Joseph cleaned off the blade as he stared down at the family he had just taken care of, he flicked some blood off of the handle on his knife before he sheathed it. The people who had lived here had failed to pay their rent so it had Joseph's job to do clean up duty. He made a face and lit a match to ignite the curtains, once the fire had started up, he moved back outside and got on his horse Cerberus a black steed who he only used on missions such as this. By the time the townspeople became aware of the fire the evidence would be gone and Joseph would be as well, he had no intention of sticking around for people to run to see what was causing the smoke. He urged Cerberus into a gallop, his mind intent on the meeting he had arranged with a fellow black market dealer who wanted to buy a certain specimen Joseph had in custody.

Kayley sat on her knees in the dirt, watching the events unfold before her eyes. She was paralyzed, the sounds and screams were muffled in her ears. Eggs....She had just been outside collecting eggs only a few hours earlier. Now she was watching her home burn...her family killed. There was an added weight on her hand, not very much, but enough for it to be constantly irritating. A ring gleamed from the firelight, the ring that kept her bound. She felt her body being lifted, forced onto a black stallion, but she didn't care. Her eyes never broke away from the horror in front of her. Even as they rode away and the scene got smaller, she couldn't do anything. No words, not even a tear.

Joseph smirked down at the motionless body in front of him, the ring had worked perfectly as he had known it would. The ring was something he and Michael had perfected over the years, it was small, simple and didn't have enough magic to alert any supernatural or fantasy creatures. Once the ring was on however, the person would be unable to move, speak or do anything...they would in effect become trapped in their own minds. It sadly didn't work on people who didn't have fantastical or supernatural abilities otherwise Joseph was sure he would have had his fun with it. "Hope you're comfortable, I got a buyer who is willing to give me a lot for you." He said just loudly enough for his captive to hear him.

Kayley wanted to cry, to scream, but nothing would leave her body. She was so powerless and now she couldn't even respond to this man. The man that took everything from her. She hadn't even seen what he looks like. The color in her eyes changed from brown to a soft blue with flecks of red, reflecting the conflict she was feeling in her head. She mostly felt sadness, but also anger. Who had found out about her powers? And how? The only person that knew was her mother... A constant thought flew through her mind...who was she being taken to?

Once they reached the outskirts of town, Joseph used another spell to cast an illusion over his horse that way no one could see his prisoner. It wouldn't do to get caught after all, and after all the money he had spent on getting the spells for this transaction he certainly didn't intend to waste them. Once the spell had settled, he kicked the horse back into a trot and entered the town. He had no fear of being caught, most of the soldiers worked for him or were too scared enough of him not to try anything stupid. He pulled up to a nice house in the wealthy district, right outside of it another man stood there looking at him expectantly "Right on time." The man sad with a wide smile as he watched Joseph get off of his horse. "Aren't I always?" Joseph asked as he slung Kayley over his shoulder like she didn't weigh much.

Kayley watched as they entered the town. She had just been here this morning on her way to deliver some supplies to the castle. Somehow, it all looked different. It was...darker...terrifying. The closer they got to their destination, the more she wanted to squirm and get away. Once the house was in view, her heart felt like it was going to pound out of her chest. How many times has she walked past this house? Did they know the whole time? She felt the blood pumping through her veins and then everything turned upside down and she couldn't see anything.

"Now remember, you're one of five potential buyers so this meeting is just so you can take a look at the goods all right?" Joseph said with a slight warning tone. The man nodded, "O..of course Mr. Korso." He stammered, giving an awkward head bob as he did so. "This way." The man moved to stand aside and watched as Joseph brushed past him and into the house. It was an elegant home, speaking of the wealth the man had. "Is there anything I can get for you?" The man asked as he came up behind Joseph. Joseph gave the man a dark look and the man nodded, "Right straight to business, may I?" He asked and waited for Joseph to set Kayley down. Once she was mostly standing, Joseph removed the spell so the man could see her. "From what I could gather, she's a fairy. Coming into her magic, also a pretty powerful one. She would definitely fetch a hefty price." Joseph said as he held her upright so she didn't fall to the floor.

Kayley's eyes widened at the man's words. Five!? She held her breath, trying to make heads of tails of the situation. Why was she being sold? What would happen after she's been sold? She was caught off guard when everything became upright again and squeezed her eyes shut to keep from becoming too dizzy. Before her stood a man that she'd never seen before, a man who could possibly own her in the very near future. She could feel strong arms holding her body upright and eyes staring at every inch of her. Fear took over her body, her eyes becoming a golden color to show that.

Joseph watched as the man studied Kayley with interest, "She's definitely pretty enough." The man said eventually as he raised his eyes to meet Joseph's own. Joseph smirked, "Well it'll probably make the buying part much easier." He said as he moved one hand to run along the side of her body. The man nodded, his eyes darkening just a little bit, "How much?" He asked as he considered Kayley with even more interest. Joseph's smirk turned into a dark smile, "Fifty thousand gold coins....that's the starting bid for her at least." He added with a loose shrug.

Kayley watched the buyer's every move, not daring to take her eyes off of him. She was so focused on the man in front of her that when she felt a hand running down the side of her body, her eyes flashed red for a moment. Not being able to speak or move was getting more irritating as the men spoke about her. She promised herself that as soon as she could move again, she'd slap this 'Mr. Korso' so hard. That moment couldn't come fast enough.

Joseph could almost feel the glare that Kayley had sent him. It didn't pass his notice that her eyes had turned a dark red when he had made a pass on her. "So can I consider you interested?" Joseph asked watching the man study Kayley with a dark interest. The man looked up at Korso and nodded, "Yes I'll put my bid on her." He said a twisted smile growing on his face. Joseph smiled in return, "I'll keep you updated on the pricing of course. This offer won't stay good for very long so be prepared to hear from me." He said as he put the illusion spell on Kayley once again. The man stood up, "Yes, I'm looking forward to doing business with you." He said with a wide smile. Joseph's eyes glinted with dark amusement, "Of course, I'll be sure to keep you well informed." He said before he tossed Kayley over his shoulder once again.

Kayley turned her attention back to the buyer and could feel her body fight a shudder at the look he was giving her. There had to be a way for her to get out of this. This guy had to slip up sometime...maybe that could be her chance. Her heart felt like it was going to explode from the frustration she was feeling, and before she knew it, the world was upside down....again.

The man led them back outside and Joseph had them both on Cerberus once again. The ride to one of his many safe houses was short and by the time he reached it, it was almost nightfall. The safe houses had a few protection charms on it, especially around the entrances and windows. After all he couldn't lose any of his cargo and with this prospect, well things would definitely be looking up in the next few weeks. After taking care of Cerberus and putting him in his stall in the small stable yard next to the house, Joseph took Kayley and went inside. The house was simple but well furnished for the things he'd need in handling supernatural/fantasy beings. Such as the dungeon that cut off most of her more dangerous powers. Once there she'd be able to speak and move at least a little but not much beyond that. He set her inside and then took off the ring. "Hello there sunshine." He said as he fastened chains around her wrists to keep her in place. "I hope you don't mind your new home. It won't be a long stay though." He added with a small smile.

Kayley gasped a deep breath once the ring was removed from her finger and finally felt the anger flood over her. Her eyes bore deep into his as they turned red once again. She raised her hand and started to slap him as hard as she could, only to have the chains stop her inches from his face. A loud growl of frustration flew past her lips and she tried to pull the chains further. "You son of a bitch" She screamed at him until she became drained and her body felt limp. Kayley hung her head so she wouldn't have to look at him. She was so exhausted but she couldn't close her eyes. Not with this man around. She fought to keep her emotions in check but she knew she was fighting a losing battle.

Joseph chuckled not at all phased by her reaction. "Be honest, you're a little grateful I got you out of that slump. At least now you don't have to hide who you really are." He added with a smirk as he dragged a chair over to sit across from her. "So tell me, what kinds of things can you do exactly? Fly? Use magic spells?" He asked, his taunting smile only growing as he spoke. The girl seemed exhausted but Joseph was only becoming more animated. "I have to say, you're probably my highest bargain yet. Which is saying a lot as I've sold plenty of your kind." He said as he leaned back in his chair.
