to read to you?" The older sister asked, with a small grin. "Sister, anything with ships?" She gave out a small giggle and nods. "Fine then. If I can get more money, I'll get you one book on pirates." She said, and took out a feather and paper and wrote that request down from her brother. Elionwy then turned to Wendy and was glad that she was on the same boat as her when looking out for a younger one. "I see. I have to keep my eyes on him so, he won't go deep into the forest or something." She then pointed to Taran who just stuck her tongue at her with a small grumble. "Really, are you going to say that to every person we meet?" He asked, and rolled his eyes; Eli went over to to him and playfully pats his head. "No. Don't worry, as long as you stay by me, I won't." Taran nods, so he won't be embarrassed. Eilonwy did chuckle at the comments that went on between the two females and thought it was funny to hear Wendy's comment on Alice willing to experience the world of being an older woman. She even thought that it was cute to see Alice's grown up pose and Taran decided to do the same. "Well, look out ladies, the prince Taran has arrived." Elionwy then face-palmed again.

"Yeah, pirate stories are always fun," Alice said, grinning. "There's this one book I have that's about this pirate lady and they steal more treasure than any other pirate combined. She's so amazing." Pirates certainly seemed to lead an exciting life. Alice wished sometimes that she could have a life like that. Her books gave her an insight into what her life could be, and she wanted to experience that.
"You two go into the forest?" Wendy asked, surprised. She had heard rumors that it was teeming with supernatural folk that were in hiding. Regular humans usually didn't go in there for fear of what might happen. Even Wendy was a little apprehensive. Sure, she might be welcome, but she knew that some supernatural creatures that were just plain dangerous, like demons or goblins. Then again, maybe Eilonwy and Taran could handle themselves better out there because they were older. It looked like they were on their own, from what they said about their parents.
Personally, Alice would love to see the forest herself. While most normal humans were scared of it for fear of what she might find, she found it exciting. She pictured herself going in there all the time, like an explorer. Heck, she might even meet other supernaturals and be able to help them, like Wendy. She had tons of money. She could put it to good use. But, her forest plans were interrupted when Taran struck a pose of his own. Alice grinned. "I'll have to see how good your dancing skills are sometime," she said. "The Blood Moon Festival is coming up and there's always a ball at the palace. It's bound to be loads of fun."

If only Elionwy would read him stories related to pirates and adventures instead of history. He would have to go the bookstore to see if they have any things like that for him to read instead of a big book of historical figures that were not going to be relevant as an adult. "Yeah, I wish my sister could have thought the same way before reading those boring books to me." He complained again, and Eliowny shook her head. He then went towards her to listen to her story that dealt with a pirate lady who stole more treasure, which sounded interesting. "Oh, so, not all men are pirates. I kept thinking that they were always men, but, a woman pirate sounds amazing." As Elionwy heard about a pirate lady, she rolled her eyes thinking that reading that would be a bad influence on Taran, but, its fictional instead of a real life woman pirate, so, an author could get away with it; she was just not sure, if Taran could follow along with he instincts and just go around and steal stuff, which he won't of course. Taran, on the other hand, wished that he could have the life of a pirate and go to many islands that no other people have never heard of; that could be one amazing life. When Elionwy turned to Wendy, she heard her question regarding the two of them going into the forest. "Well, I don't usually, but, Taran, the explorer does. He becomes more and more curious every time he goes there, and I have to follow him in there, just in case he finds a wild animal that I have to pull him away from." He then turns to his sister, and tried to think of a time when he did go into the forest. "Well, last time I went there, I did see a fox, but Eliowny thought it was dangerous so, she had to pull me away from it." He said, and being a supernatural creature could at least get him to talk to other creatures, like how Eilonwy sometimes communicates with cats. "Our mother does not want us to be out in the forest too late though.." the older sister commented with a small sigh, as she thought that many times that mother would worry about them getting lost. "If you want, all of us can go to the forest someday and play hide and seek!" Taran commented. "There he goes again with a big idea.." His sister thought as she rolled his eyes again. "I'm sure we can find supernaturals and just ask them to play with us.." He comments again, and looks up to Alice to see if she can go along with the idea. He then turned to Alice and chuckled at the idea of him doing some dance moves. He shyly rubs his arm and blushed a little. "I never danced before... but, I'm sure that the ball could be fun.." He comments, and imagines on how many people are going to be there and what could happen at that giant event.

"Most of them are," Alice replied. "There aren't that many women pirates 'cause some think that a woman on a ship is bad luck. It sounds kind of stupid to me, but I guess there are weirder things out there." A little superstition about women on a ship being bad luck was nothing compared to the creatures that ran around this kingdom. Alice still had no idea how the king planned on getting rid of them all. He would be destroying a good half of his citizens. Didn't that matter?
Wendy nodded at what Eilonwy said. That sounded like something she would have to do if Alice ever went there. She wasn't sure if she would ever take her there, though. She doubted she could protect her if they ran into trouble, even if she could do pretty nifty things with her powers. Of course, right as she was thinking this, Taran suggested that they all go there sometime. Wendy could see Alice's eyes light up at the idea.
"Oh, that sounds like so much fun!" she said happily. "Could we go, Wendy? Please, please, please?"
"Alice, if I let you go in there, your father would kill me," Wendy said, giving her friend a look. "You know he finds supernaturals a bit...spooky."
"But we'll have Eilonwy and Taran with us," Alice argued. "They can beat up any monsters we come across." She grinned at the siblings. "Right?"
Wendy sighed. "I guess we can suggest it. But no going there by yourself. You got that?"
Alice sighed. "Yes," she grumbled. Of course, she didn't exactly mean her promise. She was old enough where she could probably sneak out on her own, right? She could probably pull it off if she felt like it. She could just keep it a secret from Wendy. She would have to come up with a plan later, once she had some free time.

((Oh Alice lol xD)) When Taran heard her mention that there are some women pirates that are considered "bad luck" he rolled his eyes at the thought and just thought that was just plain ridiculous. "Bad luck and women pirates do not sound like they go together." He commented; besides, they can do sword fighting like most men do as well. "I have to admit it, one day, I will make Eliowny be the best female pirate in my book... we can play treasure hunt, do fights with swords, and even wear pirate hats!" Elionwy, when hearing her brother going back to his dream world again, she rolled her eyes at the thought of playing pretend. "You and Alice can play pirates one day while I just sit and watch." She said, and thought that she was getting a little too old to play such childish games, but, it was her little brother. He thought of women pirates not being suspicious as being a little frightened of either him or his sister getting captured by the guards or king, as he would have to even focus on being close to Elionwy at times, so, there was going to be no time to play games. As Elionwy turned to Wendy she thought that she and her could at least follow the two small trouble makers around the forest area so, they won't at least get eaten. "Well, what I'm thinking is that we could go with them to the woods and just follow them around, of course, I'll stick by my brother, and I'll watch Alice as well." Taran, eavesdropping on the conversation between her and Wendy, started to roll his eyes again. "Sis, we are not children." "I know. But, Wendy and I want you two to be safe so, we're going to go along with you." The younger brother huffed and nods. "Got it." He saw that Alice was going along with the suggestion of going into the woods and he was at least glad that he got a new friend to play with. "So, let's have a race there.." Taran said, and as he was going to start running off, Elionwy pulled him by the arm and shook her head. "Now, we all have to stay together. We do not know what is lurking there.." He then rolled his eyes at her again. "Fine, let's go everyone.." He said, and took Eilonwy by the hand and waited for the two girls to follow them. ((So, want to have them all plot in the woods? I do like plotting with these girls. They're really fun ))

((Hmm, I think I want to save that for a later date. I was planning on Alice sneaking out there by herself later and meeting some people and stuff. I figure that eventually though, she'll have to get her butt saved by her friends, so we can always have them run into each other then.))
"Aw, you don't have to just watch," Alice said. "You can play with us. It'll be loads of fun." She never thought it was too old to play pretend. Although granted, she usually had to drag Wendy into it. Her friend was awfully serious for her age. Eilonwy seemed to like the idea of her and Wendy watching Taran and Alice. While Alice wasn't a big fan of being shepherded like a sheep, she figured it was the best they were going to do for now.
"Wait, wait, guys, hold on," Wendy said, holding up her hands. "We're going to have to save this for a later date. Alice's father is a little...well, let's just say, apprehensive, about those woods. You know how people are about supernaturals these days. If he finds out that I let Alice waltz in there, he'll be seriously angry. Let me just talk to him about it, see if we can come to some sort of agreement. If it all works out, I'll let you know. Okay?"
Alice sighed. She knew her friend was right, she just didn't like to admit it. She had a point, though. Her father would bet mad if they went there now. Not that she doubted Eilonwy and Taran's ability to protect them. She had confidence in them. But she knew her father probably wouldn't. No doubt he'd want to send in some guards to protect her while she explored. But that wasn't any fun. The more she thought about it, the more sneaking out there by herself without anybody knowing seemed like the best option.

((Ok! Sounds good.))
When Taran noticed that Alice was trying to convince her friend Wendy to play with them, he decided to go along with her to try to convince her to play too. "Yeah, you can play with us. It'll be fun! You can be the captain of the ship." When Eilonwy saw this, she gave out a face-palm and thought that he should be more respectful instead of begging. He was just a kid, so, she was at least trying to let him get away with it for now. As Taran was about to drag his sister into the woods, Elionwy was the first person to hear that Wendy wanted to wait until Alice's father approved first, which made more sense. She looks at him and puts her hands on his shoulders so, he can pay attention. Listen , dear brother. We don't want to get Alice in trouble. I know you want to take your new friend for an adventure, but, I don't want you and her getting lost either. Understand?" Taran looked on how serious she sounded and he nods. "Yes." He responded, and turns back to Wendy and nods to her as well. "Let us know on when it's ok to go on an adventure.."Taran said to her with a small grin; he was tempted but, he didn't want to get her into trouble, or yet, get Wendy captured by a guard. He realized that Alice was there to protect Wendy as well, so, better to keep her safe.

"Being a captain does sound like fun," Wendy said after a bit of thought. Even if it was just pretend, it would be interesting to be in charge. Sure, she looked after Alice and made sure she didn't get into trouble, but the fact was, Wendy was a servant and Alice was her mistress. Alice would always be above her. Luckily, the two were able to be a lot more casual with each other when they were by themselves.
"Yeah, and I can be your first mate," Alice said with a smile. She put one hand over her eye, pretending it was an eye patch, and curled her other hand into the shape of a hook. "Argh, we sail at down to find treasure!" she said in her best pirate voice before bursting out laughing. She wasn't sure if pirates really talked like that, but it sounded funny all the same.
Wendy was glad to see that Eilonwy understood her hesitation. Taran eventually gave in and agreed to wait. "I definitely will," she promised.
