Kayley paced around the woods, her head still fuming with annoyance. She was surprised that Joseph had let her out of the house at this time of night, even after she had tried to hid the ring from him, but he and Michael needed some time alone with the princess. He still wouldn't tell her what their plan was and personally, she wasn't even sure if she wanted to know. The thought of Joseph caused her to groan. He was starting to get on her nerves. The image of him cornering her to the wall, his waist only covered with a towel flashed through her mind and she frowned as she came to a stop by the river. He was becoming more and more irresistible to her with each time they were alone yet he still got on her nerves. It had been months since the night she had gotten drunk with him and she hadn't touched a drink since then. The last thing she wanted was to give herself more opportunities to embarrass herself. She groaned in frustration and tossed a few rocks across the surface of the water. Usually the woods made her calm but tonight, all it did was make her anxious.

Lonette slung her crossbow over her shoulder as she walked, she had planned on hunting. It was already becoming dark so she decided to make camp. She looked up as she heard some splashing and decided to investigate the source. Next to the river, was a young woman tossing stones across the river. Lonette observed from a distance before making her presence known. "It's dangerous to be out in the woods at night you know." She said as she moved to sit down on a nearby log. The young woman didn't appear too threatening but Lonette knew appearances could be deceiving, especially in her line of work.

Kayley jumped when she heard the voice of a woman appear behind her and she whipped around, dropping what rocks she had left onto the ground. She felt so stupid, coming out this late and not even thinking to bring any form of protection. Joseph couldn't very well protect her if he wasn't around... She looked the woman over, trying to decide if she was a threat or not. The crossbow over her shoulder gave Kayley a bad feeling at first. Maybe she had been hunting or something...not everyone had to be a threat. She quickly shook the thoughts out of her head. Thoughts like that are what could likely get her killed while she was on her own. "I'm aware of that, thank you. I've never had an issue before so if you're here for something just hurry up and take it. I hate waiting." Kayley crossed her arms and tried to look as strong as she could, though she doubted it made a difference. With her small form, it was hard to look intimidating and Joseph always made fun of her for that. She was tired of being a wimp but she didn't really know how to be strong either...

Lonette studied the woman out of the corner of her eye, with each moment that went by Lonette was sure this woman wasn't going to be a threat. "I was going to make camp here, but I'm sure I can find a different place to set up if it would make you more comfortable." She said gently. The woman for all her talk, seemed upset and lonely. Things that Lonette could understand completely, even if she wasn't sure what had caused them. Her thoughts went to her own current situation, she was avoiding Michael until she had come to terms with everything. Her dad had known of her but hadn't even wanted to get to know her. That made her wonder just what she was still doing in Paradise, it wasn't like she had a good reason to stay.

Kayley eyed the woman curiously before sighing and wrapping her arms around herself. "No, you're fine. I..I should probably be heading back anyways. He won't be happy if I'm gone for much longer. I've already given him enough grief the past few weeks." She frowned and glanced back in the direction towards the house. It hadn't been that long since she had left but Joseph hadn't told her how long to stay away. If she took too long, he could think that she ran away again but if she went back too soon, she could anger him. She hesitated for a moment before glancing at the woman. She didn't look much older than Kayley herself and it made her wonder what she was doing out here alone. "If you need help setting up though..I can help you. I haven't been gone for long, I'm sure he'll understand."

Lonette raised an eyebrow at Kayley's words, "Who is he?" She asked curiously. Her eyes following Kayley's line of sight, odd she was looking off towards where Joseph and Michael both lived. Her curiosity was beginning to get the better of her, "If staying out here gets you in trouble, then maybe you should go back." Lonette said gently. The last thing she wanted was to have the young woman get hurt because of her. "Has he hurt you?" She asked after a moment as she studied Kayley. No sign of bruises from what she could see, but that didn't mean they weren't there.

Kayley felt her body shrink back when the woman asked about who he was. She wasn't even sure if this woman was someone who could be trusted, but she was still alive after talking to her so she assumed it was relatively safe. "Um, J-Joseph...I've been with him for a while now." Her gaze fell back into the direction of the house. When the woman asked if he had hurt her, her gaze flew back to her and she shook her head. "No, no, he hasn't hurt me. At least not for a while. As long as I behave, he leaves me alone. I..I recently did something stupid so I'm surprised I'm even allowed to leave his sight." Kayley pushed some of the hair out of her face as she looked at the woman. She looked a little familiar but she couldn't pinpoint what it was about her.

Lonette chuckled, "What are the odds? Is the last name Korso by any chance?" She asked as she glanced over at the young woman with a small smile. At her look, she nodded "Yeah I know them too...my dad is Michael. The uh broody one." She said with a little laugh. "You're lucky Joseph doesn't keep you tied up, although I'm guessing that wasn't always the case?" Her uncle did have a reputation after all, and she had heard that he had kidnapped a certain blonde princess. Which would definitely be something to see, if she had her ways.

Kayley's eyes widened when Lonette knew who she was talking about. Great, she knew she shouldn't have trusted this woman. She tried to stammer a response but fell short when the woman revealed that Michael was her father. Her heart sank and she sat down on a log across from Lonette. As she kept talking, Kayley stared at the woman. That's why she looked so familiar. She had some of the same features as Michael did, now that she took the chance to look. "He did at first, but I made him a deal...it was a stupid decision really. I should have just let him sell me off like all the others..." Her mind returned to Odette and she felt sorry for the princess. She had no clue what Joseph and Michael would be doing with her but it couldn't be good.

"Must have been a good deal, from what I've heard Joseph Is ruthless." Lonette said her words carefully, not entirely sure how well Kayley knew her uncle and not wanting to outright offend her by saying the wrong thing. "Don't say that, the men my uncle sell people off too well they're not exactly praiseworthy. In fact most of them just use what they buy until they drop dead." Lonette said with disgust, it was clear she didn't approve of her father or her uncle's methods. "My name is Lonette by the way." She added as an after thought as she held out her hand for Kayley to shake if she wanted too.

Kayley looked up and shrugged. "In return for him protecting me I have to help him find and capture other supernaturals. I've already run into two of them since I've met him but he never caught them. One helped me get away from him the first time but I don't know what happened to her after that. The other...well that was my something stupid. I let her go." She frowned and glanced over at the house. It was surprising that he didn't punish her more for that. She had violated their deal but nothing had happened to the magic so she was still bound to him. Maybe it was because she technically did help him catch Jasmine, so it didn't matter if she let her go or not. When the woman introduced herself, she looked down at the hand she had extended and hesitated. After a moment, Kayley reached out and shook hands with her. "I'm Kayley."

Lonette listened with growing interest, "Well it seems like he has a soft spot for you." She said after a moment. It was surprising, to her knowledge her uncle only cared for one person and that was her dad. "I'd be careful though, most people who get close to them wind up dead." She said with a dark frown. Her thoughts turning to her own mother, a woman that Lonette only had vague memories of. "I should get some firewood, you're welcome to stay for awhile if you think it'll be ok." She added with a small smile. Kayley seemed like a nice guy and Lonette wondered how her uncle had managed to get so lucky.

Kayley felt her cheeks turn red when Lonette said that Joseph had a soft spot for her. She could still remember the night when they took Jasmine to that buyer and how he had stood up for her when she was being manhandled. "He drives me crazy but..I think I'm starting to feel something for him, despite all that he's done." She didn't look at Lonette, knowing that she would say that it was crazy. Thankfully, Lonette decided to get some firewood. "I'll help you." She got up from the log and helped Lonette gather some firewood and set up the fire. Once everything was set up, Kayley glanced around to make sure that no one else was around before she snapped her fingers and the wood went up into flames. She couldn't help the small smile that came to her face as she moved to sit back down. Her powers were getting stronger. She was starting to master this fire thing and it made her wonder if she could control any of the other elements.

Lonette raised an eyebrow, the girl certainly was a mystery but she rather enjoyed a good mystery. Just as she had been about to use a match, the girl had surprised her once again and used powers. "You're not a witch are you?" She asked curiously as she sat down next to the girl. Of course most witches used spells and they needed wands to cast their magic with. As far as Lonette could tell though, Kayley hadn't used a wand which made her all the more interesting. So perhaps she was a fairy or an elemental of some sort, it was hard to tell so far.

Kayley giggled and ran her fingers through her hair, pulling it back into a ponytail. "No, I'm not a witch. I'm a fairy. I just found out about my powers about six or seven months ago. So far I've only been able to control fire and shake the ground a little bit." She could still remember when she was fighting off Joseph and burned him a little bit. Back then she couldn't have even seared his skin but from how much control she's gained it probably wouldn't be a problem now. "I'm hoping to control all of the elements at some point. Without control of my powers I'm pretty much useless. In that house, something blocks my energy so I can't use it. I don't even know how to fight so I have no way to protect myself." She frowned and leaned forward to look into the fire.
