"Well I'm assuming you know about the proclamation... There are guards around hunting for supernaturals; people are being executed left, right and center. It's honestly awful. So if you do have any kind of powers, I suggest keeping them hidden unless it's absolutely necessary to use them. You don't have to tell me what they are unless you think they could aid us in anyway."

Jane was just about to say something about how fitting this proclamation was for humans in her opinion. But in case Gothel was a human then there already would be an exception ... "Well I guess you will find out soon enough about my ... speciality."

Rapunzel wiped her brow but sighed happily at the clean kitchen.
"The taverns quite quiet right now. Most of the villagers staying here previously have moved on. The quiet is nice but I kind of miss the chaos of a busy house."
Rapunzel uttered, mostly to herself as she grabbed a bowl and ladled some stew for herself.

As Gothel mentioned the chaos of having a lot of people around Jane gulped. Oh she knew very well how it was to be with a whole bunch of people around you actually did really care for. However this was in her past if she wanted or not. "Mhm ... well with the proclamation it surely will change soon enough."

"I just hope they're all okay. I know they're capable of taking care of themselves but who know what may happen if a guard catches them. Or worse yet, Claude Frollo finds where they're taking refuge."

"Claude Frollo was the one who brought this huge mess upon us, he had a big part to play in putting these laws in place. I personally don't know much about him, we've had dealings in the past but I've always tried to keep my distance. He's a member of the court and seems to have a huge influence over the king"
Rapunzel leaned over and picked up Jane's empty bowl and began to wash it in a large bucket of water
"I wish I could say more, but I was never that involved within the court. He dealt with my suitor once mother-"
She froze, dropping the bowl. She cursed under her breath
"I- I'm sorry... I've said too much- Just don't get mixed up with Frollo."

Wow, now that was someone who was trusting even strangeres she hardly knew anything about, Jane thought, or am I actually looking that thrustworthy? Either way the female just made her chuckle for a moment. "Don´t worry I won´t tell anyone what you just said about yourself. For Frollo I can´t promise anything though ... if I have to face him I won´t back down."

Rapunzel stared at Jane and said in a stern tone, very different to her usual up beat, sing song voice
"I'm not denying your strength or your powers, but please do not go after him. He's cunning, he's always one step ahead. He has people on the inside, he's someone to be taken very seriously. Wolves shouldn't go hunting for bears."
She continued washing the bowl before going on to her own.
"As for what I said, please try not to dwell on it. I will explain to you, properly but I got carried away with myself then. You'll find out in time."

"Didn´t intend to, yet. So don´t worry. Besides even if he is a devil, I dealt with an actual demon not too long ago so I know how to defend myself." She assured Gothel. However the fact that she used a forbidden magic, at least for her kind, she kept for herself. After all it also came with a price. "Well then is there anyone else in this house I should know?"

"Not right now, like I said the last supernatural staying here left a few days ago. Someone else may show and stay the night at some point but right now it's just you and I. I gave you room 14 because aside from it being one of the only ones that is completely tidy, it has one of the best views in the Inn."
She said, mostly back to her usually bubbly self.
"It's starting to get dark, I may scout the forest for anyone lost or wounded but otherwise it seems like it's going to be a quiet night."
She gave a small yawn and dumped the dirty water out of the window and pulled the bread out of the oven.

Now that made Janes eyes widen in shock, not knowing if she should call Gothel brave or crazy. "You go out in the forest at night all by yourself? Don´t you know how this looks like for others, I mean the ones who are for the proclemation? Not to mention how dangerous it is to go out there as a woman. You´d be easy prey both for humans and animals."

"I'll be fine, I've done it before. One of the witches taught me a basic camouflage incantation and I always take some Doll's eyes berry juice with me just in case."
Rapunzel shrugged a thick cloak over her shoulders and untied a vial of black berry juice from the pot rack.
"And if all else fails, a frying pan to the back of the head knocks them out cold."
Rapunzel let out a light laugh and picked up her saucepan securing it to her belt, she looked vaguely ridiculous but she'd gone out like this twice before and survived.
"I'll be back in an hour, I promise. And when I promise something I never, ever break that promise."
